  • @keeneytuka, also, thanks so much for sharing, sadly, I only found limited information online

  • @keeneytuka, do you stay in touch with Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Mann, or Sonny Burgess who are still around from Sun, or maybe Stan or Greg Perkins (sons of Carl Perkins) ?

  • shoknifeman, No he is no longer with us, He passed away April 27,2004. I sure do miss him. Yes he was very talented and he had that beautiful singing voice all the way to the end. He would often break out in song. Roy use to have jam sessions with my dad a long time ago. It was on reel to reel, but we don't know who he gave that stuff to. It just disappeared. He never said anything about it to any of us kids, So we don't know who ended up with it.

  • Sorry to hear that he's gone

  • NO this is Ken Cook..I should know i am his daughter...Dad just did'nt want to pursue this career so he had a family instead..but he and Roy were still good friends, even though they drifted apart like so many of us when we get older

  • Is he still with us? Does he still sing at all? He could have been great!

  • and...While I love Roy O's version of this song (original name Problem child, 1957); I think I slightly prefer this version for it's comparative rawness!

  • Despite his early promise as a singer, Ken Cook never fully emerged from the shadow of his mentor Roy Orbison. Signed to Sun Records in 1958, he left behind a handful of songs that have delighted archival listeners for decades, including a version of Orbison's "Don't Be Runnin' Wild (Problem Child)" and a duet with Orbison of "I Was a Fool." His other singles included "Crazy Baby" and "Thinkin' Tonight of My Blue Eyes."

  • Great recording. More Ken Cook!!!

  • This IS roy doing some harmonies w another, BUT who is that guy???? I've asked that quest for sooo many yrs, and do NOT tell me it's Ken Cook, IF so , who is (was) ken C?? It was roy....

  • Now that you say it, it kinda sounds like Roy Orbison...It said Ken Cook on the CD where I got this though.

  • Well i'm confused about this, but i've heard that Roy after leaving Sun sometimes went to Memphis and Sun and visited good friends, and then did some unofficial work as vocalist, guitarist and producer.Ken Cook are told to came from Texas, and Roy introduced Ken for Sam Phillips and that led to this cut etc ??

  • I Think this is roy orbison and anyone else
