  • Dem G's

  • Can someone explain how to flex the legs let's say at 9gs and still use the pedals.. I thought planes had pedals anyway maybe I wrong

  • Takin Gs, like a BOSS.

  • Can this strong G force cause brain injuries? I mean the brain is just soft tissue.

  • @gnossticc if it did they wouldn't do this or fly jets.

  • I started feeling dizzy watching this. It looks painful trying to imagine what it would feel like.

  • 7:38

"Any light loss this time?" "No... this tv though, weird discoloration." lmao.

  • anyone else squinted?

  • Are the tensing and breathing maneuvers what a pilot would have to do when in the air?

  • @cb91t No, it's for when they take a REALLY hard shit.

  • 5:39 fu***** programm:D

  • Very interesting video thanks for posting. I wanted to be a pilot when younger, my eyes would pass testing though. Some really brave folks in those jets.

  • he aged 30 years right before my eyes!

  • I wonder how astronaunts of the future are expected to sustain a fraction of light speed for years! Makes you realize how impractical people exploring the universe really is.

  • @MeredithWaters No. G force is only cause by accelerating things, not by sustaining speeds. For example, if you are able to accelerate your car from 1-100 kmph in 2 seconds you will feel about 1.6 g exerting towards you. And if you sustain your speed to 100 kmph after that there will be no g-force exerted by the vehicle. The same thing applies to astronaut and jet pilots. They will only need to endure g-forces when the vehicle accelerate.

  • @I3eam Wrong! The main gforces pilots experience are from sharp turns at high speeds...

  • @homeshop2 Yes, you are correct but the laws that I previously stated are not incorrect. I was just replying to Meredith, he thought that sustaining the same speed will cause g-force, which is incorrect.

I forgot to state that when you change direction at high velocities, G force also occurs. This is what happens to the pilots in this video. The centrifuge machine sustain the same speed but are constantly changing direction which causes G force to exert on the pilots.

  • My god do I like his job putting people in a big Centrifuge :D He is like your milkshake is on your left your quarter pounder on your right ! do you need more salt on your French fries ? the pilot says Can I get a Mac flurry please ? He's OK lets go 40G

  • how do pilots not pass out all the time when there in dog battles or do they get used to it??

  • @fitzy545 - You actaully try to flex your legs. It help the blood to stay flowing. Almost looks like your going to poop when it happens from the facial expression.

  • roller coasters must be shit after your a fighter pilot lol

  • Do you breath out? I looks and sounds like you're only grabbing for air without breathing out

  • That just looks exhausting!

  • That is sooo easy.

  • Gamebreaker08-the only thing you took was 74 G's of BS.

  • so what airplane do u pilot

  • Almost every video I see has a sheople comment about Chuck Norris or "in Russia... ", now every g-force video it's taking a shit comments, damn lemmings. Age of stupidity.

  • @QueSeraSera23 - so says the jackass that can't make a two sentence entry with no less than 4 grammar errors. Elitist fail.

  • @AlienZygote010 haha oh damn you really hurt my feelings, name the grammar errors I made 3 months ago lmao. Alien pff.

  • @AlienZygote010 ughh I just saw your profile, no wonder, you're a blind moron that still thinks 9/11 was done by "terrorists". HAHAHA Oh well, takes all kinds to make the world spin I guess.

  • kettle black - @QueSeraSera23 - again, you fucking schmuck calling a kettle black, you are one of those traitorous pieces of seditious shit batshit crazy enough to think 9/11 wasn't done by terrorists. continue laughing at me, shit wit. it only increases the joke being on you. if you hate this god damned country so much, try north korea. they have an open invitation to turn coat self loathing americans like you

  • Thanks L T .... fun to watch and nicely done. My guess is you may be of those rare guys that can pull 9's for 9 counts....I can handle 7's but 8's make me feel like it's nappy time...plus 8's make me yak after...lol. You look solid brother

  • This guy is a pussy. I went into one those centrifuges and took 74g for 30 minutes at once...These kids need to man up!!!

  • @Gamebreaker08 lol you would die

  • @Awarrior48 lol

  • it's a sad machine. when it's turned on, everyone's smile turns into a frown. :)

  • Jiz in mah pants...

  • saw this on military channel

  • When the instructor says ''breathe'', are you sucking air in really quickly?

  • Is that you in the centrifuge?

  • just wanted to let you know your one bad ass dude haha.

also id liek to ask when did you join the military?

you probably get this alot, but I am signing up this summer comming after my last year olf college. I have one friend in the Canadaian Air forces currently training at the RMC, and one friend in Afghanistan doing his first tour, both of them love the military and thats what makes me want to join more than anything.

how is the military going for you? are you still in it?

  • Dude, you did GREAT! Way to stay tough and use your discipline. Are you an active pilot now?

  • Is this training to be a fighter pilot?

  • do you fly the superhornet, or just the legacy hornet? Is it awesome?

  • does it feel like ur on mars without ur space suit please respond

  • Damn he did a good job. I thought he was loosing his mind at first, when he was turning his head.

  • that has got to be soooooo tiring!

  • so are there points in time where you just have to hold your breath? seems like you have to hold your breath while you are actually going through the g force then as your coming out of it you can take quik breaths till you can breathe normal

  • Well done Mr Pilot. I reckon I can do most things in life but I don't even want to try this. It looks horrible. Why don't his eyeballs pop out?

  • Thank you for posting, insightful!

  • Also did you get that girls number? she def was diggin u with her comment at the end. ha

  • Did you make it? Are you a pilot now? If so what do you fly and how is it going?

  • 7:16 AAAHAHAHAHHA

  • how we can be pilot?

  • Keep finding myself holding my breath

  • "how does it feel?" "it sucks" hahaha

  • i guess i would shit my guts at 8 G s ^^

  • this is before or after lunch?

  • YOU LIE!

  • 8:38 he's looking up at the numbers

  • is that you?

  • That dude is, "G" with it.......Haha. (God what a teribble pun)

  • rather be in a helicopter haha

  • whats up mr smothers

  • I wonder how can first astronauts sustain 15 G sor periods longer than 10 seconds

  • more like 12 15 and ur blood cant move so..... u die

  • i dont know why you got the thumbs down , but yeah even in the z- g there is a limit to what the body can take , also the organs are crushed at higher g's .

however the real g challenge is the y axis g's

  • the g force hits them along their front to back axis (z-axis), rather than the up and down axis (y-axis), so blood doesn't go away from their brain and they don't have to strain like a pilot does to stay concious.

  • Comment removed

  • they wear a g-suit, just a more hardcore version like the jet-pilots do.

  • @anisocoro because they are lying down and have special padding etc

  • @anisocoro they are laying down horizontally not vertically they would probably die if sat vertically

  • @shakeyjake1990 that would be hilarious except for the death part

  • @anisocoro because the axis of G encountered in the shuttle case is Gx, while ACM is on the vertical axis known as Gz - this moves the blood from the head towards the feet, vs from the chest to the back as in the case of the astronaut.

  • @anisocoro That's because the g's went towards their backs...still tough, but not as hard on the heart as if the g's are going directly toward their feet...

  • @anisocoro Because the Gs are not down your spine...pushing all the blood down to your feet. Astronauts are laying on their back...so they don't run into this same issue.

  • he can tolerate the high Gs because he was wearing the g-suit as shown in the cam. if not for the g-suit, he would have experienced g-loc many times.

  • Actually, the traditional G suit only provides about an additional G or so in tolerance. Every little bit helps, but it is manageable to tolerate 7G without a G suit. The Blue Angels, in fact, don't where g suits.

  • oh yeah, i also have watched the other videos of blue angels. thanks for correcting me. :)

  • But do the Blue Angels Perform 9-G maneuvers?

  • nah the top i think are between 7.5 and 8G but they have to train to the most they can so its not a tought for them when theyre in control of a $40,000,000 aircraft lol :P you know the attitude for them is train hard fight easy :)

  • nooooooo a 9-G turn is like pulling completely back on stick going mach 2 lol

  • @WhitepwrItalian1

I've had a ride in the back seat of an F-15, and you definately do not need to be going mach 2 to pull 9 G's. We pulled 8.5G's twice at around 450 knots.

  • @jlewenthal what are the requirements to become a fighter pilot?

  • @jlewenthal And that's why one of they're best pilots blacked out and crashed...

  • @jlewenthal thats not true. red bull air race pilots dont have a g sute and the highest measured g at redbull airrace is 12g so it is training.

  • @samsaras

The only thing that can not have any protection is the brain. I guess the brain suffers the most overtime beause it is soft tissue. I don't know, we owe much to these guys but they have to pay a high price for piloting these jet fighters.

  • @samsaras Yes, the g suit only accounts for a small amount of g's. (1-1.5). I fly aerobatics and we constantly pull 7-8g's with no g suit.

  • This helps a lot! Thanks for the vid.

  • ME too i dow that test

  • i love how he still has a since of humor while doing this. Outstanding Job!!

  • He looks like he's doing quite well . I would puke, pee and shit my pants all at the same time !!

  • @Borat911 that would hurt. bad.

  • My abs are now sore from instinctively doing AGSM when the guy told you to. hahaha

  • Of course I'm not feeling it, but I found myself doing it with you. Good job.

  • is that guy you ?

  • hhaha,mate,are you edward norton?

  • LOL! That's exactly what I thought!! That dude's got some serious G tollerance though!

  • LOL @ 5:15

  • why are you saying a shit @ 1:46?

  • it wasnt good level for him

  • I said "shit" when they told me my resting G tolerance because we were told that the following two profiles were going to be based on our resting G. The following two profiles were going to be 1 and 1.5 times our resting G respectively. Fortunately, they didnt do that after all.

  • @jlewenthal

what are you doing with legs btw?

  • He was telling him his top G count witch was 5 G's tops and so therefore It was a small amount of G's compared to other things.

  • @BlinkyBillthekoala

For god's sake quit being a baby.

  • he looks like that guy from fight club

  • thats exactly what I was thinking too

  • FUN!

  • is this positive or negative G?

  • positive

  • what is different between psoitive and negative?

  • positive is when ther is force pushing agains you lets say you gat in a car and accelerate realy fast, what you will feel is positive G, Now when you stomp on the brake going really fast thats Negative G.

Your body can take more positive than negative g

  • you're talking on the completely wrong axis... the g's experienced here are on the Y axis from head to toe or vice-versa if you're pulling negative g

  • negitive feels much cooler , mostly when u pull positive then go stick full forward and go straight into negitive. awesome feeling.

  • DANG, nerves of steel !!!!! and balls of metal lol

  • he looks young for a 2 Lt.

  • rotc

  • Seriously, I could think of nothing worse than doing this shit day in and day out. I can't imagine it'd be something I could ever get used to

  • Thanks. I don't believe I didn't get that! I thought it had something to do with testing his perception of movement

  • i was guessing that too ... and what are those numbers showing in upper right corner ?

  • in an aircraft there are 3 axis, its kinda like a coordinate plane. Each axis X, Y, Z have different load factors and G amounts depending on where he is turning and how hard. X-axis is pitch, Y is yaw and z is roll. It might be off on which axis is which, but for the people that will try to correct me it does not really matter.

  • i thought so ...

  • he did good!!!!!

  • What does he mean "let me know when you're straight and level?"

  • Having done this before, he actually means to let him know when he feels like he is literally "straight and level". Since the capsule he is in is spinning around, it takes a minute or so for your inner ear (which controls your feeling of up and down) to feel normal. They don't start the test until you feel like you're not spinning around. It doesn't have anything to do with mental preparation.

  • Not bad but I did not see much in the way of G force face melting going on..

  • Is it just me or by the end around his eyes are black ? is he gonna get black eyes from this ?

  • jiggly upper left forehead much?

  • so was it fun?

  • What do they mean when they say ''Your on top breathe''?

Sorry if i sound stupid for asking

  • why do they have to slowly look?

  • cuz it looks much cooler!

  • Because you could throw up if you move your head too much or too quickly.

  • so do actual fighter pilots have to move there head slowly when they are in combat?

  • In the middle of combat, the planes are almost never at level flight. There are always G forces present. No pilot moves his head during a maneuver. However, if there's a split second break, where the plane is at very low G (almost at level flight), they can move their heads quickly if necessary.

  • wow he has some great control of his movemants he handled that like a champ good gooing

  • Hes a little badass no doubht.

  • "i just spat like a retard all over mylself"

    very good training

    :D

  • This guy is pretty good, he'll have no problem with 9.

  • You're really my hero for not horking all over the inside of that centrifuge like I most likely would, sir! You do make it look easy. I'm like 5'7" and 140ish... I'd probably pass right out. -- Former Navy PO2

  • i thought his scalp was gonna burst

  • This guy is excellent! :D

  • Whats he talking about when he talks about the light and pushing it out?

  • i think it the loss of vision and because of the rapid drop in G force they can slip out of possion if they havn't braced them self? Maybe but unsure...

  • the "light" that is being referred to in the video is my vision. Whenever the blood is forced out of your head, as it is with increasing G loads, one of the first things to go before you lose consciousness is your vision.

  • what are you drivin?

  • the female at the end sounds hawt

  • cool

  • spit on my self like a retard..... nice one

  • you gotta tighten only your legs? not the upper body?

  • more blood in your legs than the rest of the body.

  • ya but if you tighten all your body, then more blood on your head than on the rest of your body, right?

  • Nice work John! Didn't break a sweat! :)

  • think this guy is a marine corp pilot u can tell by the jarhead i dunno???

  • Its the fact that he's a 2ndLT, that shows he's a Marine Corps SNA, not the high and tight.

  • wow, wa he going up to 10 g's?

    nice

    x

  • Good job ! It´s very hard , so . impressive 5/5

  • Thats Great! I can't believe Ed Norton is a 2nd Lt in the Armed Forces.

  • Noooooooooo cant be....

  • Davvero Massiccio!!!!!Complimenti!!

  • thats is HARDCORE ! ! !

  • OMG he doesent even strain thats wild congrats

  • Can someone explain to me this test. I kind of get it. I am still in high school and am very interested in flight. Please send me a msg :P

  • @Sevamartin; Jet fighter pilots (and even Astronauts) under go centrifuge training (You're in a ball strapped in going around in a circle) it is to get the body and mind used to the effects of gravity on the body at extreme speeds and turns. It is effectively training to keep from blacking out making a near right-angle turn at 300 m/s or more. Doing so without being used to it would cause the pilot to blackout and potentially crash before regaining consciousness.

  • -.- of course

  • WELL DUN very well dun

  • GOOD JOB MEN!

  • Great job buddy...wish I could do at least a 6 G profile, just to see if I could do it. Man I wish I stayed in school. I'm 30 now and the Air Force told me to beat it when I tried to join at 28. Tattoo's...education, etc. But I tried!

  • This guy reminds me of "Chandler" from Friends...

  • i was thinking more like edward norton (HULK)

  • lol @ "I spit on myself like a retard"

  • That's insane.
