martial arts is a language, but like any language you must take the alphebet (techniques) and create words (a collection of techniques). once you have these fundamentals you can create your own sentences, paragraphs, and quotes (forms), but you must learn the basics first. you must know the abc's of what ever it is that you love. once this is astablished you may take the element of your art and express your inner nature. this goes for all things in life. we are the water that is formless.

Having been a student of T'ai chi ch'uan, Wing Chun, and Bruce Lee's own Jeet Kune Do for over 30 years, I must say that I find the poster's interpretation of Bruce Lee's words in this interview offensive.

Bruce Lee was not talking about your narrow view of Christianity and Religion... in fact, Bruce Lee struggled with spirituality his entire life, and never found all of the answers he sought.

There is nothing worse than "Christians" trying to force their dogma into other's lives. Disgusting.

Bruce lee wasnt just talking about different fighting styles he also was talking about the racism going on in that era... when he starts talking about expressing ur self and how powerful words are was probably what he had to deal with in Chine and here.remember this wasnt 2011 and there still racism today. listen to the last part right before he was cut off.

The end of the interview was disrespectful. It is because of the inferior complex of the old guy. It was very transparent that the old guy does not had the level of understanding that Bruce had. The guy is similar to an Amoeba (a lower form of life!!) if compared to Bruce.It is our privilege that we hear his deep and very useful realizations that he got through his lifetime experiences and understandings while answering a fool's so many idiotic questions.

bruce lee is one of a kind. i will disagree with him that expressing oneself is hard to do. i think it is very had in certain cultures, ones where we're taught to perform and acting is worshiped. there are many cultures that naturally support honest expression. i'd argue that there's overall more collective energy teaching our children to be false and put on a show than there is in an individual trying to unlearn what society has taught her or him

Thanks for sharing your insight, mechapigman. It's even more interesting considering that his philosophy, in some respects, is how many modern worship leaders try to approach worship. They don't want to get bogged down by man-made systems. The word "religion" is almost a dirty word among many.

His answer is correct, he does not follow any religion but that question had nothing to do with where his faith lies.
