  • Good vid, but one question. When you done with the process , after you take you 1-hour soaked jeans out the water, do you dry them with high heat or let them air dry? Thanks.

  • @SneakaSwagg23Boi I believe the idea is to wear them immediately after until they dry on your body

  • quick question. does the 17 1/2 leg opening in the 501 shrink to fit stay the same after it gets shrunk?

  • really thoughtful video! nothing worse than jeans which just fall down and which require constant hiking up to avoid wardrobe failures! And the main purpose we wear jeans is to look body conscious not street people. bravo!

  • I got these but i dont want to make them That tight and i prefer just a regular straight fit should i just not shrink them?

  • Anyone have any recommendations for a skinny dude ? I just bought my first shrink to fit pair because a friend talked me into it .. I took them outside beat them on the ground waved them over my head a bunch to stretch them out and then I washed them ... They shrank up in the waist perfect but the length was just a tad too short and they seem to be stiff in the ass area .. like when I stand up straight it looks like I have a dump in my pants haha . Any way to eliminate that problem ? Or am I SOL

  • Take it from an old guy who has shrunk to fit many times - wear as much as possible before any wetting to stretch to your general shape, get them wet when wearing them (hot bath / shower), stretch them a bit when wet by squatting etc and then wear them until they dry. Then they will shrink and retain the overall body shape they had prior to wetting but just smaller. (I promise!)

  • Hi and thanks for the info. I thought that you would have worn the jeans in the tub (not in boiling water, though!) as this gives a more natural shrinkage. I've just bought some Edwins and they suggest wearing the jeans for some time before the first soak/wash. I'm going to try that. Thanks for your advice, though!

  • your body rules

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa I'm 6'1 with long legs and I usually wear a 30x34. I want a slim look, but I cant stand my jeans flooding. What would be a good length to use?

  • Also another qustion wat are good shoes to were with 501s when u first buy them

  • Ok it might sound wierd... but im 5"7 and I were 36x30 to me its comfortable were they are at...but they are a little to baggy...i would like to were them were they fit perfect but I honestly watch the video and i just dont know were to start...do they shrink alot on u...do they fade at all...do they feel as hard to break in like when u first buy a pair after you wash them...these are qustion I would like to know...respond back asap plzz

  • cool thanks

  • NICE BUTT, BRO

  • I just needed to tell you that forget the fucking jeans, you have a smoking hot body and a SWEET ass.............

  • i just wash then like four to five times and they shrink

  • what they told me in the store is that you're supposed to take a shower or bath wearing the jeans and let them dry on you and where them as much as possible before washed again and repeat the same 3 times. in the video I see they guy just putting them in water for some time and then letting them dry NOT on him and wearing them normally. so which one is the correct way?

  • @pqstr It's personal preference. Some people put them in a bath and then let them dry.

  • @pqstr The first one. When you wear it it'll shrink with form (like your legs and style) , if u just shrink em they gonna shrink ugly

  • What if I like the fit without the shrink , When I put em in the washing machine the shrink anyway ...............

  • has anyone seen my stapler?

  • Size down two for a slim fit? If im 32 in Levis 511, I should get 30's for the 501s? Thanks

  • Great job, thanks for the info....But it seems as if levis has changed the denim material recently....Prefer the older levis...

  • P.S. Make sure you can be somewhere warm for several hours after you put the wet jeans on. Wearing wet pants on a chilly day is a good way to give yourself hypothermia.

  • I skipped the bathtub and simply ran mine through the washer on hot + delicate, no soap, then put the jeans on until they were almost completely dry. Even better if your washer has a presoak option, just use that.

  • do they stretch after you soaked them?ni don't want them to be as tight as your but a little looser. if you could get back to me i could use the help

  • I'm A Size 34 X 32. What Size Do You Think I Should Get For The Shrink To Fit? (Nice Video)

  • @MrJose136231 Just get a 36 at the waist and when u wash em theyll go down to a 34 they wont shrink from length they'll just get tighter from everywhere

  • y would u want to shrink them thats stupid. there loose, i love them they way they are

  • Great leg and butt.

  • I just bought some 501's today and the lady at the store suggested i get 33 - 34 and i wear 32 - 30. But im not sure how to shrink them ? Should i return them ? idk i need some expert advice. PLEASE HELP

  • yo I dryed my jeans n dey camed out wrinlked badd can I still wear em

  • i never wash my 501's

    Hahahahahahah!

  • Very cool way to hold the jeans down in the tub !

  • the 501 levis jeans are the best

  • The Ramones jeans

  • i cant fucking understand u!!!!!!!!!!

  • dont they fade

  • nice ass

  • This is great. Doing THis Now!.

  • speak up man cant hear anything when you mumble..

  • ' and, it's just all wrinkly '

  • Hey buddy! Beers are gonna get warm...

  • Damn nigga those are skinny haha

  • so rookie not wearing them whilst shrinking

  • man those seem really tight at the bottom around your calf and at the hem. Is there a different style of STF that will be a bit more baggy in that area?

  • does this work with roca wear denim jeans?

  • ok ive never worn levis before and im gunna buy some levis 501 shrink to fit sky blue and the levis 501 shrink to fit grey rigid and ive been watching all these videos about shrinking them...wat if i just wore them as soon as i got them and then washed them after every wearing of them would they shrink or would they stay the same because ive heard they just shrink????????

  • @dupreedomio : Let me tell you from experience that the last thing you'd want to do is to give 501 Shrink to Fits repeated washings. Regardless of whether you wear them the first time or not, STF's will shrink after the first washing period. Because this type of jean will shrink, it is recommended that you purchase a few sizes bigger than what you normally would wear; especially in the inseam. I bought a pair of grey 501 STF's and washed them more than once and they look horrible.

  • Shrink to Fit jeans will loose rigidity (which is what makes them look good) and will discolor horribly with two or more washes. A lot of people these days don't wash their rigid jeans believe it or not, but there are some techniques that I've employed, which keeps them fresh and nice looking. If after some wears there happen to be some unsavory smells, I usually apply some antibacterial odor eliminating spray.

  • @dupreedomio : Unless you shrink your jeans like the gentleman demonstrates in this video, if you put your jeans in the dryer (under low heat) they will have wrinkled horribly when they come out. The technique that has always worked for me (after the first and only wash of course) is to turn the jeans inside out and iron under high heat & steam while using a pillow case, which serves as a barrier between the pants and the iron. This takes care of the wrinkles and preserves the crisp rigid look.

  • How do you shrink individual parts? Name the buttox area..

  • Well I Wanna Buy A Pair Of 501 Jeans But The Problem Is Im Only 5ft And My Jean Size Is 28x28. What Size Should I Buy If There Is Any??

  • @jbbravo32 32x32. Then shrinkem.

  • nice ass...

  • Does it work for 511 levis????

  • Instead of soaking them, what if you just wash them?

  • your video was very helpful however I'm not sure about sizing. I like quite a close slim fit. What do I do about buying the correct size. Should I still size up in the waist?

  • Normally, I wear pants that are 32W and 30L, so when I bought my first shrink to fit jeans last year, I followed the recommendations on the rear pocket tag, but found that after an initial washing and drying in gentle cycle, the jeans still came out a little too big. After giving those jeans to the Goodwill, I again bought STF 501's, but this time, I bought jeans of the same waste size and two lengths longer (32). I found that not all 501's shrink the same.

  • will it take color out of th jeans

  • what about the shininess?? when the indigo bleeds out wont the jeans lose their shininess???

  • hey can u please awnser this thanks.i just bought a pair of shrink to fit jeans and my normal size is 34w 30L 501, i added 1 inch to waste 35w and 2 inches long 32L so i want a normal look to my jeans not to baggy not to slim how long should i put them in hot water for and i also want to keep em at my size 34w and 30L please awnser thanks

  • hey bit of help please, I like my jeans a little bit baggy not tooo baggy though, but I was wondering... If I bought these i wouldn't wash them plainly because I don't like too much of a tight fit, but will they loosen up over time or stain everywhere if not shrunk? And are they reaaaly thick because I do not wan't jeans that are too thick, and will they get fudged up in the rain?

  • moosehead!

  • if you wash'em in cold water and dry'em with hot air?

  • IM DRINKING MOOSE HEAD RIGHT NOW!

  • another question, how do i convert the mens sizes of 501's to womens, i'm a size 14 Width and 32 length in the jeans i'm wearing now, so i guess all i need to know is the width size conversion

  • Is there a way to shrink it so it resembles a boot cut jean?

  • Always purchase one size up in waist and length.

  • I do it a little different. I wear the jeans for a few weeks at home before I shrink them. Once I have some desired creases I wear them in the tub with cold water for about 15 minutes. (Youll feel them shrink)Take them off and hang dry til they're damp, then put them back on. Strech in them (squats, bend knees, etc...) to get the desired creases. I wear them til they dry (you don't have to be that hardcore)

  • @infinite224 yeah... with raw denims you normally go 6 months to a year without washing them to get the desired creases and imprints.

  • Thanks for that, it's the best explaination of how to work the 501 shrink to fit to best fit your body. Be nice to see how those other ones fit you, the blue ones you showed.

  • are you suppose to buy your actual size if you want them to look like urs, or a size up?

  • i've never worn 501's before, if i wanted a slim look (not so loose and not so skinny) what size should i get? i'm about 5'4.

  • @zitalee2 Like any other clothing if you can try them on before you buy them that would be ideal. Jean size is dependent on your waist size so I have no idea based on your height. If you can try them on find ones that fit how you'd want them to fit post-soak and buy those for a slim fit or a size up in the waist for a bit looser.

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa well someone else mentioned their height that's why i thought it was necessary. thank you for the advice :)

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa what does "fitted jeans" mean?

  • @zitalee2 i'm 5'6" and I got the 502 Spencer, W: 29 L:30.

  • I normally wear W30 L32 in jeans... should I buy the shrink to fit as the same size as I normally wear? or should I buy it little bigger? and I wore W30 L30 shrink to fit jean at the store and the length seems about right... do you think its okay to buy W30 L30 shrink to fit jean?

  • @venukim If the 30 length fits well before the soak go with something longer so when they do shrink they'll shrink to the desired length probably 32 maybe 34. The 30/30 will become floods.

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa what do you mean by floods?

  • all this time i've been throwing them in the wash

  • does it shrink around the waits or the legs?

  • 501 regular fit my regular size is 42 32 should i get 44, 34 and shrink them or what any advice ive never baught shrink to fit b4

  • @SuperFolko If you want a tight fit I would go 42 or one under (if it's not too tight). If you want a straight fit go 43 and for a relaxed fit go 44. Always get 3 inches longer in the legs. Always try them on and the waist will have some give after a while. Remember, nothing good happens overnite.

  • @hellojohnathan

Never recommend a guy with a 43 inch waist to get a tight fit. Fucking. Gross.

  • how do you go about drying them after letting them soak in the tub? do you wear them until they dry?

  • you have a nice ass... ;)

  • i kinda like how they looked better on you before

is that gay to say? =p

hah but is their a way to shrink them only a little bit?

like if i wore them on a rainy day

  • I have a pair of 758 levi's 34 leg 33waist & they are to baggy around the waist & backside would i be able to shrink these?

  • thank you very much!! i just bought a pair two days ago. the lady at the store told me to wear them a couple times before doing the tub shrinking. but i do have to say thank you again for the step by step process...ill be back to share my outcome.

  • Those turned out really good looking! Are they a certain style of shrink to fit 501s or just the regular indigo ones?

  • hey if i do this to size 28 30 skinny jeans for men (stingers) what size would they shrink to?

  • @AHeroicFetus If they're Levis STF they might shrink 1 or 2 sizes. Shrinking to fit your jeans is not a universal concept for jeans. Most will shrink a bit but only unsanforized jeans, like STF's, will yeild large changes in size. If your jeans are sanforized as most are they won't shrink as much relatively speaking.

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa no they are not levis, they are Denim skinny jeans, rude fit not stinger that was my bad. social collision is the brand. its 28 30 but there a tad to long but just the right waste size and stuff. i just dont like how they are kind of long.

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa : The black jeans I bought shrunk about perfectly in waist and length; however, the grey ones I bought of the same size (32W 32L) did shrink, but the fit stayed a little loose in the waist and slightly longer in length. When machine washing 501's, they come out of the dryer terribly wrinkled and with some streaks. The way I remedy this is by ironing them inside out right out of the dryer, so as not to loose any color or cause any bleeding in the pants.

  • Just for informational purposes, how tall are you? I just got a pair of 501s but I think they may be too big. I like the shrinkage on yours though. Good vid btw.

  • @minhvo6 182cm/6' Thanks

  • I'm normally a 30x32 and I got a pair of 28x34 of these jeans. I was hoping to get these to fit like 511s. is there anyway to get them to fit tighter in the legs?

  • @thisisjfreed After you shrink the jeans take them to the tailor and have them tapered from the knee down. Be specific about how much taper you want particularly the size of leg opening. If they don't fit in the thigh perhaps try a size smaller.

  • @HidetoshiTakinawa do know how much the charge for that is normally? that is a very good idea!

  • @thisisjfreed Depends on where you live and the tailor could run you around $15. Your best bet is to call around and get quote perhaps from tailors that have experience with denim.
