To have someone like Omar Davies who engineered the entrepreneurial holocaust of the 90's back in government is just too much to absorb...the trauma that people like Omar Davies and others in the PNP inflicted upon the people of this country was unprecedented and to bring them back at this most critical time is just unimaginable!

@ghostzzapper if JLP is to ever get a chance again to run this country again, they need better thinkers. why the need for this excessive taxing of products that people need especially computers and computer parts. do you know how useful a computer is in this day and age? it is not only for personal use, it is essential in Businesses which in turn affects the economy. why doesn't the JLP government tax luxury things like SUV's that their own corrupt cronies like to drive in?

The economy was almost dead because of the existence of our crippling debt burden and entities such as Air Jamaica bleeding us dry...imagine paying over $20 billion a year and not even getting as much as a cup of water in return. Our productive sectors were dormant and couple that with our frightening Energy Bill and the extent of our plight should be clearer!!

For those who chose to give Sister P "the MP for Southwest St. Andrew for nearly 40 years" a mandate, just take a look at the depraved, inhumane, social calamity that is her constituency! A vulture would die of toxic shock in some parts of it! Crime,unemployment,extreme poverty,hopelessness and substandard living conditions have prevailed for that entire period of her "reign"! Her inability to improve the fortunes of her constituents seems to have escaped the attention of a half million voters!!

The Jamaican electorate should be ashamed of itself! It has allowed a scandal-drenched,corrupt,polic­y-depraved group of bandits to con them into returning them to office whilst they struggle to repay the proceeds of the PNP's last acts of piracy! I am frightened at the fact that people are prepared to sacrifice their prosperity and the future of their children to get revenge on persons who they consider arrogant but is diligently laying the platform for their social and economic resurrection!!

All politicians are the same and JLP is far from perfect but them at least stablised the economy and the currency and there is not so much killing. We should not focus on the way the delivered her speech or if she is eloquent enough to represent the country, however she is and ole time and I mean that in a good way. Portia Simpson has the idea of how she wants the country to run, some of the ideas I disagree with but the majority of great ones outweighs the not so great one.
