My bad...you are right about the BS. And it does resemble the PH somewhat...use to run the Ohio alot...born and raised up there...don't see it much anymore.
it is a Southern Towing boat. its an old turd roller called the Baxter Southern. and that is the Mississippi not the "Big Muddy". the big muddy is a river in Illinois, but more often the Missouri River is called Big Muddy also
I'll agree that this is a STC boat, but I don't believe it is the Baxter Southern, as that boat is a 4 decker Greenville boat. It is the Capt. Richard Sides (as Barrygrif mentioned below)...worked this boat MANY times when running under the Campbell flag on the upper Ohio as the P.H. Stephaich.
ACL- american commercial lines correct? Im fixin to go this coming month to start work with them can you give me an idea of what it is like? did they give you a hard time when you first started?
From the best I can tell that is the "Capt. Richard Sides" of the Southern Towing Company fleet. She was originally the Phillip Sporn of the ACBL fleet when built by Jeffboat.
Hey, I'm not being disrespectful when I say this. Thoes aren't ACBL (ACL now) colors. Looks like MTC or something. ACBL has red/white/blue flags and on the stacks, and on the forward nameboard. Also, we paint our stacks black, it's a company wide thing. I work on the Upper Mississippi for them. Other companies might push ACL barges.
that looks like the mudd hole down at the lower end of the big Miss. at the turn inhole 2 your left. am i right are wronge
