Thanks, I was hoping someone posted some info. In 1974 we traded copied pictures, lit and cassettes freely. In 84, VHS and Betamax. Now it's digital files. They'll get the site back up after the trial is over and they can stop the DoS attack. TPB has NOT, repeat, NOT been shut down by the government of Sweden. Some asshole wanted to be famous with computer nerds.

None of this is true. Pirate bay has had a DoS attack against it. TorrentFreak and various news sites have confirmed.

after the first raid they moved the servers to more then one country the servers aren't even in Sweden anymore. And they don't even know where they are housed. At least that's the way i heard it.

I live in Sweden. All I know is that the people affiliated with Pirate Bay have been involved in a trial. The standard claim, sharing is stealing etc.

The last thing I heard was that the "pirates" could face a sentance up to 1 year in prison.

But if the site was truly taken down, or if it's just some other technical malfunction, I don't know.

Our goverment doesn't have the authority to just take a site down like that. They need a court order.

Which they may have gotten... :/
