There is an element of truth to this however. I know many atheist that use a "guilty by association" approach to Christianity. They believe all Christians are like your Reverend character without exception, even if I bring up the point of progressive Christians or Christians that just don't act like dicks. Also they don't believe they have the right to be offended, there are many atheists that believe everyone should be atheists, no questions asked. So on some level, I think this does occur.

Anyway, first of all, killing animals isn't the only way of reducing population. The population would drop if ranchers stopped breeding cows.
Second, eating meat is the reason we have such a large cow population. Eating cows does not lower their population, it simply makes ranchers raise more cows to meet the demand.
@SanddancerDH8 Were cows not eaten as much, they would not be profitable, and they would be bred at a lesser rate. If they are eaten more, they will be more profitable, with more demand, and as such, they would be bred at a higher rate.
More cow eating = more cows. Less cow eating = less cows. It's perhaps not intuitive to you, but that's how it works in a society that grows it's own food rather than foraging (like ours).

I'm not sure that eternal torture is in the Bible, I mean I wasn't raised Christian so I may have missed it but I've read the bible and seen some of the quotes people use to back that up, it never seems to outright say that unbelievers will burn forever or anything.

Second, eating meat is the reason we have such a large cow population. Eating cows does not lower their population, it simply makes ranchers raise more cows to meet the demand.

@SanddancerDH8 Were cows not eaten as much, they would not be profitable, and they would be bred at a lesser rate. If they are eaten more, they will be more profitable, with more demand, and as such, they would be bred at a higher rate.
More cow eating = more cows. Less cow eating = less cows. It's perhaps not intuitive to you, but that's how it works in a society that grows it's own food rather than foraging (like ours).

But that isn't our current situation. It is a hypothetical situation that is very unlikely to ever occur.

God is and always will be a hippy, who smoked alot of weed and drank alot of booze, Religion teaches people to fear god and to not smoke with him, but to smoke on your own, "do as I say not as I do" that should be the christian saying. And that is the Christian way in every Christian house hold I have ever been in. God does not want you to have knowledge so he kills your brain cells with the bible, and blinds you with faith. & says my evil is done here.

I'm not sure that eternal torture is in the Bible, I mean I wasn't raised Christian so I may have missed it but I've read the bible and seen some of the quotes people use to back that up, it never seems to outright say that unbelievers will burn forever or anything.
