  • Star Trek forever! :)

  • I will never understand the hatred for DS9 now. Sure, it started off alittle slow, but then so did TNG! The best part of DS9 was it was much darker than the other series.

  • how sad to know there will be another Trek show as good as DS9. Fact: Voyager and Enterprise paled in comparison, and the Trek franchise was so wrecked after the last TNG movie they had to "reboot" the series.

  • MAKE A DS9 MOVIE

  • Great characters indeed, they could've had better ideas for O'Brian though.

  • ah, i so wish they would continue with the show, or do some movies. DS9, you will be never be fogotten. Great scriptwriting, tight atmosphere, great acting, message, music, camera work, special effects, everything excellent, Star Trek at its best!!

  • i love the books, but i want a DS9 movie!!!!!

  • If only!

  • I'm loving the series. though i'm having trouble finding Unity at a reasonable price. Currently reading A Stitch in Time seeing Garak in a new light :-)

  • @zoom335is I'm wondering the same thing.

  • If you want to follow on the DS9 saga, Twist of Faith is essentially on omnibus of the first four DS9 Relaunch novels - I'm now reading these haunted seas. Both fantastic books . . .

  • Ironic, I'm reading "A Stitch in Time" right now

  • whos the guy who looks like Sean Connary? I hear he fucked Tribecs mother last night

  • This is still my favorite video on youtube Thank You

  • "Favor the bold"...

  • Morn!!!

  • what is the music from 0:25 to 1:25?

  • At 0:39, LOL "Most compelling Star Trek saga of them," then we see a picture of Picard!

I do love DS9 and all Star Trek series, though.

  • i still think they should make a DS9 movie. ah but ...maybe it should be left alone.

  • @ThePixelChaos DS9 should never be left alone. there's no reason they couldnt continue it as Deep Space Nine: The Next Generation, with a new crew, like they do in the books.

sci-fi soaps on space stations are my favourite... DS9 has been a favourite since I was in my early teens, and Babylon 5 is one, too.

they should make more of this kind of show - hate battlestar galatica's grim and grittiness, it's got no light, no humour.

  • 1:11 Dukat has muttonchops.

  • @Sarc37 its not Gul Dukat. Dukat died in "What you leave behind". that character is Gul Macet from the Star Trek the next generation episode:" the wounded", he is related to Dukat, so they resemble each other (also, the same actor played both characters lol!)

  • @mrScififan2 He was also one of the Romulans in "The Neutral Zone". I guess Dukat's old man must've put it about a bit more than we thought?

  • DS9 rocks and the relaunch books are very good writing and storytelling

  • A second Defiant Class Ship should have been assigned to the Deep Space Nine Space Station. Also a USS Reliant type ship filled with advanced electronics of every kind shoukld have been assigned to the Space Station to help with the Rebuilding of Bajor, To help with the aid and rebuilding of Bajor, and to help with exploring the War Torn regions of the Alpha Quadrant. Stories set in the Gamma Quadrant could have also been told using that ship after it was assigned to the Space Station.

  • i love deep space nine !!

  • Deep Space Nine had so much going for it that it could have been the long Running " Gunsmoke" of Science Fiction / Star Trek. DS9 could have gone on fo 15 to 20 seasons with actors and characters coming and going.

It could have been teh staple that stayed put while the other films and shows came and went.

  • @Roadracer987654321 I agree with you 100%!

  • @Roadracer987654321 Doctor Who is premiering it's 32nd season in April, and it's 33rd in October.

  • love the vid, and music, thanx for posting it :)

  • Got every trek novel, all series.

  • Does anybody know if the titles listed at the end are in order of a story line or sequence! Loved the show.. perhaps time to start reading!

  • Order is a bit tricky. But, here's the main books you want to read are in this order:

Avatar 1&2, Abyss, Mission Gamma 1-4, Rising son, Unity.

Garak and Dax happen before but aren't essential to the relaunch.

The rest happen DURING the main story but are more side trips and some tie into other book series.

If you liked DS9 at all, I recommend every single book.

  • Awesome!! Very nice. Gave me chills, actually. heh

I've only read some of these relaunch novels. It's just nice to know the saga is continuing on in someway. I'll have to pick all these up.

  • Joeflint; I loved the Terok Nor books. Especially that last one... But they were all amazing!

My big beef with the new DS9 relaunch books is that, aside from the Dominion/Ferenginar book, there's no Odo. And I haven't really seen any Sisko, either. (And you're looking at a huge Odo fangirl. xD; )

Beautiful video, though, despite my silly complaints about a lack of our favourite shapeshifter.

  • lol that Dukat with a beard looks like Gul Macet from that TNG episode.

  • Dude, it's the same person playing both characters!

  • The music is track 26, "Mammoths," from the "ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN" soundtrack by John Powell.

  • Huh, would of never guessed that it was from Ice Age 2, it fits Star Trek so well though!

  • Yeah baby, good stuff. The new books follow canon, and give DS9 the fair treatment it never got after the finale.

If you cant find them, TORRENT TORRENT TORRENT.

  • Long live ds9!!

  • I love DS9 and am soooo happy the books have continued the storie- but bloodyhell are they hard to get in Britian- and if you are lucky to get them, quite expansive...sigh... it's so worth it tho :)

  • The books are set after the show, and they are damn good! I have read them all except the 2 Klingon books, and Rising Son is a cut above the rest.

Fearful Symmetry has now been released, and the next 2 installments due in 2009 are 'Soul Key' and 'The Never Ending Sacrifice'.

In addition, a trilogy of Terok Nor books have been released which tell the tale of the bajoran occupation; how it started, how Odo went from unknown sample to security officer.

  • So the books are not storys from the show? If that's true I need to go and buy them all!

  • that comment made at the start is so damn true, DS9 was a cut above the rest of trek

  • Wonderful video! What's the music? It's really nice.

  • Great Video! Haave some of those books and they're great reads!

Whats the music? I recognise part of it as being the ceoncert version of the DS9 theme but I dont know the midde section.

  • I seriously want to know what the music for this is, though... In the middle, that is. I recognize the DS9 theme =P

  • Geez, I watch this vid every day. Never gets old. I wish that the creator could make another with the newer DS9 books though...I have asked a few times. Anyone else second that? Same music fine, or extended even...Shoot man, I got the books here if he needs them scanned or something...

  • I watch this video every day. I have all the novels and read them all, but when I see Sisko in the background with Kira in uniform I get a chill every time.

  • DS9 will probably never get a feature film because many of the cast didn't like each other and it was a chore for them to work together. Besides, there have been 2 shows on since then and it is a stretch to ever think we as fans would get what we want anyway, but that dream is one I share but unfortunately will never be fulfilled. For the record, Both Daxes were hot. And if you think I mean Curzon, um...Watch the seventh season retards.

  • Where did you here that the cast didn't like each other and that it was a chore to work? That's the first i've ever heard of it.

  • No offense, but it's a pretty well-known fact. Interviews said as much, and I know a person or two that worked on the show and confirmed it. Take me at my word, there were a few actors that just didn't get along and would never have gone along for a feature film, regrettably, because I would have loved to see one.

  • @Xero328 A pretty well known fact? Where? Who didn't get along with whom? All the interviews and convention videos I've seen indicate that they got along wonderfully. Or are they just lying and pretending wonderfully at conventions?

  • Absolutely my favorite movie on youtube. I probably said it before and commented, but hey, it's as perfect now as first time I saw it...Does NOT diminsih with time. Theme came from where???

  • Voyager is the best! Seven and Janeway rock!

  • Yeah they must bring back dS9! The possibilites are endless!

The books are are brilliant thou...Lol Kira getting exiled because she was the firt to discover the prophets werent gods a all and told everyone! And then along come Opaka to the rescue! Who'd have thought Jake would rescue her!

  • Amazing how he WASN'T the avatar. I think he got a raw deal.

  • ds9 rocked: FACT! great acting, stories, script, characters... it had it all. great stuff.

  • ds9 was for me thebest startrek ever, i meanialsoliked next gen and of course enterprise, i really hated voyager cause the captain wasnt really in his role but ds9 withsisko ohdear...the ebstever

  • its all about the warfare

  • ds9 books kick the others' ass.... every ds9 book i've read still kicks ass, tng watch out cause ds9 aint ever stoppin

  • Sorry i'm Voyager fun ...

  • I still cant believe it ended. I have seen the whole show twice over now and i still cant believe it. It just feels like i am missing a season. Its by far the greatest show i have ever got in to. It has everything and i think avery brooks and the guy who plays quark are some of the finest actors. This is the show that hooked me in to watching the other trek shows and i still think this is the best.

    MAKE A FREAKIN' MOVIE PARAMOUNT.

  • Could not agree more!

  • Sweet. Makes me want to buy a book. I'm also in the process of getting stories set just after DS9. If anyone is interested. I wonder who that crazy greying commander is?

  • Thats Elias Vaughn, he's like 100 something years old lol

  • named 106 in one of the recent books.

  • thanks for the info, I knew it had to be something like that

  • I tried to get into the books, but I just thought they were kind of lame. The books only have like four members of the original crew, and a whole bunch of new characters you don't care about.

  • awesooommmmeee

  • DS9 was a not just a great trek; it was a great show.

  • I hope they make a DS9 movie before they make a Babylon 5 movie. Because Babylon 5 makes me vomit.

  • We all want a DS9 Movie......a petition was made to get Paramount to make one (in 2001, over 6 years ago), but we have yet to hear about one. You can help by signing a petition (go to Google and search: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Horizons Petition, and sign it and hopefully we will get a DS9 movie soon)

  • Could this be a sign that they are making a DS9 film? I hate the rumored idea that it's going to be set during Kirk/Spock meeting. Trek is about looking forward not backward, HELLO Paramount this is why Enterprise failed! Captain, we have discovered a new species they call them selfs the Klingons! BOOOORRRING!If they can't do a DS9 film at least END VOYAGER PLEASE! LOL Sorry for venting my anger.

  • Nope, this is just their way of making the DS9-fans enthusiatic for a bunch of books.

  • And it worked lol

  • Enterprise was what it was...Brannon Braga having too much control and putting T&A where it doesn't need to be...In every damned scene.

  • T&A?

  • tits and ass

  • Hahaha I thought maybe you meant Trip and Archer, lol.

  • Sweet, I would've signed earlier if I knew there was a petition.

  • I really want them to make another Star Trek series that doesn't suck as much as Enterprise did.

  • Awsome

  • DS9 is a great series. I'm watching and reliving it again these last weeks. Of course, not all episodes are great, but there are some unforgettable characters there and a compelling story you can see unfolding all through the seven seasons. Quite an achievement.

  • They really should make a DS9 movie. Out of every star trek show this is the best. I was compelled to watch every episode from season 1 to 7 and i enjoyed every second. The ending was so abrupt and it deserves a movie to round things up and give DS9 the ending it deserves! I never knew about those books, i best buy some :D

  • Apparently, DS9's been gaining quite a following since it ended with Season 7. Who knows perhaps we'll get to see what happened after the final episode if it carries on?

  • They had a great cast and a great show. They just lacked the budget.

  • Freaking awesome :)

  • What music is this? Oh and I hated Dax other than that it was amazing.

  • DS9 makes Babylon 5 look like an epic ! :-P

  • the DS9 relaunch books are great. this trailer to.

  • Someone's already written a book about the events after ds9, it's called Avatar I think (which is what Sikso and Cassidy's child will be). Read the first book but not the second.

  • DS9 SUFFEERED THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL STAR TREK..

IT'S AHEAD OF IT'S TIME!! FOLLOW IT WITH AN OPEN MIND FROM EPISODE 1 TO THE LAST AND YOU'LL BE BLOWN AWAY!!

MY MOVIE IDEA "RETURN OF THE EMISSARY" WHERE THE PROPHETS WILL RETURN AVERY BROOKS AND MARC ALAIMO!!

  • nice work,dude...nice music too...can I be adopted by you or you by me lol

  • I think the music was just perfect for this, enterprise music is for enterprise :P

  • what about the middle part? I know the DS9 music but what about the middle?

  • Isn't that the DS9 theme?

  • Yes, the first and last part are from "Ultimate Star Trek" and "Space and Beyond," respectively.

  • Does anyone know where that music is from?

  • I think it's time DS9 was given more credit. It may have irked some Trek traditionalists but it was by far the very best Star Trek saga ever concieved and rather that prequels, Paramount and Berman should be continuing on from DS9 as its the only series with questions yet to be answered.

  • Cant agree with that more. If not a series then at least a feature film featuring a return to DS9

  • I'm writing a series of short stories based on what happens right after DS9.

  • I have a few questions myself, which is why I'm writing a fan fiction story about it. One thing I'm wondering is what happened between Ezri and Julian. If you have read the books, don't say a thing about it.

  • nice :)

  • Brilliant! Made a friend of mine cry as it so well captured some of that old trek spirit. Love it!

  • Heh heh...cool! What is that music taken from? Would have been good for the theme music of Enterprise! :P

  • very good

  • Indeed. Pretty exciting for a series of book covers. Of course, having read the books I know how aptly each image was matched to the music. Very nicely done.

  • Wow...who would have thought a movie about a series of books would be so good..
