Some kind of food attached to an arm that swivels around the roach? How bout using vibration? Your method does have the virtue of seeming relatively low impact on the roach...

Was the objective ever met? From what I see in the video the cockroach bumped into things more often than not. It could not even go on a straight path. If there was no validation results then there really wasn't any point at all in doing this project as some earlier commented.
