@DeadJesus100 After lift-off craft do not simply disappear, they remain visible for the entire duration of their journey via several means, one you may have heard of being RADAR. Every Apollo mission was tracked by several sources all the way to the moon, and all the way back again (esp. #13 because it was biggest news story of all time) If we couldn't do that we would we have no satelite tv, cell phones, sat nav, the list goes on.

The brightness of the light reflected by a planet (or the moon) from just under your feet (or from orbit) is much greater than that the brightness of the light reaching you from stars thousands of light years away. As a result it's almost impossible to capture both in the same shot. You will not find any short exposure photos anywhere than contain both a solar body and background stars. This is very basic stuff guys, are you little children or something?

And yes, one Moon gives more light than millions and millions of stars. The stars show up on uv-sensitive film, though, used by Apollo 16.

The shadow of the Earth has absolutely nothing to do with the phases. The moon is a sphere, so exactly 50% of it is always lit by the sun, the other half is in darkness. If you look straight at the full moon -- you see a disc, if you look just before the new moon -- it will all be dark. In between -- you get all the moon phases.

You can only see stars in the night-time because the sun is too bright during the day, perhaps you've noticed on Earth, even when there are no clouds in the sky (even infants know this). The lunar landings were all carried out during the daytime (morning to be more accurate), so no stars, just like here on Earth. @MrNativeDancer. The blue hue of the sky in the Earth's daytime sky comes from dust particles in the atmosphere scattering the Sun's light in all directions. In the evening when the light enters at a lower angle it passes through more atmosphere, meaning more scattering, so the colour changes from blue towards red. There is no atmosphere on the moon so the light is not scattered at all, so no colour.

However I still believe the moon landings were real, mostly due to samples brought back and other not expected findings such as lack of dust -they expected feets of it.
My biggest concern is the moon lander operating flawlessly without any means of actually trying it out beforehand. The "earth-version" almost killed Neil Armstrong. Also the rocket engine makes no noise, located just couple of feets away from the astronauts talking

The real thing was tested two times in Earth orbit. One unmanned and one with Apollo 9. It was also tested in lunar orbit with Apollo 10. So, to say it wasn't tried out in beforehand, is totally wrong.
The jet engine in a fighterplane also makes A LOT of noise just behind the pilot. Yet You can hardly here it when the pilot talks in radio.

For every aircraft there is always a first flight, and a first landing. It almost ever gets well.
Why would there be problems with "the small push jets"? All spacecraft use them. Gemini precision-manuevered and docked using them years before Apollo. No problem!
@ksmdfi If You study how the lander was built, You'll discover that inside that thin aluminum skin, there was a much stronger, cylindrical pressured cabin. With walls thicker than a jetfighters cockpit. And, don't forget that the microphones were placed in the astronauts heavily insulated spacesuits.
And, what do You mean "fly-by-wire" not available, causing a manuevering problem? The lander could even be remotely controlled. From Earth or the CSM.

In which wy could it have been tested more? Actually, NASA had planned at least one more unmanned test in Earth orbit before the first manned, but everything went so smooth, it was decided it was unnecessary.

@Countdamonie Being hurt by radiation is dependent on the type of the radiation, the intesity and the time one is exposed to it. During the moon flights, the astronauts weren't exposed to intense radiation long enough to get any symptoms. A few of them got cancer many years later, but so gets millions of people never travelling in space.
You are subjected to radiation every second. And, if You have an X-ray, You'll get a dose that would be deadly if You went on for hours.

My point is that the astronauts passed into the weaker areas of the magnetosphere and were subject to high energy particles which can cause cancers. Since the astronauts had a higher average of cancer than expected, that indicates the risk of passing through the solar wind. even NASA are saying its a cancer risk.
@forestinfullbloom That was at first glance, but then the shadows of all six descent stages were found in the right places. Even Surveyor 3 near Apollo 12 was found. They are rectangular, very long shadows because the sun is low. The four landing legs can be seen. So stop rolling on the floor and laughing out loud, nobody can hear you.

The us and nasa did not lie. Thousands of people saw the big Saturn rockets take off from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Nasa flew nine times to the moon, six of the Missions landed and brought parts of the Moon back with them! So you should be proud to be an American.

Every Apollo mission was tracked by several sources all the way to the moon, and all the way back again (esp. #13 because it was biggest news story of all time) If we couldn't do that we would we have no satelite tv, cell phones, sat nav, the list goes on.

The brightness of the light reflected by a planet (or the moon) from just under your feet (or from orbit) is much greater than that the brightness of the light reaching you from stars thousands of light years away. As a result it's almost impossible to capture both in the same shot. You will not find any short exposure photos anywhere than contain both a solar body and background stars. This is very basic stuff guys, are you little children or something?

The shadow of the Earth has absolutely nothing to do with the phases. The moon is a sphere, so exactly 50% of it is always lit by the sun, the other half is in darkness. If you look straight at the full moon -- you see a disc, if you look just before the new moon -- it will all be dark. In between -- you get all the moon phases.

You can only see stars in the night-time because the sun is too bright during the day, perhaps you've noticed on Earth, even when there are no clouds in the sky (even infants know this). The lunar landings were all carried out during the daytime (morning to be more accurate), so no stars, just like here on Earth. @MrNativeDancer. The blue hue of the sky in the Earth's daytime sky comes from dust particles in the atmosphere scattering the Sun's light in all directions. In the evening when the light enters at a lower angle it passes through more atmosphere, meaning more scattering, so the colour changes from blue towards red. There is no atmosphere on the moon so the light is not scattered at all, so no colour.

However I still believe the moon landings were real, mostly due to samples brought back and other not expected findings such as lack of dust -they expected feets of it.
My biggest concern is the moon lander operating flawlessly without any means of actually trying it out beforehand. The "earth-version" almost killed Neil Armstrong. Also the rocket engine makes no noise, located just couple of feets away from the astronauts talking

@ksmdfi The "moon lander earth-version" was only a training vehicle with no similarity to the lander. Not even designed and built by the same company.
The real thing was tested two times in Earth orbit. One unmanned and one with Apollo 9. It was also tested in lunar orbit with Apollo 10. So, to say it wasn't tried out in beforehand, is totally wrong.
The jet engine in a fighterplane also makes A LOT of noise just behind the pilot. Yet You can hardly here it when the pilot talks in radio.

Besides the propulsion used on the lander, small push jets, are almost impossible to handle without fly-by-wire, which wasn't available in the days. Still all the crews handled it just like parking a car? Rocket engine noise=jet engine noise? The lander was a buildt like a tin-can to save weight. Jet fighters are not.

@ksmdfi The lander was, as I said, tested even in Earth orbit. The astronauts did extensive training (hundreds of hours), not only in the test-rigs (one of which Armstrong ejected from), but also in static simulators.
For every aircraft there is always a first flight, and a first landing. It almost ever gets well.
Why would there be problems with "the small push jets"? All spacecraft use them. Gemini precision-manuevered and docked using them years before Apollo. No problem!

With walls thicker than a jetfighters cockpit. And, don't forget that the microphones were placed in the astronauts heavily insulated spacesuits.
And, what do You mean "fly-by-wire" not available, causing a manuevering problem? The lander could even be remotely controlled. From Earth or the CSM.

In which wy could it have been tested more? Actually, NASA had planned at least one more unmanned test in Earth orbit before the first manned, but everything went so smooth, it was decided it was unnecessary.

During the moon flights, the astronauts weren't exposed to intense radiation long enough to get any symptoms. A few of them got cancer many years later, but so gets millions of people never travelling in space.
You are subjected to radiation every second. And, if You have an X-ray, You'll get a dose that would be deadly if You went on for hours.

This is quickest done with copy pasting the relevant lines in Sky & Telescope.
Lunar gamma rays come from thorium on the Moon, copy pasting KREEP results shows that there is very little thorium.

Well, it seems to me that if you do NOT walk on the Moon you could die of bone cancer, lung cancer or brain cancer. If you DO walk on the Moon you could die of a heart attack or leukemia. A heart attack is twice as likely as leukemia.

My point is that the astronauts passed into the weaker areas of the magnetosphere and were subject to high energy particles which can cause cancers. Since the astronauts had a higher average of cancer than expected, that indicates the risk of passing through the solar wind. even NASA are saying its a cancer risk.

@forestinfullbloom That was at first glance, but then the shadows of all six descent stages were found in the right places. Even Surveyor 3 near Apollo 12 was found. They are rectangular, very long shadows because the sun is low. The four landing legs can be seen. So stop rolling on the floor and laughing out loud, nobody can hear you.

The us and nasa did not lie. Thousands of people saw the big Saturn rockets take off from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Nasa flew nine times to the moon, six of the Missions landed and brought parts of the Moon back with them! So you should be proud to be an American.
I looked up the radiation and it is about .25 rem/h in the van Allen belt, this radiation can be tolerated for weeks.
