Thanks, the perl script creates large arrays and large batch files that invoke POVRAY to create the animation. I tried a few times to use POVRAY's built in clock variable for animation, however, found it easier to use external scripts to create the animations.
But for what you need the PERL script. IMHO one can do that with the PovRay scripting (filefunctions to store state of the objects) alone... or am I wrong?

Oh yes, I imagine that is possible too. I know a little PERL and a little POVRAY, but not too much of either.
I was trying to keep as much automation in PERL as possible.
