  • Why did they re-release it when the only thing they did is make the game a 16:9 aspect ratio?

  • The framerate SUCKS :P

  • Whatever happened to DEH-EE-TOOOO-NAAAA?

  • @IrishRetroGamer Daytona is a brand, and Sega lost the cross license to produce Daytona games. So, they had to change the name, that's really all they did.

  • @IrishRetroGamer -- they lost the rights to the daytona racing club

  • damm SEGA Racing Classic is not what I expected :( I expected a Daytona USA with updated graphics. Outrun 2006 graphics would have been nice :S .... I guess we won't see this in PS3 or 360, maybe as a downloadable game from PSN or XBL but not a "full game". DAMM SEGA :S

  • @SuperSZ i was expecting all AM team sega epic classic racing to be in that game

  • As far as I know, Sega Racing Classic is still a working title, expect the game to look a lot better than what it is right now.

  • @axi8148 Nope.. SRC is just Daytona USA. Same game, same graphics. It is even rumoured that the machine is running an emulated version of Daytone with a few graphics adjustments.

  • I'll keep playing Daytona USA 2001 with nullDC, because it's better than this.

  • But can you play 8 players over the internet and slide round corners at 300kph by going 4th-2nd-4th??

  • anyway to play this on PC???? plz tell.

    thanks.

  • @leanuue - It's for Sega's latest arcade hardware, impossible for MAME, but a PC port would be nice...

  • This game runs on Sega Ringwide hardware.

It's a crappy Intel Celeron 2 GHz with 1 GB of PC5400 DDR2 RAM and some AMD GPU (so it says, probably ATI), so it's crap hardware.

It runs on Windows Embedded, so if it gets leaked like BlazBlue, we're in luck, we'll most likely be able to play it.

  • Hmm, that sounds promising :)

  • Yeah, and it'd run a shitload better on my rig. This has a slowdown. :/

  • Wouldnt it be great if they brought this out on PC, with online multiplayer, and followed it up with arcade versions of Sega Rally and Manx TT, simular graphic updates as they have here, but without the clipping.

Still, playing the Nebula emulator version online is great fun, and plays pretty much as it did on an arcade machine when you use a G25 or G27 wheel.

We can live in hope mate eh?

  • Yeah, that WOULD be great. We can at least hope.

And I need to get myself a freakin' wheel to play with.

  • If they were just going to bump up the res they should have gone full 1080p. Eliminating the pop up and antialiasing wouldn't have hurt either.

  • Game of the Century

  • Without question ;) Thumbs up!!

  • but without the DAY-TONAAAAA!

  • @figment1988 - Because Sega no longer own rights to the Daytona license.

  • i wonder if it still retains the tune "King of Speed" (a.k.a. the "ROLLING STAAAAAART" song)?

  • @Shoryukenn THAT? Game of the century? I'd raher play the good old Daytona USA... since this is pretty much EXACTLY THE SAME THING.
