anyone ever jump over the flag pole in mario? i did it a few times. it just keeps repeating the scene and you can't get back until you run out of time.
Tampa, i came third. i had the highest qualifying score at the event of 3.2mil in my bracket. I messed up in tetris in the final and only got 1.2mil. I remember it like yesterday.
Seeing that the 20 year anniversary of the Nintendo World Championship is coming, shouldn't nintendo hold a new nintendo world championship? Nintendo world championship 2010 (on wii)? This is how I think it would go...
Collect 50 coins in new super mario bros. wii
Complete a few laps in excite truck
And spend the rest of your time in either tetris party or Dr. Mario online Rx
For $17,500, I'd buy a good used car. If I had more money to purge, I'd definatly check this out... or just play Mario, Rad Racer, and Tetris in the same fashion.
This game is started by pressing the Controller 2 start button. (For the competition, they had a switch rigged up that started all the cartridges at once.)
I'm pretty sure this video was created with an emulator playing the NWC ROM. I've posted a video of the real cart, you can find it in my video section.
If it's emulated, then I'd really love to check it out; try the rom. But as far as I'm concerned, this game cannot be emulated, except the title screen, because of the uniqe switch system on the cart. Am I right?
it can't be emulated, obviously, for legal reasons. Technical limitations are there to be beaten, and have been beaten. The DIP switches are no problem for - for example - Nestopia, or so I've heard.
To get past the title screen, you will need to hit start on controller 2 IIRC. To emulate it, I do remember some emulator that will run this rom, since it uses a different mapper compared to all the other games out there.
i played this on a ROM using NESten as the emulator. seifer22532 is right. you need to hit start on p2 and then you can play. the timing is based on the actual competition.
Rad Racer kicked ass. To this day it is still my favorite racer of all time. The graphics and play are shit by todays standards (it came out when i was in JK.) But it really was a fun game.I hope it comes out on virtual console.
Wow, talk about a blast from the past. I was the Indianapolis winner for 12-17, great to see this live on more than what Nintendo let it. Thanks again, now its time to pull out the ole NES and my NWC cartridge.
id rather kill myself than have this game...

you can make a lot more money playing the stock market over those 20 years and then buy back about 5 of these carts.

Seemed shorter than it should've been. Nice job here. By the way, is Rad Racer really a good game?
RedSalamander 5 years ago
I hate Rad Racer personally. I am not really a racing game fan, and the engine was REALLY bad. I'd take Mario Kart over that anyday.
