  • Waoooo good job, 73 de EA7IQZ

  • cool

  • You prolly wished it took 5 mins huh? good work :)

  • Exelent videos you have Randy.

  • do you attend weightwatchers? great video for them

  • Hi Randy,

You made an excellent job > cleaning the radio room I mean. I hate the cleaning over here...! I did not discover You Henry...You replaced with Ameritron > my god why?

How long time did You spent with cleaning hi? It seems like all weekend...

    73 - Petr, OK1RP

  • @michaelscoofield It was a long day of cleaning. Henry went bye bye. I was having problems with the mechanicals of gears, cams, and chains keeping it all aligned. Electrically, no problems, mechanically there were issues. The AL-82 is good, smaller, quieter, and pumps out watts.

  • @michaelscoofield wow nice video and booombass music, good RDO room.73

  • Let me see Clean up Shack? What is that?

  • Man, I am worn out watching. How much do you charge per hour? Schedule me for about 60 hours to clean up this mess here.. I would do it myself but you are sooooo much faster... Hi

Honestly, I believe cables deliberately entangle themselves when we are not watching; perhaps they are making out.

    73,

    Glenn

  • 73 HI HI

  • Hi Randy,

    Great video with nice music.

I can't discover the big Henry amp....did you sell it?

    73 Dirk PA2C

  • Henry has been replaced by AL.

  • I'm a little surprised that you haven't got into Software Defined Radio...

I keep hearing people say that its the way of the future... you have ben into radio for a long time, what do you think ???

  • You can down load the Flex software and sample files. I like a radio with knobs. I don't want my radio to be dependent on windows. I like to use pc to assist the radio. The K3 has a lot of SDR inside, all mod/demod and filtering is DSP, with updates from Elecraft for improvements and new features.

  • Another great video Randy, really enjoyed the music too. Good to see you are still making videos.

  • Hello Randy,

    great rig that K3.

    73 and good DX

  • I would like to know what music you are using. I would like to get a copy as I have a bunch of work in my shack to do and if your music helps you move that fast, I am sure it will help me too.:)

    Great video!

  • mmm computer workstation looks sexy

  • was your k3 a kit?

  • No, I found a good deal on a used one, which was already assembled. I would have enjoyed assembling the kit!

  • Randy - you're back! You've made my day. No in fact, you've made my year. Please get making more videos! I was really missing watching them. 73 de Matt MW3YMY

  • GOd thats a bit Gay dont you think buddi

  • You May have Hated Cleaning But once everything is done and setup up how you want it feels really good.

  • There were a couple of dust bunnies under the table snarling at me when I approached with the vac . They now have a new home.

  • Randy, this is a great great video. You really have a sense of humor about the sandwiches. I kept saying, "Um, another sandwich?" I really liked this. Did you use YouTube music, or is this some that you had? It's perfect Laurel and Hardy. You've inspired me much over the years. KC7FYS/7J1AWL Jonathan

  • Yes, getting a new radio. Digging through the manual looking for menu for serial baud rate. Then needing serial ports to control. A port on the antenna switch. Wire amplifier keying to radio. Buying some new connector that you have never used. Digging through the manual for the connector pinouts. Software for control. Installing software upgrade application then upgrading radio's software. Find a new home for the old gear, but not really getting rid of it.

  • Thanks for sharing all your hard work....

  • That works, i dont know how to program it, so that all good. thank you so much

  • I like this video Randy!

  • great videos, I've realy ben enjoying them... I'm takeing the exam in march and I study every day... hope to have a K3 someday, but I'll have to start cheaper than that....

  • wow looks good, how long did it actually take you to finish it?

  • About 5-6 hours. You don't see me fighting with the computer. Having re-boot problems with the new serial cards. Yuk.

  • A great video Randy!!!, Been waiting for a video from you for ages. All the best!

  • There should be better soon. This was just for fun.

  • Finally! A new video!! Very cool video and station! Wish I had the money for a K3 :) - KE5RRH

  • Hi Randy,

Good luck with the K3. Always find your videos most helpful. thank you

    Aidan EI7JC

  • Congratulations on the K3, it is on my list to upgrade from my K2. I went back "home" to the US for 3 weeks and intended to go down to Elecraft and get a K3 kit but got side tracked and got a new Nikon lens for my camera instead. I think photography is more expensive than ham radio now, the K3 is a bargain relatively, for a great radio.

  • My room should be cleaned also, when do you have time? ;-)

    nice Video!

    73 de Chris OE5HCE

  • Once every five years is enough.

  • Good to see you posting videos again, Randy! You have my dream Ham shack, but I do not envy the cleanup =)

  • Great video Randy, I hate working under the operating desk also. The shack looks good nice and clean, that sandwich looked good also. I think I am going to the kitchen now.

  • Hi Randy,

Great Video! What is the mic on the K3, MC60?

    Tnx for the video

    KN1W

  • Yes, I bought the K3 used, with MC-60 mic, Tentec switching power supply and Signalink USB. The radio has four filters installed.

  • @K7AGE Yes but why did you get the K3 isn't the TS-2000 a far better radio? <--- Noob question

    Just wondering why you upgraded

  • The K3 has much better performance specs than the TS-2000. The K3 is modular, so I can add internal options. I have been following the K3 since it was introduced 3 years ago. Great group of guys, you can communicate with the design team. They provide software updates for performance improvements and new features. I got a very good deal on this used radio. The TS-2000 is staying, good backup, better for remote control, and V/UHF bands. You can never had too many radios.

  • great vid... may have to do the same thing when I do house cleaning on the shack

  • Great Video Randy!
