The unarmed woman was a soldier. If she had been shot in the leg or arm and still died would that make it any better? Would it make it any better if she had been a man? Would it even have made it better if she had been armed? A soldier is a soldier. The IRA didn't have the capability to take prisoners, they had no POW camps.
