Amazing song. Stunning looping chorus, powerful "choir" effect that just gets stronger. Non traditional break up POV &, eloquently bittersweet lyrics . And the modulating outro chorus just builds in epicness to a majesty unrivalled in music. Arguably their greatest and definitely their most underrated.

ABBA should have recorded and released 'Dance - While The Music Still Goes On' in 1982/1983 as their way of saying goodbye. I have always thought that is song sounds like they are saying goodbye even though it was released in 1974.

It is available on CD....The song was recorded on September 24th, 1973 and can still be purchased . It was offered on their album "ABBA Waterloo " which was released on March 4th, 1974! Thanks for looking in.

I drove my brother crazy with this song in 1974 , I let the record play over and over and over. Geez i miss buying those 45 rpms. I still have all my records from way back.,At least 450 of them. Great slideshow. The intro pic of Agnetha is.. fabulous. She always had something in her eyes that's so beautiful and a bit melancholy. Her first 2 sentences (the first 8 seconds) in this song is stuck in my mind forever since about 15 years. It's extremely appealing to me. You know they were such a great team! Why knock either couple. They were equally beautifully. They weren't obsessed about being sexie like music bands are today..........they brought there very best to every song. They are seen world wide as a successfull band, not individually. Well said C! It seems like Abba was about 50/50 as far as their songs were concearned. Half were sad because they were written during their personal struggles in their lives. The happy ones seemed to happen much earlier. Makes sense actually!
