Dont buy that thing it doesn't work. Google it and you will see that 90 percent of people have problems with it. I just bought one and it wont extract anything. Not Federal, CCI, Remington, Winchester, just to name a few. If you take all the people on you tube that show these kits working times them by 100 and that is how many don't work. CMMG will tell you that you have to use specific ammo but that is bull crap. If it is made right it should eat everything! Federal and CCI almost work.
One word of caution. You need to lube up the outside of the "cartridge" section of the conversion unit before you stick it in your upper. That thing can get stuck in the 223 chamber otherwise. Just make sure you clean out your chamber real good before resuming the use of 223/5.56 ammo afterward. It is recommended that you shoot a few rounds of 223 after using the 22 conversion in order to blow the 22's lead gunk out of the gas tube.
I have a Daniel Defense rifle, decked out with all kinds of toys. Where I live, ammo is very very expensive if you can even find it. So the real question is why would I have a beautiful rifle sit in my safe and pass on training with it because I can't find ammo. The conversion kit is $200 bucks and will allow me to shoot and train with minimal cost. That's why I am doing it.
ok but my question is can you step up from a 22lr i have a colt 22lr ar 15 can i turn this into a 556 or will cost me the same to just buy a 556

Why the hell would you want to change a .223 caliber to a crappy little .22?
