  • Nice concise instructions!!!!

  • Great video! Much more easy to understand than written instructions! This is the best pillowcase tutorial online IMHO. Thanks!

  • @robingallagher, these are so cute! I just made four for Christmas presents with my grandmother. For us it took fourty-five minutes to an hour. P.S. This was my first big sewing project! Thank you and God bless. :)

  • So cute:)

  • Spent money to take the pillowcase class at quilting store. I love your tutorial, it is clearer than the course. It is so easy to do & quick. Thanks so much. Yokum9737

  • No entendí nada de lo que dijiste, pero lo que vi me resulta muy útil.

  • como me gustaria que lo explicaras en spanish se ve muy facil

  • enjoyed it a lot. very useful! gbu!

  • I'd love, love to know the fabric dimensions to use to make a case for a smaller 12x16 pillow form. I can do the math, but I'm SURE someone else has already done it for me!!

  • Love it. I cant wait to try it out

  • THANK YOU!!! I found written instructions first and was so confused! This cleared it up perfectly!

  • OMG this is fantastic!!! I'm a beginner at sewing and was looking for an easy way to sew a pillowcase .... you've made such a fancy-looking pillowcase seem so simple to make! I'm going upstairs to sew two pillowcases pronto! You're a legend, Robin ...keep up with the awesome work!

  • Im making homemade nfl pillows, I want them to be 15x15, so do I start out a little bit bigger with the starting measurements or should I make it 17x17 to start? thank you all

  • you're welcome and i did!

  • Could you serge the edge as well?

  • I cannot not sew at all, well just buttons on. But I love cute pillowcases. Does anyone on here make pillowcases for income? If so please send me a message. Thank you!

  • Great for making pet bed or dog / cat mat covers.

  • Selvedge.

  • to Ladysiz101 - Flannel will make it thicker and more difficult to sew through. The other option is to use a serger and serge the sides instead of the french seams or I guess you could just sew a seam and zigzag the edge. Either way would work but would not be as nice a finish as the french seam.

  • Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. I made one out of flannel yesterday and it all went together well except when I started sewing the side and bottom seams together it was very bulky where all the border, the accent piece and main pillow section met and were sewn togther. I used my walking foot but it still slipped a bit. It is because I used flannel? Is there another way to do it so it will not be so bulky? Thank you agian.

  • one question; what is the measurement of the other side of the main fabric? the long side i guess?

  • Robin you are brilliant!!!!!! Simplicity. I am certain I can do this. My first sewing project. Thank you.

  • This is a good tutorial. I'm going to embed it at Fabric Deals Club.

  • Thank you so much for sharinging this! I'm working on smaller pillowcases (pilllow size is 12x16) for Christmas gifts and i'm using your lesson! THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • I love the Halloween pillow case =)

  • I am new to sewing and have no patience! I wanted to find a project for Christmas fabric that I could do with my limited ability. I found your video on the pillowcases with French Seams ~ WOW ~ I could do this! I made 2 sets last night and am on my way to Joanns to get more fabric ~ You give fabulous directions and make it all so easy! Thank you one million times!!!

  • Width of fabric (WOF) is typically 42 - 44 inches.

  • @robingallagher 42-44 inches for the pillowcase?

  • What I don't understand is Width of Fabric.

Could you explain that to me a little more?

  • WOW, I have been trying so hard to understand some written directions for making a pillowcase & it just wasn't happening! Thanks for making this great project SO EASY!!!!!!! I just finished one and can't wait to make more - Christmas Presents! :)

  • I am only a beginner but your instructions were so clear I am willing to give it a try. Walmart here I come. I'll purchase some Dora fabrics for my little Nati.

  • This is so great! I am a beginner at sewing and simply wanted to make a pillowcase out of some neat fabric I found. This made it so easy! Great job on clear instructions. Thanks:)

  • Thanks for the video Robin, I used it yesterday to make a travel pillow for a friend.

  • Finally I understand how to do it! Thank you!

  • This video is awesome. I have looked at so many tutorials on making pillowcases, and basically gave up. I came across your video and it is very useful. Your step by step instructions are easy to understand. This video lead me to your website and blog. I have added your blog to my RSS Feed. Great Job. Thanks.

  • can u make a top sheet the same way on the top for a border side?

  • I love this video and it just made things so much easier to understand

    Thank you Robin.

  • I would like to make a satin pillowcase - are the measurements the same? Do you have any particular advice for working with satin fabric?

  • @BelleCheveux I'm sorry I've never made a pillowcase using satin. I would guess it would be somewhat difficult to work with satin because if is slippery.

  • @BelleCheveux watch the pillow case tutorial from himehood heres the link

  • @BelleCheveux I made one last night. It is a little more difficult, and I was making a doll pillow! I would suggest really pinning it in place, because it tends to move around, and to just go a little slower when sewing, otherwise it may catch the side and bunch up. I'm no expert though, so I'm just going off what little experience I have in sewing. Also, it will fray a lot so you may want to cut all those loose threads asap so they don't annoy you.

  • Robyn, Thank u so much for making this look so easy. I can't wait to give it a try. My grandgirls would love this.

    Thanks again.

  • Thank you so much! I read so many instructions online but couldn't "see" what they meant, now I understand. You rock!

  • @redcharlotte glad you like it.

  • Thank you very much! This is exactly what I was looking for. I just made two in just over an hour!!!

  • @nola541 I'm glad it worked for you. Two in an hours, not bad.

  • Could you please tell me what the width of the pillowcase is...I heard the length is 27 inches but I'm unsure of the width. Thanks...I wanting to make a pillowcase dress for my 4 year old daughter...do you a standard size pillowcase would be good demintions for a dress? Thanks

  • @brandilouwho1 The pillowcases are made using the width of fabric. Typically that would be 40"- 44" depending on the fabric you select.

  • Clear and simple, thank you!
