I lived near Rizzo's Pizza in the mid 1990's and without exaggeration, it is still the best pizza I have ever tasted. I never knew if it was the light and crispy crust or the sauce that always tasted like they grew tomatoes at the back of the store. I've travelled all over and I'm a big pizza fan. There are many wonderful places to eat a slice of pizza. Rizzo's on Steinway Street in Astoria is the frontrunner.
BS, Queens has some of the best pizza in New York. Manhattan has the worst pizza of the boroughs, too many Rays Pizza clones there. Brooklyn definitely has the best pizza of the 5 boroughs followed by the Bronx.
Rizzo's is great. I haven't had a slice in 7 years but I still remember how great it is. I used to go there 2 or 4 times a week. Even seeing the back door open from the counter brings back memories.
I had to comment.....Are you out of your mind ? A 4.5 for Rizzo s and only a 3.5 for Regina in Boston. I grew up in Astoria and it hasnt had good Pizza in 20 years ,just like most of NYC now. I tried many of the so called "BEST" from Philly to Boston and Pizzeria Regina Original North End Only location is far the BEST.
