My 2011 SS LS3 with the Spectre CAI, OBX long tube headers w/no CATs and Pype Bomb axle exhaust before Dyno tune- 403 RWHP. After tune- 416 RWHP 414 Torque. I'd say the Spectre CAI is just fine. Hell, it was even 99 degrees when I Dynoed. It's going to be a little better in cooler weather.
so im looking in my summit mag and its got the spectre cold air intake for my ss priced at $196.95. model SPE-9908. is this the same intake being tested and if so why so expensive? and as a customer why should i buy spectre? im trying to compare to a K&N, your prices seem better but you also posted here saying 300, hit me back please, thanks
why use an aluminum tube instead of plastic? aluminum will conduct more heat than plastic. sure it looks cooler to have a shiny intake tube but the point of a CAI is more performance than look.
@ARom5000 It's not really DIY, just take a good look at your engine bay and pick the stuff up, because then you have a warranty should something fail, whereas with eBay, you don't.
@ARom5000 What you might do is head to your local auto parts shop, like pep boys, or autozone, and look at their semi-generic parts. I was able to assemble a cold-air intake for my friend's '03 Saturn Ion using a Spectre cavalier intake tube, a 90° plastic chrome pipe from Spectre, a Spectre air filter, and a couple of boots to mate the pipes. It looks great, and cost $80. Add a sheet of aluminum and some weather stripping (and tin snips if you don't have some already) and it'll be a true CAI.
i don't understand why people like cheap shit, i mean i understand the economy is still fucked up but come on K&N is the best company for intakes. if you can't afford a $300 for your vehicle then find a damn job. it's expensive because it's worth having it i know it coz i got one.
Why does the dyno graph show both the whp and the wtq being under 300 stock, when the car has either between 400 and 426 stock crank horse depending on whether it is a manual or not, but it just doesn't make since for the whp being over 100 less than the rear, since it is usually around 15-20% of a decrease of the crank hp...
We are finalizing pricing now, but MSRP will be about $300, including aluminum heat shields, mandrel bent polished aluminum tubing, lifetime warranty hpR Filter and all necessary hardware.
@analmunkey oil the filter regularly? lmao, i knew you were a little pussy who knows nothing about cars! you sound like a fucking retard. go spread your ignorance elsewhere, coward.
@scarface115 why are you calling me a coward behind a keyboard? im not trying to sound like a BA or anything, but if you said that (in person) i would probably beat you beyond recognition so when you went home your own mom would ask "who are you?"
@analmunkey lmao, talk about talking tough behind a keyboard. i would love to see an ignorant 16 year old pussy with no balls and a tiny penis to even try to talk tough to me without shitting your pants. i would knock your little punk ass out, chop you up, and throw you in a fucking hole. come look me up scumbag, i'll get a jump start on this. what are you gonna do now, cry to mommy, fagot?
We do have a system for the V6, and it made fantastic power! We just finalized the prototype and will be shooting dyno and install video soon. Stay tuned.
Remember, kids, your cold air intake always works best if your hat is cocked to the side.

Who in the name of god did the maths at the end!! 7.5% hp gain in a Camaro SS would give 32 extra hp. it should be a 5% gain!

@ARom5000
The difference is pretty huge in that case. These things are 200-300 dollars. Those are top quality Life time warranty.
The ebay one will be a Piece of crap non life time warranty.
Dont cheap a car out, that will look horrible and the car will act horrible.
