Most likely. Drivers for most computers are pre-installed with Linux, plus eeeXubuntu is designed for the eeePC.

I installed it and the wifi and ethernet do not work. So now I'm screwed.

Drivers are included in the eeeXubuntu distro so they should work. Maybe you missed something during installation? Try googling "eeeXubuntu wireless" and remember if it's Linux, chances are you'll have to fiddle with it to get it to work ;)

You could activate an automatique login if you want and getting desktop directly
