My grandma used to live in the pathway that led towards an air force base. We would see planes at low altitudes fly by all the time. Seeing a shuttle launch in your backyard is even cooler!
What's the prop plane doing in the background that close to the airspace. I recognize a prop plane anywhere... I live in the Air Capital Of The World.
Is this the shuttle with the female commander? Isn't it interesting how politicos talk about the "glass ceiling" for females in America as a case for Hillary to be President and yet we have women commanding in space? Glass ceiling indeed. Pffft.
to the space station to add a docking port the size of a school bus, btw: Luke Skywalkers lightsaber from Return of the Jedi is on board to celebrate the 30th anniversary of starwars, lol.
I was just watching the launch on the news, to see it here and a personal filming of it is awesome. You are right, I have never had the chance to see this sort of thing in person before, it is pretty darn cool. Thanks for sharing it
That is pretty cool, I couldn't even imagine. One of these days I do want to see a shuttle launch in person though, I think it would just be something else entirely.
yeah, going to the cape and watching is very different than from your backyard, but driving there and the possibility of it not going up makes it dubious to drive there.
your backyard kicks ass

LOL, are you kidding? That's classic, I'm surprised NASA "took the risk."

It is cool Wyatt, five minutes after launch the sound hits us and rattles the windows, it is sooo cool.

I hear you, so what your saying is I need to set up a camp site and start squatting in your back yard? I can work with that I suppose
