  • This has to be one of David's greatest work of art. So much pain so much soul so much voice so much range. That strong throaty voice so unique. This song makes you cry.......................only Mr Ruffin could that.

  • This is what I call music !

everyone and especially Justin Bieber need to take this man as an example

  • Mr. Ruffin was good but one thing he forgot the Temptation was a group. Do not get me wrong it was Ruffin that help make the Temptation. Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, and Melvin Franklin all played a part too.

  • LOVE U DAVID! REST IN PEACE

  • love the fact, that despite him having this hoarse sounding voice...it was strong, he has that high pitch falsetto! awesome

  • I love soul music, until they close my casket.

  • @jonez2020 Let em know! same here! Til the casket closes!

  • This is what "True Greatness" sounds like..

  • one of the greatest voices right here.

  • @DAROCKNESSMONSTAH 100% agree...so soulful!!!

  • He's a very soulful singer and should have had a better career and life!

  • david should've song the star spangled banner can you imagine how that would've sounded

  • David could make the most mudane song a living, breathing testament. I wish I got into his music when he was still alive. If you listened 2 the entire "Whole World" LP, you can tell that David was hurting; from the rumors about Tammi and his fight with Motown. People r always talking about his 'ego' but hell, who in the music business DOESN'T have ego? David has gotten an unfair rap from people trying to make him the poster boy 4 their own insecurities.

  • I'm only 22 and my Mama and Daddy put me up on the old School.... I'm glad they did cause i would of missed out on real music like this David ruffin tune. R.I.P. pimpin

  • . . . His hands were scaringly HUGE. ;-)

  • Hey blues..sure would like to have "Heaven Help Us All" posted...

  • @blues676 wonderful, as usual!!!!!!!!!!

  • @blues676 "Everlasting Love". I've never heard it.

  • he is so sexy on that album cover!

  • David was right...the Temptations without David Ruffin would have been nothing but a group in search of a David Ruffin.

  • he was good but i like them when they got really funky. pluse melvin was alway my boy

  • I agree in part but Dennis Edwards was an awesome addition!!!

  • @IAMNathanielRGay You are so right!!! He was the group

  • @IAMNathanielRGay u know what they say about opinions.I prefer the great Eddie Kendricks anyday myself

  • @IAMNathanielRGay im guessing you got that from the movie how the hell do you know he actually said that

  • Papoose killed that sample

  • ain't this sampled on the biggie duets cd?

  • Already made this sample

  • David interpreted lyrics with the soul of his own emotions..He didn't just sing..He felt every word!! He was "The Master"

  • just love the screachin and ohs and oooohs..bliss..how is it this sorta soul isnt better known..

  • im gonna sample this shit. gyeah

  • oh my goodness i love this mans music so much.

  • love this song

  • DAVID RUFFIN

    *Born in Mississippi

    *His daddy was a preacher

*His mother died before he was 5

*His talent has been praised by the likes of Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin

*His nephew was the late great Rick James

Rest peacefully, Mr. Ruffin. To me, you always have been and always will be the voice of the Temptations.

    DAVID RUFFIN (1941-1991)

  • @BlackPhenom7 Rick James was Melvin's nephew. Not David's.

  • @cowboys3000 david was melvin's cousin

  • I truly hurt's my soul when I listen to Mr. Ruffin sing. He was so talented and like so many other talented artist made bad choice's and are no longer with us. I just wished that Mr. Ruffin and the other's could of reached out for help. It would be possible that if they did some of them could still be with us today. May they all rest in peace and know they are all missed very much.

  • The best ever......bar none....

  • ouch that hurt............DAVID and the bad Funk Brothers. Listen at those drums. The motown drummers are the best. David I felt your pain I walked that mile.

  • Thanks for this song , the man was so talented , but he double crossed not only by friends but by those who worked with him. In his songs you can hear the pain and hurt.

  • Right on. I believe so. I think people were insanely jealous of this man. He was probably very depressed - b/c when he sang he gave it his all. He should have won many Grammy awards. I think he is the best singer out there - with no comparison.

  • i love his songs hes the man

  • i really enjoy listening to this song i can relate to it and so can anyone who has ever listened to it Mr. Ruffin was the greatest

  • None better than Mr.Ruffin!!

  • @jous1rufn The group was had hits and well known before David but he did take the group to another level with his talent and truthful Dennis couln't compare.

  • @cassieann1000 - what hits did the Temps have before David? From what I know, their first real hit was "The Way You Do The Things You Do" and he was in the group by then.

  • @juneynupe The first song that I remember was "Farewell My Love" in 1961 or 1962 and then in 1963 was "I Want A Love I Can See" and "Don't Look Back" with Paul Williams on lead and all were hits in our neighborhoods and we used to jam off of those records at our little teen house parties. "The Way You Do The Things You Do" was the first major hit and even at that time I did not know that David was in the group, until the movie. When "My Girl" was released, I remember seeing the "New Guy".

  • @cassieann1000 - thanks for the info.

  • man those brothers could dress back when.

  • To DandJ Ruffin, I was also thinking the very same thing when I heard this song for the first time.

  • I think David Ruffin knows exactly what he's talking about.

    Great song. Thanks for sharing.

  • more coming soon

  • thanks''lololjust what i want--looking for more carl marshall--

  • David Ruffin rocks the world,.ktf.

  • another brill track, thanx

  • love this song--this is singing!!
