  • BUNCH OFF FANNIES!

  • memories...

  • Tragically, the singer Lauren Laverne is now a socio-media commentator on British national television. Tragic, isn't it?

  • @brack909 tragic? her sixmusic show is rather good

  • With hindsight, the Britpop era of the 90's were a golden age which threw up many gems which went by and largely unnoticed and this was one of them.I can't believe I'm nostalgic for the 90's.Just goes to show, today's newspaper won't always necessarily be tomorrow's fish n chip wrapper.

  • That crap is NOT punk at all...

  • JupitusPhillip FTW!

  • totally love this song, man! happy days!!

  • great band. great song, extremely underrated.

  • loves kenickie and still listen to their 1st album..its great, like this track but wasnt so keen on the 2nd album

  • I loved Kenickie too! Two great albums to their credit - yeah - they should have been bigger - hope they reform one day for a few gigs

  • luxury song

  • always liked this band. always thought the bassist was real cute! no idea what her name is though!

  • Lalala the sun shines and a thing happened, stuff and things and other stuff and then the man said something and everything was ok.

    Brilliant lyrics/singing.

  • Kenickie were great. This should have been massive. Lauren Laverne was gorgeous. Still is.

I used to get Kenix. Even wrote a few bits for it too. Long time ago now...

  • I'm in pieces, does no one see it?

I am stronger on the outside.

It's easy when you know why.

This feeling sad, it's not so bad.

I've got friends who lift my spirit

I've got songs that no one hears

  • This vid and song was parodied by the female sketch show Smack the Pony about the same time.

Lauren Lavirne is so freakin' pretty! i love her....

well, not literally, 'cos i don't know her, have never met her and am never likely too, but y'know what i mean...

  • yeah i remember kenix .still one of my favorite bands ever saw them 9 times too plus at reading 97 and glasto 98 .i loved marie at the time lol

  • sometimes the sun shines on unkind people

    yes it does

  • My favourite band. Saw them 9 times in all. Oh how I miss them, can't believe its been 11 years.

Anyone remember the fanzine Kenix by Hannah Sykes?

  • Everybody go read "down and out on the murder mile".....it's by the keyboardist and it's fucking awesome!!!!

  • so nineties in the best way possible XD

  • Cute video and song for sure. A move away from their first record. I remember seeing Lauren singing Don't Falter at Shepherds Bush Empire as an opening act for The Charlatans a long time ago. At that time I had no idea about Kenickie. Became a fan of their girl-rock sound, only after they had split-up.

  • its a cute song-they were going to be really big, then just disappeared...

  • I wonder; since Lauren hosts a couple of music shows now, has she ever had to introduce Coldplay's "Fix You?" And if so, did she point out that the swines nicked her theme?? :O

  • I like big butts and I cannot lie

  • You other brothers can't deny

  • she looks like alice from vicar of dibley

  • youlde still tub her tho ,i know i would

  • from Sunderland these lot :)

  • All the best bands have minorities or majorities in them, in this case the red hair is the pushing force behind the blond beauty with her foot on the monitor!!

  • I had such a crush on Marie. *sigh*

  • how come this wasn't a bigger hit great tune memories lol i bought this on 7"inch clear vinyl b side packed in was alrite too. long live kenickie

  • A real band full of real looking people. Thats why the girls are pretty damn hot. No fake boobs and botox!

  • What are you talking about?

  • I think he/she is trying to say, they looked like an honest bunch of kids who didn't have huge plastic breasts or any other plastic feature. The Geetarist was ginger too, a down to earth crew.

  • there was a ginger one in the spice girls,

i hve no idea what im trying to say here just an observation, not that i listened to the spice girls, im just very knowledgable of embarressing facts,

  • @WarpLover "The Geetarist was ginger too, a down to earth crew." Actually made me laugh

  • Where the hell is the drummer? WHO'S DRUMMING? And why do they need 3 guitarists and NO DRUMMER? Where is the damn drummer?

  • johnny x (the bloke) is the drummer, it's just a video.. they didn't record it like that, otherwise they would have microphones wouldn't they.. silly billy..

  • Best thing to ever come out of Sunderland. Apart from Leatherface.

Lauren haters will be summarily executed for being dimwit piss stains.

  • so are you

  • A very hot one at that

  • One of the great lost singles of the 90's ...shoulda been top ten.

    xxx

  • this song was ace! poor old kenickie, it was quite funny how famous they were but only famous for the fact that no one bought their records

  • Great band! Lovely tune.

  • Come on, someone must have In Your Car... I was at the Astoria gig and when the support was on Lauren walked past us - crikey she's a big girl. Mind you I am a short arse...

  • this is a classic song

  • R.I.P. :(

  • I went to the Wolves gig on their last tour. Jonny X came in munching a huge box of jammy doughnuts, and got jam all over Lauren.

I think I knew then it was all going wrong, the gig didn't feel right. Still, thank crikey I got to see them.

Now, can anyone post the Rosita vid?

  • Ack, thank you SO MUCH for posting this!!

  • Gofton!!

  • Finally! I agree more Kenickie is needed. They should never have taken the guitar away from Lauren,as much as I've had a crush on her for ten years now, she can't dance for shit.

Marie looks gorgeous in this video

  • MORE KENICKIE!! Yay! Break out the hairclips and the sparkly bodygel!

  • I loved their first cd... Fantastic! I went to their London Astoria gig at the last minute and thank God I did cos they then split up.

I've never heard them on the radio or seen them on the tv since which is such a shame.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! More Kenickie :-)

  • At last!!! Thank you so much!

  • MORE KENICKIE!!!! :D

  • I love Kenickie, anymore?
