Are you basing all this on having watched half an episode of Celebrity Rehab, or something? You are assigning moral and ethical positions to Drew which he has never expressed. You have decided without being familiar with his work (hint: he's been a doctor for 20 years, Celebrity Rehab has been on for 2) that he does so unethically.

As far as having made out better financially than the people on CR: guess what, he's a fucking doctor. Doctors do better than drug addicts, usually.

Continuing: you don't know what you're talking about. You've decided because someone is involved with a show which deals with drug addiction that said person is exploiting them for his own personal wealth. This is not a forgone conclusion.

Secondly, your sarcastic quotes around "Dr." betray your ignorance. Dr. Drew is one of few actual doctors who are popular in the media (as opposed to Dr. Laura, Dr. Phil etc who are not physicians.

There have been plenty of shows about people with cancer- any doctors who appear on those shows are certainly exploiting their patients and are heartless and greedy, right? Drew cannot ethically (read: does not) withhold care until it's time to record. There have been people who have come to him for help, thinking they might be on the show, and he has had to refer them to care immediately.

He is not involved in the casting of the show, for those reasons of ethics.

I'm guessing you don't know much about the Hippocratic Oath or any AMA rules to which you are referring, particularly as it relates to this particular doctor.
