  • Why am I giving up being an RAC officer to go to Univeristy. I would rather join the RAc and fight than be in front of a computer all day at Uni. Seriosuly if the Army offered alot more for officers I would be applying in a heartbeat.

  • @X9000BulletsX I totally agree with you mate, I'm all ready to join the AAC with the prime motive of being a pilot - But Officers get a comparatively short time of flying before they're moved to a lesser (desk) role, whereas an NCO can fly as long as he's fit for it. That's why I'm at Uni, otherwise I wouldn't of hesitated, plus I could be posted anywhere at RMAS. Look on the bright side - as and when we do get in, well get better pay!

  • @natsplit

The only difference between smoothbore and rifled is that rifled is more accurate and they are keeping the cannon 120mm and will shoot the same ammo as it does now so the cannon will be even worse

By the way the ammo the challenger 2 shoots now will knock out any known tank out on the battlefield

And don't bother questioning me as I am a gunner of a challenger 2 tank

  • @Alex555666555

The problem with rifled cannons is, that the muzzle velocity is much lower.

The Challangers APFSDS round (charm 3) has a penetration of about 400mm rha.

Leopard2, M1A2 Abrams, T90M... all withstand 400mm rha with ease.

  • @natsplit 400mm? Really that low? If you're right than the penetration is really low compared to modern smoothbore guns.

  • @TheBigTittyTwister

Ja.

  • If i joined the army I would wanna drive that!

  • id love to use that on the gypo's!

  • impressive video...but hey...huys...earplugs?? are you kiding me?

  • ahhh there's the 1 troop massive!! A squadron all the way!!! shame it wasnt my wagon though :S

nd yea he is right its chobham, never heard the word chobbels before in my life, nd i work on em everyday!

  • I went to this, its a fire power demonstration you get to go in all the tanks and that then they show every weapon and vehicle firing (Y) awsome!!

  • @Finchy332 Finchy if you go to my site i have up loaded the whole demo...

  • Leopart 2 A6 German figher and TechnickPower Worlds Best Tank German Rules

Challenger 2 is on 2.Place in the world list

  • @TheMGness

Leopard 2 A6 --- You need to have had experience in order to come out with a comment like that. Unfortunately I doubt anyone has used all the worlds tanks in a combat environment/theatre. Have you fought with or against all the tank crews of the world, to know what your talking about? Or are you just speaking with big bollocks between your cheeks? There's no doubt in my mind most modern tanks can do the business. German engineering is world class, but it's not alone!

  • @scaredweepel

The Challanger2 is a great tank but totally useless, because of its main cannon.

It can't destroy ANY modern tank. I hope they switch to a smoothbore cannon soon.

  • @natsplit

WTF? we are not in a war when we need to destroy tanks.

having a rifled Barrel increases accuracy.

Unlike American Tanks. which can't Hit anything more than 100 yards away.

  • @natsplit

Can a great tank be totally useless?

  • @CDStoner

    Don't get me wrong.

CH2 is totally useless in tank vs. tank scenarios.

For asymmetric warfare like in Iraq or Afghanistan its perfect.

  • @natsplit

In world war 2 tigers and panthers to name but a few reigned supreme, and it took allot of other tanks to take each one out.

What I'm trying to say is that there is no heavy modern tank alive that can withstand a direct hit from another heavy modern tank (Yes the tank might be okay and repairable, but the crew will be fucked up).

Not allot of peeps know this.

Ex CH2 crewman who served with A Sqn 1RTR who are in this video.

  • @natsplit you are talking as though this is a computer game, where the biggest gun wins. In real life tank warfare is much different, there are many ways to kill a tank without blowing it into tiny pieces. Tankers ( gunners and layers etc) are taught to aim for vital areas, such as tracks, turret joins or engines/exhaust areas. If any of these are hit it will destroy or disable the vehicle. An RPG or Panzerfaust (etc) have a far smaller chance of penetrating, but can still cause severe damage

  • @TheMGness lol better than an abrams huh?

  • waste of ammo lol no wonder they cant make there own shit.

  • where they shootin at?

  • the gypos!

  • they are shooting at salsbuiry steaks

  • chobbel armour f'in lovely stuff

  • it's Chobham armor.

  • whatever, every1 pronounces it chobbels ^

  • Actually, id say that no one pronounces it chobbels.

  • listen to it! how can any other tank best it? joining up next year, RAC, looking forward to it

  • yo dude live in warminster and i recognise those challys in the warminster colours

  • u guys have ear muffs on take em off mate and ull see how the real sound is

  • i was there, good vid mate, but you really dont get the same feel of just how loud the boom of the chally is, so much more impressive in person.

  • those challys are loud as fook , i was driving one of the warriors you saw and it nearly deafened me lol even with my head set on

  • bet htey're a laugh though :D

thinking of signing up dude, is it worth it?

  • ive done nearly 5 years mate and ive loved bits an hated bits, im getting out in september tho cos of loadsa reasons , the only regrets i have is not getting a trade before i joined because the infantry doesnt offer you any decent qualifications for civvy street. Id recomend joining something like the reme or the engineers unless you wanna be a hard faced killere lol hope that helped a bit
