  • Does anyone else think Frollo looks like Mr. Bean??

  • @TheSpeedPainteress You cannot compare Daniel to Mr.Bean. Or maybe..because Daniel <3 is a god , compared to Mr. Bean .

  • Luther will write the New Testament.. and we're at the dawn of a divided world

  • i think it's funny that they talk abt how the books will destroy catedrals. it was really fun to read abt in the book too, most because they actually got a point. and if you look at our world today you see that they actually was right. AND remember! the book was written 1831 ;D

  • @lajlasa that's wright!!!! I though t the same thing

  • @mirrorman95 Does anyone know what I said that got removed?

  • Absolutely awesome musical. Saw it live, here in Italy, and I can only say that it was an unforgettable experience. Now I'm making up for never seeing the original French version by watching some videos, even if I REALLY wish I saw this one live too. Just beautiful.

And by the way, Greetings from Florence. ;)

  • It is really a beautiful musical.. I watched all the clips from act 1 to 2 finale & it took hours <3 Thanks for uploading ......

  • "Quasimodo est malheureux " ça me fend le coeur.

  • @ManiasWorld Tu as plusieurs possibilités.

  • It looks like Frollo is always looking at Gringoiren as asking him what to do) But their words are really profits/

  • It looks like Frollo is always looking at Gringoiren as asking him what to do)

  • what is the name of gringoire?

  • Absolutely beautiful and inspirational! My favorite musical by a long shot - wonderful talent I could watch all day :) c'est manifique x

  • Through the prism of love, this musical summarises 1000 years of human history. Wonderful libretto, reflecting every turn of humanity towards its illumination. Music matching in beauty the wording... I listen to this musical for 10 years, never tiring of it. Love... this "banality of existence" (Collette) which, at the same time is the biggest field of heart battle (De Gaul)

  • I was good til 1:58. then I exploded.

  • they sound really nice together..

  • Sposób, w jaki on podnosi brwi... Gringoire, znaczy się <3

I felt in love in the way he makes him eyebrows up <3

  • Yes!

I would never have expected them to include this part in an adaptation. Believe it or not, 'This Will Kill That' occupies about 40 pages of the book and involves no characters: just Hugo philosophising.

People rant about crazy description like that, but what they don't understand is that it's part of the story. Notre-Dame de Paris is 90% atmosphere: it's these side-conversations that make it so powerful!

And "Luther will re-write the New Testament", not 'write' it. What's that about?

  • @Amy3422 To clarify, Martin Luther re-wrote the New Testament in German to help the spread of Christianity into northern Europe.

  • @GsNRs Yeah. I think they're also referring to how he started Protestantism. Just commenting on the bad subtitles :)

  • what is up with the huge fucking EYEBROWS

  • legendary voices ... I love it!

Not an exact translation, but I hope the main meaning is there. I changed some lines of the official Russian translation to be closer to the French version. I hope Russians like :) I love their voices

  • i love the little smile on bruno's face at 1.58. for me he's the best singer i've ever seen. and he's so beautiful ;-)

  • I just love the way people are discussing about which version is better. All i want to say to those who love the italian/english/russian/spanish version is that : no french one (the first one) = no foreign version. Then again maybe it is just my patriotic sense that arise !?

  • Though it's not my favourite song (doesn't mean I don't like it, mind. Heck, I love every song in this musical!), but it's performed by my favourite characters... so... J'ADORE!!!

  • I'm so in love with Grengoire/Bruno.

  • Everyone's feeling sorry for Quasimodo . . . someone needs to feel sorry for Frollo . . . oh wait that's me. :)

  • @Abhilynn I always felt sorry for Frollo and the way Daniel plays him + his beautiful voice makes me feel even more sorry

  • @Abhilynn I'm sorry for everyone but Phoebus .

  • @Abhilynn totally agree. he is in a terrible situation...

  • @Abhilynn i feel sorry fr both of them but i still hate phoebus

  • Haha love the two most liked comment xD

  • if I were Esmeralda I will stay with Grenoire!!!!

  • I think that this song's lyrics are more... "impressive" in italian... But the others... Wo, the french version is great!

  • god how ashamed i am that i didn't see this, every single song makes me shiver i love this play

  • wow the translation sucks im french

  • @tristram599 its a french musical O.o

  • @tristram599 If you do are French please don't put shame on us. I'm French AND in a translation school -> the translation is perfect (for a litteral translation)

  • Too late fairlady and fin56 ... HAHAHA

  • Frollo and Gringoire take a break to discuss today's newspapers (Y)

  • Bruno...que lindo canta

  • amazing :)

  • I love this song! To me ,Daniel and Bruno have the most beautiful voices in this musical(and very beautiful voices in general, both so clear ,sexy ,strong and able to convey emotion)so a duet like this is PERFECT ! Garou's voice is great too,it's special, different but per total Daniel and Bruno have the best voices.

Oh and I call Gringoire "Fabio" ...the hair and eyebrows are amusing in both Bruno's character and Frollo's, they're both handsome men but that make-up is funny

    so lourd de significations....

  • @Draklara les livres de l'école* :)

  • I like that Frollo and Gringoire just sort of interrupt the plot to have a nerdy discussion about culture. They win at life.

  • @akukama

But it's not a real "interrupt", it's like reaffirming the historical period... you know, after the pause between first and second act people need a "resume" to feel again parto of the musical.

  • @DmitrijWilson

Sure, in real life. But, in the context of the play, they're dropping what they're doing and having a pleasant chat about the future of civilization. I appreciate this.

  • @akukama lol true dat, but you have to keep in mind that plamondon is trying to stay close to the book by hugo, and in that book grngoire and Frollo are friends, I think he's just trying to reflect that in his musical.

  • @MAFenderjazzbass I know. It's just that, in the musical, they're not friends, so this comes entirely out of the blue. Not that I'm complaining.

  • @akukama It's in line with the first song of the musical where there's a 'nerdy' speech bij Gringoire about the time the live in "les temps des cathedrales".

  • you can have the guy, I'll take the JACKET!

  • Bello vídeo!!!!

  • C'est trop bien !!

  • While your splitting Bruno, I'll take Frollo <3

  • @XxM00nSHADExX No,you wouldn't.Coz when you find him I'll be already there.:)

  • @XxM00nSHADExX while you all are fighting over bruno and frollo, ill take clopin :3 <3

  • Damn, it seems I'm to late... =P

  • @NaomiPhantom what do you mean?

like in knowing about this song?

  • @SurayyahT

No, here are allready two girls who want to marry Bruno, so I'm to late

  • @NaomiPhantom oh lol bt ur not too late yall could have a polygamist marriage.... lol

  • @SurayyahT Hahaha let's do that =D

  • @NaomiPhantom lmfao..

^^ The best.

  • Gringoire in every language is the best caracter of Notre Dame... Cocciante's music is wonderful! <3 _italy_

  • Bruno chante merveilleusement bien :DD j'adore

  • It's an interlude in the play... Frollo and Gringoire sing it to show how the world arounds them changes, they are both pillars of a disappearing world in which Religion and Poetry no longer fit. The world becomes bigger, borders change and are open to other people like the sans- papiers. And in the end, everything dies.

  • I don't get this song. How does it fit with the rest of the play? And why would Frollo sing it?

  • Hi

Can someone tell me where this is recorded? so I can try to find the dvd..

    many thanks in advance...

  • @Thomasken21

Are you serious? It's NOTRE DAME DE PARIS musical (in native French). It's in Guinness World Record book...

  • @alucard0712 why would it be in the Guinness World Record Book?

  • @YTheLadyButlerY

Most popular musical ever. But what I mean by that - it's easy to find DVD with it :)

  • J'adore Bruno Pelletier...

  • this is amazing. j'aime bruno. i really do.

    Bruno !!! :D

  • Wonderfull!

  • souviens-toi en

  • Pelletier it's like Braveheart got punched

  • that's why we said it's SET in france not that is a French production hun..

  • Comment removed

  • yea that is sooo true, the original is always better than the rest of them haha

  • this french version is soooo much better than the italian one, the korean, the russian and all of them other ones! .. plus all these actors are hoooootttt!!1 :D

  • Agrree! :) its also because it is set in France. The Original is always better than the rest! :)

  • Sorry but this is a French Canadian production, it's not from France

  • @ChildrenOfQuebec They are french actors/singer not Canadian.

  • @BDMJEAM they are french canadian ... not french ...

  • @aseal4747 I certainly should precise 'not all of them' !

Garou, Daniel, Maheu, Bruno... : Canadien

Hélène Ségara, Fiori, Julie Zenatti... : French

  • Cette comédie musical est tout simplement magnifique ! :) ♥.♥. I love this song ! ♥.

  • The French cast is the first and the best!!!)))))))

  • its guteNberg

  • While I was helping a thirteen-year-old friend with her History homework, I made her listen to this song (and others from this masterpiece),,, she was so interested and thrilled!

  • i like this song it`s amazing

  • j'adore cette chanson historique très juste.

  • Sometimes their voices fit so perfectly I can't difference the two voices. Marvellous

  • unico!!

  • oh i love this!!!

  • i acted this live on the stage...i really enjoyed.

  • You mean you were one of the actors/dancers? Or am I misunderstanding it?

  • yeah i acted in summer 2005 in Turkey / Antalya with French Dancers....was wonderful.

  • You mean with Garou, Bruno, etc? Cause then I'm really really reaaaly jealous right now! (I adore them!)

  • Or you probably mean you acted with the dancers that danced in the original one? Or something like that?

  • oui tu as la raison:)

  • The translation isn't so good but nice song =)

  • Does anybody know what the last line is, the one translated by "Because he's lovesick"? Are they singing "il se meurt d'amour"? Is that a common expression in French?

  • Yes.... :) We use it,.. it's not common but some ppl use it

  • @konijnmetazijn they say parcequ'il se meurt d'amour. Is not a common expression any more, but some of us still using it!!

  • Thank you both!

  • It mean hes dying of love

  • @konijnmetazijn It used to be common in the time of great poets ... but today you don't hear that very often. Let's just say it's old languages.

  • i think every girl on youtube is going to marry him, he gonna have a huge harem :) actually he's not as cute as that now, he 47 yo now, he's still handsome, but not as that

  • Excellent song of this wonderful musical. Both singers in this video have great voices. I am not sure which I love more.

  • I've decided I'm going to marry Bruno Pelletier

  • You too? What a coincidence. HAHAHA!!!

  • Lol !

  • @yourfairlady05 hein, moi aussi! :) me too.

  • @yourfairlady05 he doesnt know yet? :p
