  • my friend has the same buildings he has 3 of them

  • my old man hasa 2-180 an a 2-135 which both have 12,000 plus hours.... and he has (2) 2-105's which have bouts 20,000 hrs so id say they're pretty good tractors

  • they put 3208's in the 4-150's as well.

  • Can I remember when they I first a new one at a dealership when I was in my teens in 1983. I was like what hell?! A V8 cat in a farm tractor that size?!!! I later saw one making HUGE square bales in Colorado in 1988. It didn't seem to be working to hard! LOL If that V8 diesel was human it would have laughted at that baler! LOL

  • If correct the highest recorded drawbar horse power of it's vintage, over 158 hp?

  • When tested in Nebraska the 2-180 put out the most drawbar hp of any 2 wheel drive up to that point.

  • thats amazing.....20,000 hours

  • i wonder why white decided to quit..... LONG LIVE WHITE... btw nice 2-180

  • White didnt quit. They ran the company into the ground taking 3 of the best tractor companys ever (i.e. Oliver, Minniapolis Moline, and Cockshutt) with them. They couldnt decied if they wanted to be a truck company or a farm equipment company and they made the wrong choice. It was just a case of bad management.

  • 2+2's really didn't have that much power, and a lot of people highly overestimated them and what they could do just because if was 4WD and could be dualed up. A lot of them got blown up for that reason, trying to pull more than what they actually could

  • Best tractors ever built. The first White I ever drove was a 2-150 and we still have a 1980 2-135. Agco was stupid as hell to discontinue the White tractor line.

And I believe that a FWA 2-180 could outpull a 2+2, you could get a ton more hp out of those motors than what they came from the factory with.

  • What a beast!

  • had a 2-180 fwa with duals all around, wish it was still here

  • a friend of mine has a 2-180 4x4, and he claims thats it will out pull an IH 2+2. I dont know whether to beleive him or not. Whats the general concensus?

  • we had a 2-105 4wd that would out pull tractors with more hp than it, but i dunno about a 2+2

  • The 1160 was indeed the 3208's precursor; it was sold from 1968 to 1974.

  • 3208s are one of the easiest diesels to start in the cold...great motors too!

  • This one sure starts good, I'd have to ask my father-in-law to be sure how cold it will start up without plugging in or ether assist.

  • At is time of testing the 2-180 had the highest drawbar hp of any 2WD drive ever built.More then the John Deere 4840,Case 1570,Massey Ferguson 2805 and the Allis Chalmers 7080

  • 3208's were great motors, WFE used them in a lot of different tractors. My great uncle has a 2-180 and its a beast, sure beats them green tractors lol!

  • The WFE was a great range of farm equipment,..if correct they had over 158 draw bar horse power,..180 @ the PTO.

    What a classic machine.

    Cheers.

  • If you where in trucking or construction in the 70's-80's there were thousands of these engines. You would here one every day in some application.

  • Hi. I would like to see you do a long video of this beast in action doing its day job.

Also, this tractor was produced from 1977 to 1987, and in 1982 it cost $55,200.

  • This tractor is retired... The most work it does is on a 12 or 14 foot wide cultivator on the 3-point to work trees.

If I ever happen to be around when my father-in-law is using it, I'll be sure to post a video of it. I can put up one of us accelerating in high gear later this evening or tomorrow...

  • Thanks for the extra info! I have the accelerating video up now - take a look and vote!
