What do you mean cocky, Stefan was just making sure he gets the puck into the net so he was trying to get as close as possible, he would have got it in 99 999 times out of 100 000, if you think he screwed up, watch the video again and watch closely at about 1:02 how the puck jumps over the blade of his stick while he was getting ready to put it in.

I think the puck jumped his stick at the worst possible moment. This could have happened to anyone.
