The angles and weapons sets such as sword and dagger are surely based on the European styles, perhaps having been blended with the Moros Silat and pre Christian cultural martial arts of the Islands. As mentioned, there are many European martial manuals having survived from Renaissance times showing the styles.

The dagger block I'm using can be seen in several European medieval fight-book manuals.
Fighting with singlesticks (or cudgels if your using two) was popular in the UK up until the 20thC.
