"[MPC was a fake company ["Marc Wielage"] ran for laughs while [he] was a college student in the early 70s... 'Miracle Productions Company,' as in 'if it's a good production, it's a miracle.'"
Well, if the Walt Disney Company found out about this tape, they'd have slapped Miracle Productions "with a lawsuit so fast [Miracle Prod.'s] heads would spin."
Hey, how did you get that unique "B" in the word "Betamax" to appear in your message? I didn't know you could do that kind of thing in YouTube comments.
@Marbles471 It's an ALT Code. You hold down the ALT key and then press 225 on the numeric keypad on your keyboard. I'm now up to eight ßeta tapes (including Bambi and The Secret of NIMH) and am still looking for a decent ßetamax machine. A while back I got on off eBay that needed fixing that was just like one I had long ago but it had been hit by either lightning or a power surge and was basically ruined.
Before the video store in my hometown closed down a couple of years ago, it was so old that you could still find a few videos in there that said "Available for VHS and Beta!" Their copy of King Kong was one of them.
Sigh. I'm really going to miss video stores. Netflix is just giving us one MORE excuse to not get off our collective ass. Like we needed another one of those....
Oh yeah, forgot about those little messages they used to put on pirated C64 games...I remember seeing a few of them back in the late 80s when I owned one. :-)
For the music used, it's not the Warner Bros. "Corny Concerto" but the last few seconds of "Jupiter: the Bringer of Jolity" by Gustav Holst from "The Planets" suite.
HOLY MOLY! Where did you find this?! I've never seen anything like it! Hey, could you please post more of this video, like what happens at the very beginning, and that "special feature?"
@Jtaylor1 Funny....... I uploaded Oliver & company on Veoh and it hasn't been taken down yet. The Walt Disney Company are currently a gang of pansies against this stuff.
LOL - I was at the Ground Zero site to work on a project for a college course and a six-year old Asian kid was selling bootlegs of then current (mid 2004) movies.
Even better than camcordered movies? Someone getting up from their seat and blocking the view!
There was nothing at the beginning of the tape that wasn't on the film print- it had an MPAA "G" rating tag and the same opening title card as the versions that are out now. Don't want to put up anything that could make Di$ney cry copyright infringement, though I hope this gives them a good laugh if they see it!
The MPAA will make that company's head spin.

That music could sure use a good tune up. Considering the narrative intros by Deems Taylor showed the orchestra members tuning their instruments.

I think I saw someone filming Ice Age 3 in 3D last week.
When someone buys it...
"Why the heck are there lines? 3D lines?"
I love the music in the Special Feature logo!

Bootleg videos were done in style back in the 70s!
Not like today, where you just have a poor-quality AVI of someone filming a new movie with a camera phone slapped onto a DVD-R.

Whoops. Misread the program description.
Following all the intros was the Warner Bros. animated short "Corny Concerto." Perhaps the "Merry Melodies" play on Disney's "Silly Symphonies".

the reason corny concerto was a "special feature" was because it was a parody of fantasia, complete with elmer as the conductor.

Worst one I saw was the guy filming he movie hid his camera in his popcorn, so you'd see his hand get away every 30 seconds then munch munch munch.
