  • To every guitarist who criticizes this video I saw the same thing.

How many guitarist does it take to replace a light bulb? Answer...20..1 to change the light bulb and 19 to tell him he is going it wrong or they could do a better job of it.

  • When you record with pod farm do you record first as clean and then add in the plug in?

  • 6:37 i was actually laughing my ass of

  • CAn i use mixer isntead of guitar port or line 6 tonepoerter?

  • can you adjust the knobs or no?

  • @Wolvve You can adjust knobs and everything else.

  • Is the regular pod farm with 24 guitar amps any good for metal? I really don't want to spend too much money on it...

  • Thanks for the demonstration dude, I want to buy this thing.

  • Hi,I don't know why, when I plug in my POD X3 Live into the computer while using this software, the presets doesn't seem to connect with my POD X3 Live, but I have checked the prefences,it really connected. But I don't know what's the problem, the presets in my computer just seem not going into my POD X3 Live. Hope anyone here can help me. =)

  • Do u have to by all the little tube screamer.

  • @Mr23Metallica You mean the different effects and stuff? The software comes with a lot of them, but there are packages available to buy that add other tones.

  • what does this program cost?

  • @pigwood95 It came with the GuitarPort I bought that cost $99

  • you obviously have no clue what you're doing

  • @buntybabydoll433 Clearly. I think I used the software for 20 minutes when I made this vid. =D

  • can these be compatable with a footswitch

  • @ 1:20 sounds lke anestesia by metallica:D

    good software and interface

  • will this sound good with speakers that came with my computer or do i need good speakers?

  • if i'd buy the toneport gx 2 by line six, will i find this program inside? thx

  • @thedeadliest

yes you will and 2 more recording softwares: ableton or audacity not sure and riffworks

  • can you connect a pedel to control the dist/cleans ??

  • 5 stars! nicely done.

  • wow you eq ur amps like a typical dumbass dont you? lol

  • @whitechapel696969 Sure. Seeing as I was tossing down amp models without any real focus on dialing in tones, just showing that you can customize pretty much everything with the models. Plus it was being run in through a line-in port through onboard audio that I admit sounds like turd.

Running the Guitarport directly to my monitors sounds a lot better, but I haven't really used my modeling stuff in a while.

  • @whitechapel696969 hahah for real, especially L6 shit u have to be real subtle with the changes, do yall selves a favor, Run Podfarm as a VST thru REVALVER or ur DAW and turn OFF the speaker SIM ON PODFARM\POD then run KEFIR IR loader and load some high quality impulses, youll never look back, i suggest REDWIREZ which are paid but can be gotten to if u savvy.

  • hey man nice!! can u tell me HOW TO USE FOOTSWITCH??? :(

  • @savasavram Dunno. Haven't touch Pod Farm or any of my Line6 stuff in a while. Never used a footswitch with it.

  • @ein311 thank you for the answer :)

  • Can i hear myself playing while using Pod Farm?

  • @ForceUnleasher12345 yes, you can of course! You have to set the latency very short, so that the sound is not too late. In this reason your computer has to work a bit harder, but that should be not a huge problem. I'm using it too and it's possible to use it like a real amp ;) have fun!

  • I cant get the dang volume to work on mine! GOD! its annoying as hell!

  • @hurricaneofrock same dude

  • podd farm sucks

  • @hiladelphia cool story bro. And it's "POD"

  • @ein311 Yeah I know its POD, MR. Grammar. Have fun with your shitty software.

    Have a nice day Sir.

  • @hiladelphia Correcting "podd" had nothing to do with grammar, idiot.

  • @hiladelphia why does it suck?

  • I'm thinking about buying the studio GX and the pod Farm is delivered with. But with this software if I wan't to play and put some effects like delay I suppose I will ear it while I play, not after recording?

    thanks!

  • @GDim yupp, the line 6 drivers/ interfaces are extremely low lag. You can hear the effects and play your guitar with them on, with no noticable lag.

  • why does Line 6 POD Farm Require iLok? i read it on amazon...

    im really confused :S

ive got the software but i need the thing to plug my guitar to the computer.

what do/can i use for this...?

    please help

  • @RobbieBarnby iLok is a security measure to defend against software piracy. They're $40~$50. Kind of sucks, but thanks to piracy most companies need some way to protect their valuable work and assets against those who try to steal it.

  • is this free??

  • Hey!

Check out my profile please to hear a song I've recorded via pod farm , its called "The MentaL".

    Thanks.

    Dan

  • I always hated line6, someone gave me a pocketpod, was blown away, and now i want this software!

  • The software is good

BUT the amps that come with it are a average and muddy the ones you can buy for $50 are amazing tho.

  • if plug your guitar in the computer and open PODfarm is the sound automatically the sound you have made in PODfarn??

  • What Amp are you playing through

IF you are playing through an amp?

  • nah man he wont be playing through an amp,

thats the whole point in this computer software, you just run your guitar through an audio interface and run this software, and this has loads of ready made preset amp sounds for you to use, its pretty damn awesome if you ask me!

  • Ya I know but true musicians will run it into the effects loop of there amp just so they don't lose that precious tone of life for say.... Tube Amps.

I run both (not at the same time) Guitar Rig 4 Pro and Pod Farm KB37 THROUGH

my Peavey just so all that beautiful tone doesn't get lost in the mix by running them in PARALLEL instead of running them in series BEFORE the amp.Sounds so good this way. Or hell just plug into the

PA system at a gig. There are a lot of ways. Later.

  • @brib333

it doesn't make you a true musician.

that's nothing to do with it.

  • @chrislawman91 Haha yeah! It's pretty awesome, but the cool thing is you can actually play it through your amp like I do, but yeah, I totally agree with you. It's amazing!

  • the Spinal Puppet is AWESOME!!!!

I have the KB37 with the POD FARM Platinum. Pretty wild. I also have Guitar Rig 4 Pro w/ Kontrol Rig 3. Pretty nice both of them. But I think Guitar Rig 4 is better.

  • I just ordered the GX. Can't wait to finally get a clear input tone, and all the awesome effects and amps.

  • BEER SONG at the end ftw!

  • When I connect my guitar and play with this program, I can see that it has registered my it since the green bars are going up and down as I play. But there is coming NO SOUND? What can I do?

  • see on the bottom left of your screen there is the time and then to the left of that theres the volume control button? right click that. go to recording devices. then on the new window select digital audio interface. in the new window, click the tab labeled "listen" check in the box that says listen to this device and underneath that on the scroll down thing click "Speakers (high def audio device)" and then hit apply

    hope this helps

  • you need to hook speakers to the ux2

  • @bluestripedtiger put headphones in or speakers

  • @bluestripedtiger like into the pod gx, not the computer

  • your computer could be on mute, or your speakers, or the speakers (if seperate to computer) could have become unplugged, or they are on mute/very low, or your guitar volume knob/s could be at

    0.

  • i just realised you commented 3 weeks ago so you've propably fixed it by now but anyway hope it helps. :D

  • turn ur speakers on lol

  • Where Can I download it?... I'm trying to find it... Could you put some Acoustic Effects? for Acoustic Guitars?

  • hey everyone ive got a littl question:

i bought this program together with the ux1 and when i speak in the mic or play my guitar the sound is little behind and thats really irritating to keep tempo and stuff.

does anyone know what could cause that?

    thanks

  • That's called latency, which is the distance in time between the note being played in real time and the signal reaching your computer for processing. It's something that happens more in USB interfaces, I find, although I was told by a guitar shop today that the line6 devices are ok for that. If you're able, try reducing the buffer size in your program, that may help with the latency, although if you go too far then it may create problems with pops and cracks in the sound. Good luck!

  • thanks for helping but the buffer size din't rll do the job. The only way it seems to work for me is to plug in whatever audio device i am using right into the ux1 and setting ux1 as main speakers.

  • Its called latency, and there are many possible solutions and theories on internet, just google it, something like "Pod farm Latency problem", good luck!!

  • just placed a order for mine woot

  • Do you use the plugin, i can't record the sound just like a hear it in pod farm. Do you have i advice for the midie settings and stuff?

  • I'm going to get a Line 6 Pod Studio GX, and it comes with this prog. Seems pretty cool. Finally can record without screeching from echoing feedback.

  • i wish there was a pod farm demo on youtube from someone who can actually play the guitar.

  • Cool, why don't you contribute one then?

  • Completely agree,

Arrogant tossers like that bug me at times.. if you don't like the video make you're own frickin one!

Not a bad vid btw =)

  • Thanks.

I know I'm not the greatest and I never claimed to be...I just put this up to kind of demo the different sounds the POD Farm program can make. And I was still new to it so I didn't really even cover a lot of the more advanced features of the program.

  • Is a demo about POD FARM no about "how good or bad i play the guitar" ... let us see how do you play it >>

    Good demo video =)

  • or someone who dosent scoop all the fucking mids

  • This as actually put me off buying the software.

  • lol i was hoping u didnt choose that rank line 6 amp, worst amp make ever

  • And I don't mean the feature straight off of the amp.. On Gearbox, there is another way to change the EQ.

  • Does this have an EQ tweaking feature?

  • how would this program work with alternative kinda music

  • You can make a wide variety of tones. There are acoustic, light distortion, all the way up to heavy metal distortion.

I'm sure with enough tweaking you can get the right sound. :)

  • hi i don't get any singal from the pod .. what should i do ?

  • Are you talking about an actual POD Device?

Anyway, if you're having an issue with a Line6 device I'd definitely try Line6 support first.

  • well on my laptop ( vista ) it's working.. and on my pc ( xp ) it's doesn't .. how come ?

  • No idea. Could be a few things. Your hardware obviously works, so it might be a configuration issue with XP.

I use this with Vista so I wouldn't know what to look for.

    Ask Line6

  • i dont have a line 6 audio interface, is it possible to use this as a plugin on logic 8, without it being from a line 6 interface?

  • I currently have Gearbox. I was curious to how much better is Podfarm? It looks nice so far from what I can see.

  • POD Farm has a nicer interface and I like the tone that I can get it from it a lot better than Gearbox.

Check Line6 monkey--you might be able to download POD Farm. :\

  • DUDE HURRY UP LINE 6 IS GIVING FOR FREE PODFARM, IVE JUST DOWNLOADED ITS GREAT!!!

    PD: i use guitar port

  • I've liked too much the Citrus (Orange), excelent video, thannnks!

  • Oh yes, the Citrus model is awesome.

  • so i cant use it without a multi processor or guitar port

what is the cheapest thing i can get frm line 6 ??to make pod farm work??

    what is a guitar port

  • you buy the toneport for like what like 100 $? then u install software that comes with the toneport! follow the steps! easy as that put your guitar in the device and device to your pc / mac thats how simple so u only need: pc toneport (electric) guitar jack cable
  • can i just connect my guitar to my computer and run the software

  • POD Farm is designed to interface with one of a few different Line 6 input devices. The one I use is the guitar port.

  • 8:34 korpiklanni???

  • Yessir.

  • i really cant remember but for some months ago i watched some videos with pod farm and i do belive you could search for sounds that other ppl had made and put up on there. Is that true?

  • 1:51 is a classic

  • 3:15 was the best

  • i have a yamaha audio interface. if i get this and use it as a VST in Sonar Home Studio 7 will it work? or do i need a line 6 audio interface

  • Are there any really good shred tones?

  • this is just an awesome interface. i have to get one... i bought a behringer guitarlink 2 days ago.... its not compatible with windows vista and i didnt know it so i had to get payback... anyway this video shown me what i have to buy ! thanks for the demo this is one great thing to get !!

  • I love my Behringer V-Amp2 but when it came to guitar interfaces for the PC, I heard so many good things about Line6's products I had to get one.

The GuitarPort is a pretty cheap solution, and I have tested it in both Windows Vista and Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit.

    Gearbox and PODFarm work perfect.

  • then shall i get the line 6 pod studio gx with the podfarm thing ?

  • I don't know the exact differences between the pod studio vs guitarport, but the guitarport does everything I need.

I would look at the specs between each product and see what fits you best.

  • are u using podfarm platinum or normal in this video ?

  • Normal. I haven't gotten around to buying anything of the extra models for it, either.

  • this is a question for anyone who has the ux1 or for anyone who knows it lol but can i download the pod farm to get all the tones and shit and then run a guitar straight to a mixer then the mixer to the computer. wut difference does have the ux1 port do vs jus downloading the pod farm and running a guitar straight to a mixer

  • the ux1 or guitarport or any other one acts like a software dongle to let you run Pod Farm standalone, as long as you have it plugged into a usb port.

  • I use this shit... I think distortion sucks anyway... No low end, just a trebbly sound.

  • There are a bunch of different amp models and presets you can buy if the included ones don't fit your needs.

I've gotten a few but haven't looked into acoustic ones. I'm sure they exist though.

  • I think gearbox uses programmed effects that you can change and in podfarm you have to create your own sounds

  • wats the difference between gearbox and podfarm?

  • the layout

  • pod farm looks easier to use

  • im thinking of buyin the POD Studio UX2 would i need to connect my amp to it or would i just be able to plug my guitar into the UX2 and then my UX2 and im ready to roll?

Also the Pod Farm software comes with the UX2 right?

  • Never used the UX2 but it should work like my guitar port does. The sound will come out through whatever audio source hooked up to it, so you won't need another amp.

The Pod Farm software is downloadable through the Line 6 Monkey.

  • Can i hook up the UX1 through an amp? So i can play with desired tone through my amp?

  • You can use the UX2 for an Amp or PC, you can use the Phones Out or ther Analogs Outs too...

The Toneport its too versatile and it has a real good quality, watch any of my videos, they are recorded with an UX2

  • Overloud TH1 better

  • Cool stuff, finally some high gain stuff from Pod Farm (that I can't even try due to no Line6 hardware here). I prefer Revalver MkIII though ;-) Keep it heavy!

  • With which guitar did you do this test?

  • Ibanez RG470 with EMG 81 bridge pickup.

  • how do you record this just straight from acid?

  • I recorded this using Camtasia

  • does the sound come out of your computer speakers if you use the pod farm with one of the line 6 recording interfaces?

  • The guitarport creates a new audio device and it's made to have your existing speakers connect to your guitarport instead of your sound card.

I have a separate set of monitors I connect the guitarport to.

  • Cool stuff. Are there any drum tracks to record with? Or can you download some? Thanks!

  • No drum tracks...I've been making drum tracks in Sonar and mixing it all together in Acid...

  • sound freakkin awesome^^

    great man

    cheers

  • I tried copying what he was doing with my podfarm studio gx but I couldn't ever get it to sound quite as good. Is the sound effected by what amp you use as a moniter? Also could it be because I don't have active pickups?

  • I've found the biggest thing to affect sound with the Pod Farm software is the pickups. I have a Brian Moore with Seymour Duncans that has a completely different sound on the same models than my EMGs. That could be it.

  • Thanks for the info. I was thinking about getting some EMGs and this video really helps me in my decision. By the way you are a good guitar player.

  • Thanks. It's just a hobby, but after getting some decent recording tools I'm going to be doing some compositions. I'm a technogeek by trade though.

  • I just ordered this. The amps and stompboxes sound great.

  • great video.. covered a lot of ground. I see this is more visually appealing than gearbox, but is that all it offers, or are the tones better? I wanna upgrade to that platinum verson, but $250 is a little too much

  • There are a lot more amp and effect models available than what I show in the video. Plus there are cab and mic models I didn't even touch, and dual mode which allows you to mix two kinds of models in stereo. I haven't bought any extras but I like how Line6 has a wide variety and you can get just the models that fit your playstyle.

I use this to record some tracks and it does the job just fine. I don't see a need to upgrade, personally.

  • With the exception of the dual amps, its seems like all of that is in gearbox. I'm going to use it anyway because its the replacement for gearbox and line 6 will have updates for it. Thanks for the reply by the way!

  • Yea, all my gearbox presets even transfered over when I put pod farm on. The interface is a lot better on pod farm, I think.

  • so when you downloaded pod farm, and installed it, your packs were already there, or did you have to do something extra?

  • I already had gearbox + all my user presets/addons enabled. When I installed POD Farm, they were automatically transferred over as user presets.

  • i downloaded it also to replace gearbox software , and it's quiet awesome! , i'm running it through a line 6 toneport UX2 but sometimes it makes like a click sound , besides that it's been pretty fun to jam and stuff...

  • Yea I get some annoying clicking when I use the Guitarport on my netbook (Asus n10)... on my desktop with a quality sound card, however, I have no problems.
