with my city we have 2 way enter but door 6 because its for a fire boat and a serach and rescue truck and its are main station so it has the biggest truck in there witch is are 10 story later
@MadPropsToTheHood Originally, CFD was started by a ship captain or something of that sorts, the green light is just like how on ships there is a green light on the starbord side. They have at least one green light on every one or their trucks.
@343HFD I thought that a green light designated a paramedic unit, and units with green lights have the right of way if multiple emergency vehicles were to come to the same intersection running code.
@JoelPodlaski Tradition. Its and old story that dates back to the 1930s when a fire commissioner, formerly in the Navy, adopted the port and starboard naval light scheme for all apparatus. You can see these green and red lights at the sides of the firehouses too.
@JoelPodlaski Actually i thought it was for more of a "request of the right of way" as i see most volunteer firefighters are rolling with the green lights up north or well in parts of canada and while some down here uses Red/Clear in their POV, though some trucks i see green on there rear beacons
@typarker07 and for their engine COs they use Spartan and Crimson chassis but theyve been using them since i think '04-05 but ive seen a new ladder on Spartan.com of a CFD Spartan Glaidator CFD TrucK Co. theyre pretty neat

Question why do they have green lights on the front of that engine
01721jh 7 months ago 2
I don't really see why they need a siren for backing into a garage?

@04smallmj A lot of colours are more visible than red, that's why it's used in certain jobs.
