Im my opinion they are equal in a way evan we couldnt fathom. dragoballz is still in production and tys are flying of the shelves. And Akira is evan getting another movie(TETSUO PLLEEEEEEEEEASE kill those hollywood jackasses) If you think about it they are both equal in evryway possible. evan they have there draw backs(DBz WAS TO FUCKING LONG!, and Akira MADE ALMOST NO SENSE!) but stil there popularity is off the charts. The're both just.......AMAZING!

guys both akira and dragon ball are amazing. they were both responsible for popularizing anime/manga in the west. while opinions may vary on which is better, comparing them seems a bit absurd. they're both totally different but they're both legendary.

@Eljonno Dagonball was good til the end of Freeza arc. Everything After that is overated in dragonball i THINK.

And the DBZ ANIME SUCKED, only the dragonball manga was good.
