  • great video, brave man, i also have SA/AvPD and find it hard to walk in places like that

  • Wow!! I could NOT do this! I felt so anxious just watching it and looking at all the people go by! You are so brave and inspirational, I hope that one day I can do something like this.

  • i feel so all watching this video! you tower over everbody :P im not used to that perspective when walking through crowded places :) anyways great video mate i think im gonna do the same thing =)

  • you had so much courage to do this! I have SA too and can appreciate how hard it must have been. And I had a random thought too, at first as you were walking through the mall I was thinking 'why is this filming so high up?' then I realised you must be way taller than me, haha. I'm so short and it was cool to see things from a taller persons viewpoint. XD

  • nice ass 2:42 - 2:48 xD

  • I got nervous just watching this! you are very brave. im stuck inside the house today... i want to get some stuff from town but am scared :( another set back for me.

  • good job man

  • With me, as I walked into that shopping center, the further I got in the more anxious I would get. I need an EXIT point at all times or I'll go into a full blown PA. Think that is a little deeper than anxiety, but oh well shit happens. Cool video

  • Dunno how you done this lol

  • Good for you, man.

  • only people with this phobia would understand how hard this is lol,,,honestly i have learned alot from your videos and i thought i had all he answers, becuase im the sort of person that becomes to feel caged in , breathless and really violent under a situation like this its almost like being threatend isnt it? anyway keep it up

  • Omg like you are doing so well. And like i saw you that day and like i can see my self on your video. like totally well done. XX

  • this is inspiring, respect to you for having the discipline and determination it takes to do these kinds of exposure challenges! you'll get where you want to be soon enough, stay patient. 10/10

  • Wow, just watching this one gave ME anxiety. You have so much courage.

  • Wow, thats what i call hard work.

  • Good Lord! you have guts, buddy! Amazing your progress! i have watched all your videos and i can see a really big difference! Good job!

  • Read my story/ comments from down to above

Sorry for all the comments LOL :P

Just wanted to expres myself and i needed that many comments :)

bye the way srry for bad english and i don't want to offend your for your exposure its a good thing but i don't think is gonna cure u in the near future let alone 40+ years

  • but your creative mind thats easily gets bored so you really need to find a hobby thats fits you, for charles was that photography.

Sorry for long story but just wanted to express my opion and wanted to hear your opions about it read the website etc. bye.

send me a message so we can disccus things about this stuff...

  • and eventually and you don't get scared any more about the sensations the cycle breaks and the sensations fade away so as your SA ! that is what i have readed about it don't know what else is in the book of the linden method. Remember find a hobby that totally distracts you, you can't now have a hobby like playing tennis or running etc.

  • and 3. divert your mind into hobby ( find a hobby that makes you forget you are anxious!! a creative hobby, because your mind get easily bored and then its start to focus again on your sensations) you have great passion about it and really stick to it, so your mind find it more interresting then focussing on your sensations and you learn by that new non-anxious behaviour neural pathways that it is safe

  • it makes you only cope with it you stay in that situation but you won't never get over your fear of the sensations !!! JUST GET IT !

I don't have the linden method yet but i have readed about: 1. look at the outside world and not your innerworld (daydream, to much thinking etc.) 2.don't search your condition so also no SA youtube video's your are only reminding your mind that your are an anxious person

  • they don't get in your mind The only thing what they see is that you have a fear of people whats absolutely bullsh*t as have readed above ... blablabal,, yeah your not stupid you know that yourself and the only crap they can think about is .... your thoughts are not real say to yourself thats its only in your mind blabla and do some exposure bullshit ( what really isn't working for the last 7 years)

    I

  • I just want to say in this big long story stop with, exposure thing (not bad you don't need to be isolated) it won't cure you , cbt, coping strategies and psychologist

because what the hell do they know about anxiety !!! they even don't have themselfs! so they don't know nothing about it !!! only that people with SA have unrealistic fear and they are gonna help you with there non-anxious perspective views on it,

  • because our mind sees that as the threat and when you are around people you get more sensations of because of that memory and then you go consciously focus on it and then you make even more adrealine which causes more sensations cycle...!

  • your sensations are the real cause your mind reads that as a threat!

now really think hard do you really think that you be scared to dead if you don't find any sensation like short of breathness of racing heart if you don't fear it ?!

do you think that you will still be scared of people ? no you won't if you athlete runs 20km and his heart beats as hell would he be scared of it ? no he won't but thats the problem with our anxiety disorder suffers we are subconsciously scared of it

  • you are on constant focus on your sensations subconsciously and because your mind sees that as a threat its releasing even more adrealine so you get more sensation etc. cycle ! and people are just the cause and memory of your high anxiety, so you need to adress the high anxiety and not the fucking bullshit exposure thing because its not working at all ! you only learn to cope with it !!!

  • Im not afraid of people ! im afraid by my sensations racing heart tigling short of breath etc. thats a big difference isn't it ? i see many youtuber with SA say they are afraid of people you aren't afraid of them ! if you truly look at it at the deep core you find that you are afraid of the the sensations 10 out 10 i will bet money that you don't even feel relax (look for sensations) at home alone because of your high anxiety all day long with or without people.

  • I have done exposure all my fucking life since i was 12 year old i suffer from SA and im still anxious now and im almost 20 ! Nothing has changed really, before that i was actually a very popular kid very extraverted person by nature and now im a completely different person but still extraverted by nature.

I have no school can't hold a job for more then a few months and a few hours a week.

  • Nice video! ''(sorry for long story , just what i think about SA )

Has anyone tried linden method ?

Its seems charles linden is closer to the truth, because what you gonna read below(scroll down for linden divert etc.) is the same thing i did to overcome my choking in my food phobia when i was around 8 years old lasted 1 year...

  • hallo

  • good medicine :). n also you've come a long way. Watched the first few n these last few. Ur kicking the anxiety's ass! Best Wishes -L

  • man, i wish every SA person could just meet up outside, but i cant really find anyone or group near me for SA and i need it so bad lol

  • I was getting anxious just watching this. Congrats on a great exposure.

  • You did an amazing job! I would have died if i tried that! Keep up the good work mate!

  • Jesus i froze up when that guy done that pose to your camera, I definatley knew he was going to do something along the lines. Just looked the type =P

Yah handled yahself really well anywhoo, I'm all for walking through busy streets and such but wielding a camera to possibily give u so much attention...AND... with the commentary, certaintly hope i can reach those lengths some day 8).

  • Mark Exposure Exposure Exposure the only way to go just thought of a good backing track to this video.

    (Somebody's Watching Me by rockewell)

having social phobia anxiety which stops me in away to hardly ever go out could be agoraphobia only go with a trusted person to certain settings

  • mate, you reacted amazingly well to the guy who wanted to get on camera! i used to tense up, but you just laughed and carried on. awesome

  • haha, achey from bowling!

so good to hear what i was wanting to say.... that all those people weren't really noticing you at all! look at them, they are just bored and out shopping. good work man, you are doing well

  • I' ve been watching your videos and enjoyed them, learned some more English :) and what I particularly enjoyed was seeing these English towns. You seem to really be making progress, good luck with that!

  • amazing job!!!

  • that was brilliant.. this is so worth doing.. i actually did something similar the other day.. and it really hits home.. the fact that the majority really are thinking mostly about themselves, it's such an amazing feeling, the feeling that you can pretty much do anything and they wouldn't care, with SA it's so easy to forget that your not the center of the world, your not the target..

  • A little while ago, you were someone with social anxiety who admired others. Now you are the one being admired by others. Congratz.

  • Your strong for doing this man. Hope I can one day.

  • 3:09 child goes SPLAT

  • Wow, I've watched your videos way back when you had the other vids, Remember, the first vid with the yellow hue?

Boy, times have changed. This video is evidence you're becoming "bulletproof" to social anxiety.

You have made a great step and encourage us to do the same. Keep up with the vids and helping people have better quality lives. You have a special gift I believe but it's double-edged (sensitivity to everything, analysis). We all need to constantly remind ourselves of that. Thx!

  • 3:38 :D

I was wondering. I know how to upload a single video, but I'm not sure how you edit two or more together and upload it as one. Do you use any basic video editing software or something that I could get a hold of.

I plan on joining the SA community soon. Need to get another account started and figure all this out first.

  • Use Windows Movie Maker. It should already be on your computer if you have Windows. Then insert 2 separate video clips one after the other, then save them as one movie.

  • You really have guts to not just do exposure therapy, but to do it with a video camera while you're narrating. Five stars.

  • Yay Chelmsford! I'm only live about 30 mins from there.

  • great accomplishment! I'm impressed that you were able to being anxious, walking, filming, talking at the same time.

  • dude ur are starting to give me courage to try this.

  • this is impressive my friends, you have come a long way.

  • For some reason, the video will just stop playing so I can't watch the entire video right now. But darn, I hope one day I can get to the point I'm able to record myself in places like that.

  • Yeah for some reason my videos do that when they've just been uploaded. It should be ok in a few hours.

Well, you make videos and that takes a lot of guts, so I think you'll get there sooner than you think! Just keep doing what you're doing and push yourself a little further each time.

  • wow you are so brave, i could never do that

  • I would be scared of some "official" coming up to me and saying.."Hey, you can't film in here." LOL

    But anyway, nicely done!

  • Awesome! How did you feel after doing it? I imagine a nice boost of confidence.

  • awesome! well done :)

  • wow, i dont think i could do that, well done!
