In Australia (where me and my jackie live) It is now illegal to dock parts of animals for personal style (ie tails, ears, mane, etc).

And yes, JRT's have massive Inferiority Complexes (otherwise known as Small Man Syndrome... or in this case, Small Dog Syndrome)

@UncleFizzmo My old jack russell terrier had a really long tail personally i dont like the idea of cutting off a piece of its spine just to make the dog look different. Plus i used to like seeing my dog wag its huge tail when it was excited :)

I know it's horrible, but I love cropped tails. I think they're adorable. IMO, as long as they don't feel any pain, what's the harm? Cropping ears and noses I have a problem with, though. That's just cruel.

@Dallasboy678 thats true when my old JTR was 12 weeks old it dominated my 3 year sheepdog cross lol even on the morning my dog passed away it still had the strength to get up and bark at my neighbours alsatian it was never scared of any dogs the bigger the better.

i have a jack russel wit a docked tail.. i dnt think they look better.. though.. personally i feel like they should end wit wat they strted wit.. n i like the long tails.. but i dnt really care.. my dog is a dog whether he can communicate or not.. n we shouldnt be all hostile over someone gettin their tails docked.. u kno.. .. its their opinion just like urs is not to get one.. oh n in advance i didnt get it docked.. the other owner did and i took this one in.. :)

That simply isn't true, dogs communicate in much subtler ways than tail wagging..... Watch how a submissive dog will roll onto it's back or lie down when a more dominant dog approaches... Clear body language...

ye i agree, they have other ways of communicating but their tail is a major part in in expressing things. when their tale goes in between their leg its meaning their fearful. When its in the middle with the tip pointing up their calm and subissive and when their tail is straight and in the middle it means aggression. So im just saying that its sad that dogs with docked tails can not communicate the way their suppose to.

In some countries tail docking is illegal. Jack Russells are born with a long tail only the ones that are cut or "docked" are shorter.
