I'm not sure I understood your post, Sellos23, but the recording is of Turkish musicians playing for a private audience in Greece. The song is also sung in many other languages, by people of many other cultures.

This song is also played by klezmer bands (east european jews) in canada but under the name "De Terk in Amerika" (haha).. It's the same song, maybe the order of the parts is mixed up a bit. I would like to learn the words in turkish one day, then I can surprise my klezmer band by bellowing them out when we play it! haha, but it would probably be really hard to learn..

there are so many versions about this song. In Bosnia or Kosova/albania this song is about fight on path of God.

In serbia is about memory in the past, unanswered love, in Montenegro is about love.

The first set of lyrics, posted by Whitedagger, are correct. I don't know where the second set of lyrics came from, but they are nice; here's what they mean: The boat(s) you got on came to Üsküdar.
