The gameboy was the first console I ever played, and this was the only game I had for it. This game is @#%&ing amazing, When I first played it, I was too young to even understand how to get by the save file select screen, but I still remember moving around with no effing idea what I was doing. Something like five years later I finally beat the game. I always had this game with me. The further my mind developed, the further I got in this game.

@ANTIcoFilms I just recently replayed this on my 3DS. I only actually figured out how to change to color mode while watching the credits, funnily enough. Hold L + R and press Y.

@ANTIcoFilms Haha, yeah, sorry about that. I just realized that replaying the game last night. I thought it was color mode, but it's just old-school Gameboy green mode. Considering that there's only one game in the Virtual Console that appears in color, it looks like Nintendo just didn't emulate Super Gameboy color on the 3DS.

No it's Jumpman because in Donkey Kong for the arcade Mario was called Jumpman and during the process of the game he was called Videoman.

@Ccastenir yeah but one should also note there is no such thing as a poison mushroom in new york (which donkey and dk junior constantly use later in this game + dk junior shouldn't even be around yet). therefore all levels after the original four are non cannon.

Man I remember having this on GB back in the day (around 1995 I believe). I bought it on a whim. Made it through the first 4 levels, and was then BLOWN AWAY by the fact that the game didn't just end there... it turned into a sort of Mario 3/Mario World affair with maps, tons of levels, etc.

File>Open Rom

Then select a GB rom. Thats basically the UI that every emu uses for rom loading.

I guess you've tried this already so make sure your using the right emulator and roms.
