@ssalient yes the SID chip is amazing ! with the 2007 software it is acid all the way but the resonance on fr777 and tb303 is way more intense but the SID rocks ! If they had the software 20 years ago . . wow :)
Hi booster 69 and thank you for posting this! Now I'd like to know if you are using the MPC2500 just as sequencer to comand the 808 here. Thanks! -mick
Magnificent! I own a 777 and I am starting to really groove it nicely with an Xbase 999, but I am awestruck by your on-the-fly moves with the Akai. Nice job.
Niiiiice. The 777 is like that calculus class you had in high school.... one day you go in, and just like that, you 'get it', and all the knobs find nice cozy little homes in your mind's bedroom. I've owned two of them (still own the SN#666), and I cannot imagine my life without one. While this can get close to the 303, the 303, conversely, cannot even approach the sonic mayhem that is the 777. Nice 'verb btw...and nice clean knob manipulation! thanks!
nnnnnnnnnnnoooooooo. That's like putting Prego ontop of of a nice pasta al dente vero! Well, the 'verb sounds nice all the same. Xenyx must be a step up from their other stuff.. cool!
Likewise...I just invested in a speck xsum and MH 2882. You have gear worth of this type audio quality. The difference is NIGHT and DAY in what you end up with...all the magic of analog and 'live' is captured and the transients come through and the headroom and the bassssss... KDFX will be hoppin'! post vids!
I love Fr-777!!! great rhythm trip...

All 808, 909 drum sounds are samples on the MPC2500. But triggering an 808 with a MIDI retrofit kit would also work.

I now what you mean, the controls at first seem daunting, but after a few hours with it you learn the power that this thing has. I love it!
The reverb is coming from the internal effects on my Xenyx 1202FX mixer!

I know!! It's a "stopgap" mixer only.
With all the outputs on my other gear I need a bigger mixer anyway.
Oh, and I have also just installed KDFX on my Kurzweil K2500R, so I should be able to route external stuff through that soon!! :-)

Upload some more sounds.
I could listen to this for hours!!

The 777 sounds real good, not quite the same sound as a 303 but damn close, and a lot more sound control!
The pad is a sample played back from the MPC.
I only got these recently so I'm still learning the controls!!
booster69 4 years ago
Love that FR777, it has such a great sound.
The pad that played halfway through; was that the MPC or some other gear?
