Nice demo but may I make a little suggestion? Could you put a note on your video suggesting to remove the plug before attempting to touch the inside of the player? Just in case ANYONE DIES!
@TTempje Thanks mate. nice one. Sorry for being a killjoy but my brother died through an electric shock.......We tried for a stay of execution but alas no luck. (joke)
Do you know anything about repairing broken controller ports/internal memory? The front port on AVGN's CD-i doesn't work, and he can't save Zelda's Adventure.

@fredwilma1000 I should tell people to do that, but as you can see I didn't when I made the movie :)
But you are right, I should have warned people in the video.
So here goes;
Be careful!!!
The most dangerous part is the power brick in the right back of the unit, do NOT touch that part without knowing what you are doing!

@an1man1ac54l1f3
Defect front port is very strange, but could be related to the memory problem.
If the timekeeper battery is almost depleted, savegame memory and other states get corrupted at first (could cause a none working port).
When the battery is totally depleted the port should work, but savegame information will be cleared when the unit is powered off.
The only cheap fix I know is connecting an external battery to the memory and timemodule. somewhat difficult

I just used a rubber band and spayed oil and now the mechanism work perfectly, but the lens seems lazy...

@o0JohnnyReb0o The units with a CDM-12.4 laser modules are known to be very bad.
Skipping, not reading some discs etc.
