  • well thought out video...didnt see that coming. really cool!!! Thanks for this video

  • Very similar to one that came out a few years ago which can be found on YouTube too: "Lost Generation"

  • This message is so much more refreshing, inspiring and life-changing than the idiot barkers on the street showing off their self-righteousness.

  • This is such an awesome video! It inspired me to make a similar video for a girl at my school. You can find it on YouTube: "Makenzie Greeley is Weird - Because Normal Isn't Working"

  • this is incredible.

  • Quite possibly the most genius thing I've ever read

  • bravo

  • @EricMonette Yea u can change. and be good but being a Christian is all about a relationship with God. All Christians have their life change, why? Because only those with a relationship with God counts as a Christian. Its not a religion is a relationship. You can change by yourself but that doesn't prove God isn't real.

  • epic... just epic... ive memorized the whole thing by memory and heart.

  • love it pastor craig!!!! ^_^ the Lord really is the Lord of all even arts and science! ^_^ continue to do God's will... i'm a pastor, and i believe that our God will help us change the world for that is what Jesus' last commission to us... God bless!

  • Please, this is a video that needs to be shared with many many people. Keep it going, because this poem alone is a powerful tool god can use to help people come to know Christ and be WEIRD!!!! XD

  • my youth pastor showed this to us at youth group and we had alot of people give their lives to christ! this is the same thing but from two different points of veiw. i love this video and I AM WEIRD for GOD!!!!

  • @jubjubsgirl lol

  • "He struck down some of the men of Beth-shemesh because they had looked into the ark of the LORD. He struck down of all the people, 50,070 men, and the people mourned because the LORD had struck the people with a great slaughter." -- 1 Samuel 6:19 (New American Standard Bible)

    Praise the Lord!

  • "Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks." -- Psalm 137:9 (New International Version - 2011)

    Praise the Lord!

  • This is amazing

  • This is like the video from 2008 about the environment

  • @LEfriend Yeah Craig said he got the idea from a video on YouTube.

  • Fantastic video.....it is right on. If you want more of this check out a video called easter best. CHeck out Isaiah 53...this describes Jesus Christ and what He did for us and is evidenced in the New Testament and in history. Jesus Is Lord!

  • Where does your hope lie? Just curious, man.

  • It is evident the video is effective because many of the posts are from people arguing a benign point unrelated to the message presented in the video. Either you get it or you don't. Well done.

  • Christianity is not about behaviourism it is about transformation. it is not about whether you are better than someone it is about Christ transforming your life. All our good deeds are not good enough to be right enough. You maybe a better Dad, employee or person in your actions but do you know Christ. All of us are hypocrites in someway don’t judge yourself by yourself or Christianity by imperfect people.

  • Easter does not honor Christ,Easter which always falls after the vernal equinox.

The name "Easter" originated with the names of an ancient Pagan Goddess and Pagan God. The Venerable Bede, (672-735 CE.) a Christian scholar, first asserted in his book De Ratione Temporum that Easter was named after Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). She was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Eastre's symbols were the hare and the egg.

  • If Christians and Catholic ,would keep Passover the Holy Days,

The Messiah kept the Passover with His disciples the night before His death

(Luke 22:15). He died on the cross the next afternoon, which was still Passover (the 14th of Abib or Nisan ,according to the Hebrew Calendar (Leviticus 23:5). Leviticus 23:6-7 shows that the next day, beginning the evening after His crucifixion, was not a weekly Sabbath, but an annual Sabbath (The first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread).

  • This was so powerful at the Easter service! It's such a creative poem and I wear the weird bracelet everywhere I go to hopefully get pple interested to go to church. Go life church south okc! XD

  • -All The people that "disliked" this video, didnt watch it all the way through

  • I like this video

  • enter MYPRIZE in place of YOU in youtube and then push enter

  • @Eric, I am not whole-heartedly believing you are an atheist. You sound more agnostic. I'm not sure what your reasons for your community and military service are but it sounds to me as if God is speaking to you. Everything you mention, everything, is just what being weird is about. It is apparent you have a good history of biblical experiences, whether they are bad or good.

  • Eric, you would love Craig's teaching then. It's not about being a "good person", so whether you believe you are a better person than many Christians isn't the point. Nothing we can do or not do will save us. Only Jesus can. The majority of Christians are not following Jesus' teachings. But, if Jesus is Truth, then it doesn't matter what any Christians you grew up with did. If Jesus is the Truth, then we need to make sure we are one of the "few" that choose the "narrow" path.

  • I AM to CONFUSED :( i DON'T REALLY HONESTLY KNOW WHAT IS IMPORTANT NOT IN THIS LIFE OR THE NEXT ... i give up on ALL.

  • @JesusGodHolySpirit3: What's confusing you? Perhaps I can answer some of your questions? What is important is realizing that this life is a dressing room for eternity and to get to heaven we have to be clothed with Jesus Christ. He is the gate that we have to go through to get to heaven. He said he is the way, the truth, and the life. No one can get to the Father (God) except through Him.

  • @BattleCry4Him It isn't the video that is confusing it is just following Christ is the confusing part. I do know I haven't been baptized in the Holy Spirit so maybe this is why I am confused and lost with all of this. I also can't sleep so I don't want to think to much any more about this stuff because my head will start hurting and I don't see joy in following Christ or the devil. I wish in a way that the people who don't want to live were never made bc I don't want to fear death.

  • And to be saved by asking for salvation is a wonderful thing to happen to a person by belief and faith. I don't like labels...I think for someone who calls them self a christian but don't act like a christian make them good people because they are christians. It is so much more than that. I'm not pointing fingers or here to make anyone feel bad. Just stating what I believe. :-)

  • I'd say that just because a person does 'good' things doesn't make them a 'good' person. But a person with a 'good' heart. We are all sinners regardless whether we do good things or not. I can admit that I'm a sinner myself, I feel like it is a lie to say, "I'm a good person, I give to charity, I help those in need, etc." I just say, "I'm not perfect but I do what I can to help, I know that I have a good heart as long as I do the best I can with the help of Jesus Christ'

  • this guy is so fucking weird

  • It's not: "Can't we be moral without God?"

It is: "Our morality in itself, no matter how comparatively 'good,' is not 'good' enough to bridge the sin gap between humanity and God."

Thank God that He bridged that gap with the cross. Let us no longer compare ourselves to each other, thinking we'll merit heaven by works and piety, just as the Pharisees did in their pride.

  • Jesus left the tomb

    it is now empty

and we have to choose what we do about that.

The horrible stuff that happens in this world, "Christian" fakers like EricMonette above speaks of, are not excuses that will justify our independence from the ONLY ONE who died and rose from the dead for us.

The greatest commandment in Satanism is "do what thou wilt."

    STOP BEING SATANIC.

  • It's a shame that people can't understand what a fraud religions are, they've done more harm than good.

  • @Tibianordenisweden : You've assumed absolutes on something that I'm sure you've done research on your assertions, correct? If not, you probably would have found out that religious institutions do more charity work than any other kind of secular or government organizations especially here in the US.

  • @BattleCry4Him i get the impression tibian is not referring to money when he says religion has done more harm than good. plus, there's no way to determine the world statistics on who gives to charities more when many donations are anonymous. by the way, what does giving to charity have to do with being a condescending ass in a video?

  • @baysacrazy: Tib said this:It's a shame that people can't understand what a fraud religions are, they've done more harm than good.<<. So, I was just simply showing some examples of good that has been done and is still being done in the name of God. Hospitals, orphanages, homeless shelters, food pantries, adoption agencies, etc. The list goes on and on. I was simply stating he was making an absolute statement about something that may or may not be true.

  • wooooow, this is great! thank you, pastor Craig! :)

  • @EricMonette Certainly there are hypocrites everywhere, but at in regard to being better than most Christians, I would actually have you check the majority of statistics revolving around Christians in the home. Bible believing Christians who serve in their local congregation have a much lower divorce rate than any other people group in the United States and have some of the most successful children given by modern standards. Certainly your perspective may be different, but statistics say a lot.

  • this video is awful. just because you aren't christian you are a money grubbing, selfish, popularity seeking, family hating person? what an awful message to send.

  • @baysacrazy, you make a good point. A person can be "good" even if they're not a christian. Thankfully our goodness isn't God's standard for us. Another argument. I think he's contrasting the difference between the culture at large and it's values to an authentic practiced Christian faith.

  • @baysacrazy:Who's saying he's just talking about others besides Christians? He's also talking about Christians who act that way as well. It's not about title, but heart condition. A true Christ follower will live like Christ lived and believe he was sent by God to save the world from sin. No other belief system or non-belief system would perscribe to this doctrine. Thus, he has a right to compare and contrast. You assumed absolutes when none were given.

  • @BattleCry4Him ya, he has the right to compare. sure. and i've assumed nothing. he states very clearly that without christ you are being a selfish, money grubbing, family hater. i'm just working with his disgusted demeanor while talking about those not following christ and his ever so gleeful demeanor while saying he's and all christians are better than everyone else by following christ. broad strokes? if that's not what he means then why make a video saying it?

  • @baysacrazy: It's called context. You are asserting he is comparing Christians to the world, but he's actually comparing the world to Jesus Christ. The rule of thumb for this world is "do unto others as they do unto you. If someone punches you, a normal person typically would punch back?Jesus taught to love those who are your enemies. He taught that we should do good to those why spitefully use you.Normal people typically don't do that. What's wrong with encouraging the Christian to be like Christ?

  • @BattleCry4Him nothing is wrong to encourage christians to be christians but it certainly does not come across the way you are describing it.

  • @baysacrazy: It's easy to take anything out of context at first glance, but this is just one little "blip" of a 45 minute message in a 5 week series he taught called "weird". In this specific teaching which was last Sunday he pointed out that a lot of Christians don't live like Christ. No difference to be seen. If as a whole Christians lived lived like Christ, they would be looked at by unbelievers and "Christians" in name only as weird. Being a Christian is more than just a title.

  • @baysacrazy: Furthermore, he wrote a book called a Chrisian Atheist to show that everything he talks about, he's talking about Jesus Christ as the example and Christians aren't truly Christians if they aren't living their lives like Him. Christian means "Christ-follower" or "little Christs", I don't think that's too much to ask. I would applaud anyone who is not being hypocritical in their actions versus what or who they say they believe and actually live what they believe. Christian or Atheist.

  • I wanted to share this with my husband. So glad you put it up. Such a cool rhetorical twist on top of being a fantastic message!

  • wow...Pastor Craig..this is amazing...See you in Hillsong conference

  • Love love love this.

  • this really hit home with me pastor Craig hit the nail in the head.Hey America it's Time to Get Weird!!!!

  • That's what's up!! ;^)

  • woot woot to weird people

  • Religion could inspire greatness and innocence, but now it is used to restrain human potential and excellence under the guise of salvation. However, this video is a good marketing tool to sell your brand of jesus.

  • @CastleVainea55 There are still Christians out there who love one another, not preaching "rulles". there are churches still out there who do not want your money. (My own doesn't pass an offering plate and still gets enough donations to run itself - yearly they publish how much every dime is spent). There are churches where the people there will give you the shirt off your back because they want to do what's right and please God - not to earn kudos. That is what Christianity is. Not a brand.

  • I love this video, thank you for putting it up on youtube. The service at lifechurch.tv was fantastic.

  • i was here for this :P

  • In This Video: Member of the Christian majority claims that not being a Christian is "normal" along with other associated nonsense.

  • That was so very awesome-Praise God

  • Man I've seen one of these years ago but had NO IDEA that Pastor Craig was gonna pull a 180...great poem!

  • sweet awesome!

  • This poem is so weird Craig, but I like your kind of weird!

    God bless you!

    And Happy Easter!

  • Good Video, very well put together. But as an Atheist, i gotta tell you that being a Christian doesn't make you more family oriented, nor does it make you Selfless. I grew up a Christian, and saw Familys from my church torn apart because of greed. Im an Atheist, i go to homeless shelters and serve food, I go to Churches and help hand out food, I do double Blood Donations. I'm in the Military, I cook food for others on holidays if they can't go home to be with their family. Im a better person the

  • @EricMonette n half the "Christians" I know. My family means the world to me but im an Atheist. Jesus was a great teacher with great teachings. Its Too bad few people follow them in this day. It was the Hypocrisy of the Church that forced me to tear down the walls and set myself Free.

  • @EricMonette God bless you for your humanity and willingness to serve others Eric. You probably would like some of Craig Groeschel's books or sermons - he's anti-RELIGION and anti-CHURCH too.

  • @EricMonette How do Atheist deal with temptation and fleshly desires? Just curious.

  • @86Jrod do you believe that you can only be moral if you are a Christian?

  • @klhighbury No. But I believe it's pretty hard, cause I've tried it. We believe the conviction is from the Holy Spirit. Without it, temptation and fleshly desires are harder to control and frankly insignficant. I can tell you without the Holy Spirit, I looked at porn, I lusted after girls, I liked wordly things and had worldy desires. When I received the Holy Spirit, my desires transformed completely to honoring God and not engaging in the immoral acts I once did before. It's a burden lifted.

  • @86Jrod OK, go back 2000 years and what did everyone do before that?

What about the other 98,000 years (at least) of human development? Do you really believe that everyone who has ever been on this planet has not been able to function morally as they didn't have Jesus in their lives? Either your argument is flawed or God is a joker.

  • @klhighbury You should read the Bible. In the Old Testament it talked about the coming of the Lord which Christians believe happened with Jesus Christ. Even though Christ only came to us 2011 years ago that doesn't mean that we were living wrong before him. There were prophets that readied us for the Lord's coming. God loves us so very much. You can try to live a good life without God but to what end? "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6

  • @gesedini what makes you think I haven't?

The Old Testament was written in the Middle East...so what did the rest of the world do? Don't you think that it seems rather unfair that an omnipotent and omniscient God would only reveal His truth to a comparatively tiny number of people, based on the luck of where and when they happened to be born?

Again, I think that either your argument is flawed or God is a joker.

  • @gesedini

Will you offer an Old Testament verse in which it names Jesus explicitly?

  • @EricMonette - Jesus never allowed people to call him a great teacher. He made outrageous claims and called his followers to outrageous behavior. He told people they must eat his flesh and drink his blood. Those nuts actually thought Jesus was God, and ten of his twelve main followers died horrible deaths for it. If the gospels accurately record what he said, we are only left with three choices, he is a liar, or he is a lunatic, or he is lord.

  • @EricMonette I believe the "hypocrisy of the church that forced you to tear down the walls and set yourself free" have also force you to build up walls and trap yourself in this atheist or agnostic belief. I feel if you would give just one sermon a shot, you would rethink your current beliefs. OR, begin your church community services at LifeChurch... commitment free.... I believe you will see a different side of church. I too had become cold against the traditional church.

  • Fortunately, I never gave up on God. LifeChurch has been my home for 5 yrs. I wouldn't trade churches for all the money in the world. BTW, even Craig admits to being just like your everyday Joe. He admits he's not perfect but the bible says we're not perfect. It's through Craig's teachings that you learn (through God's word) how to make your flaws a little better, not perfect.

  • I will keep you in my prayers both as a Christian and as a soldier (thank you BTW!!!!). God does love you and see's the good works you do. Now, give him a second chance and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

  • @EricMonette Man I was you literally 6 weeks ago. When I walked in this man's church my life changed. I felt God as soon as I walked in the building and by the end of the service I was smiling from ear to ear. I have never felt love like it before and I have felt it ever since. Lifechurch is tearing down the same walls you did concerning traditional churches and that is why they were able to reach me, and thousands of others like us. Come with me tomorrow. I will pick u up if u are close to OKC!

  • @EricMonette its the hypocrisy of the church that makes me cling to Jesus Christ... and billions of people follow HIm, and so should you! :] and how can you call Jesus a great teacher but nothing more? He claimed He was the Son of God. He's either a lunatic or your Savior. You choose.

  • @EricMonette Well, Christians are humans just like you. It doesn't mean that when you are a Christian you will be perfect and all the things you are doing would be good. There are Christians who are just church Christians I admit but that doesn't mean that our God is not real and not able to do things. Being a Christian is admitting that we are weak and in need of a savior and we were fools who needs the wisdom of a God to help us everyday. Praise God for all the things you are doing!

  • @EricMonette and maybe you haven't really met Him yet or something because if you actually met Jesus, you will be blown away!

  • @EricMonette Jesus' last direction to his original disciples and I believe to all those who choose to be disciples of Christ was "love one another, just as I have loved You". Jesus loved them enough to die on their behalf. There is no greater love than he who lays down his life for his friend. If you follow Jesus, love like this.

  • @EricMonette look, jesus claimed to be son of god, he claimed that he could forgive sin, heal the sick, and that he would die but rise again on the third day and that he would reign for all eternity in heaven. he also sayd that he would prepare a place for all those ho would believe in him and follow him.

so, friend, you cannot say that he was a great teacher, and than be an atheist. thats pretty contradictory, don't u think?

  • Comment removed

  • @EricMonette Eric, you are correct, being a Christian doesn't make you any of those things. But, if being a Christian is the goal then that person has already failed. However, if the goal of the person is to be Christ-like, then it does lead you to be more selfless in all areas of life, Home, money, physically and spiritually. Your work for the less fortunate sounds more like Christ than a lot of the "Christians" I know. Perhaps you aren't a Christian but you look a lot like a Christ follower.

  • @EricMonette, I am not whole-heartedly believing you are an atheist. You sound more agnostic. I'm not sure what your reasons for your community and military service are but it sounds to me as if God is speaking to you. Everything you mention, everything, is just what being weird is about. It is apparent you have a good history of biblical experiences, whether they are bad or good. I want to invite you to attend one of Craig's sermon's at a LifeChurch or online at lifechurch.tv.

  • @mllrn He has...I invited him the day he commented on this video. He didn't respond so I found him on facebook. He went to Lifechurch with me almost every Sunday until he deployed to Afghanistan. He wrote me a couple of weeks ago and has been reading the Bible I gave to him before he left.

  • @EricMonette I don't understand your point. If loving God had something to do with being 'good' then you would have a point but Christianity isn't a multi-level system where you boot out others by being 'good'. You say you are better than some other people, and I grant you that, but I wonder why you think that matters? I don't understand why the misdeeds of another would invalidate the truth. "I am a better person than him" is a poor argument when facing court-martial, it will get you convicted.

  • @EricMonette at least get online and watch last week's service. It is about what you are talking about. The series is called Weird and he is talking about how religion is turning people off. Really, really good last week.

  • @EricMonette Sad, Eric. It seems like you are trying hard to stay on God's (I am not saying Christians') values, and it is because you took it seriously way before - good on you. Sad, that you looked at people, just simple people like yourself and me but not on God. Those people (most or not many of them, doesn't matter) choose God because they fed up with their own self-righteousness and choose to admit their failure and ask for direction and strength to go this way.

  • @EricMonette Continue: Not all of those who goes to church belong to Church and it is not our right to judge but it is often visible when someone is coming to the church like to the club. Our sins - forgiven or not, do not change the nature and righteousness of Holy One, it doesn't change His patience and compassion to you and to me. Just look above the crowd, look over my head and be more merciful to those who still can't make it, just help them. Wish you to find Him.

  • @EricMonette Maybe... but at least you're still weirder than others

  • @EricMonette I understand your view on this vidoe as an atheist because, I too was once an athiest. This video isn't saying that Christians are better than the rest of the world. It is simply stating that in order to change the world we must first change the way we look at it. My family was torn apart by adultry, but I refuse to let that define who I am in Jesus. Just know we at LifeChurch.tv love people and we are doing the best we can to win people to Christ.

  • @TheHwheatley You know what is funny...I invited Eric to go to church with me. He went to Lifechurch with me almost every week after this video was put up until he went to Afghanistan and a couple of weeks ago, Eric wrote me and told me he began reading the Bible I gave him @ his going away dinner.

  • @EricMonette Way to go. Christians need to hear the fact that Atheists are normal good people. Religion does not have a monopoly on morality.

  • @EricMonette I'm a christian.God DOES exist...Haven't you ever wondered how all this stuff came together.. Big Bang Theory? did this stuff by CHANCE happen? everything is JUST right..If we had just a little bit more oxygen sparks would fly..? or something like that. How much in this world is JUST right.Did all the galaxies just appear? Think...listen...just actually think...COULD God exist: if He does.well im praying 4 u.Ask God to show you some sign.I will. Go 2 thoughts of one in a billion
