  • "A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power. When you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice. Remember that."

    Best quote :)

  • Who played duduk in that soundtrack?

  • 2:52 The great army marches with the cross

  • This soundtrack is played by Ruben Harutyunyan

  • we all walk the sands of time, together alone we search for the truth. The truth is within each and every one of us, and we all know what it is. Why follow when all you are doing is following yourself. Peace be with you all.

  • Great film.

  • This movie is historically incorrect, despite a few details being true. Entertaining but I'd rather watch a movie that is true to history.

  • @lildude677 Then watch a documentary instead?

  • DUDUK PLAYED BY RUBEN HARUTYUNYAN

  • - I will send you my physicians.

    - As-Salamu Alaykum

You can write an essay on these two sentences, especially after the epic scene of two armies meeting. Great music, great message.Rare chivalry on both our and Muslim side.

  • Magical duduk, god bless Armenia for such an instrument

  • Werent Saladin originally Arabian? who moved towards Egypt, and became leader?

pls leave answer if you know thanks imah gone use it for school project. :)

BTW coooool soundtrack, i really love this movie. Very exciting story beyond this holy war.

  • @zesusdk Salah-ad-din was a kurd ;p, even though he ruled over arabs..

  • @woodwyrm ahh :P I dont know if you know about the totalwar sega's. But it is based on true story.. "THEY SAY" but.. if your right, their a big fat lair xd. Thanks for the advice

  • @zesusdk Try google

  • we r the kingdom of heaven

  • The scene when Moslem soldiers cheered gloriously as they finally drove the foreign invaders from the Holy Land. Salahuddin, instead of rejoicing with his men, reflect on what had just transpired. He saw a crucifix lying on the floor but sincerely picked it up and placed it nicely on the table.

Its a shame such leaders we are lacking in the modern world.

  • omfg! Edward Norton was the king?!?

  • @PCHSfootball93 Pretty sure that's all bullshit, bro.

  • Richard Coeur de Lion

Richard didn't speak much English at all, the title 'Lion heart' or heart of a lion, was first used in French terms.

  • The French language was the preferred language of many nobles across England, even if they were not disputably French. The language at the time was considered to be the superior language and should be spoken by all of the higher order.

Richard was born in Oxford though I believe. And I am certain his father was French (had been born on English territory in France or was actually proper French noble I am unsure), unsure about his mother though.

  • @BritGBM,

Richard was indeed born in Oxford. His father was Henry of Anjou, otherwise known as Henry II of England. His mother was Eleanor of Aquitaine. Both are French by heritage, the same goes for Richard, who can't really be considered as English. He was the King of England for 10 years, but spent only 6 month in his kingdom. The rest of the time he spent in the Levant and France.

  • @ImperatorTX ethnicly he was english though, and when he was in France he was in the english part, he angered the French a little too much for the french to claim him. He certainly showed more of an alliegeance to England than France. Joan of Arc was Italian, Napolean was corsican, but not really, the geography of the matter can't be considered, and even then it's were they end up, not where they start

  • @Nuraddil What you said made sense. Geography indeed matters little. Nicely put , mate.

  • @Nuraddil Joan d'Arc was French.

  • hey, wasnt it so because he had been granted a certain title after conquering jerusalem or so? french named title actually?

  • Yes, King Richard was given his nickname by the Muslims (or possibly the French, i say possibly because Richard was actually French and not English, he could speak little English) for his bravery and courage he showed during his time in the Crusades. So, it is a nickname he earned in the Crusades.

  • As a sidenote (because youtube prevented me from posting it due to word count):

King Richard and Salah ad din (known to us as Saladin) were very good friends and often talked about giving the kingdom of Jeruselem to their children as a dowry if their children got married (history of the Crusades would've been quite different had this happened). Both men were great kings who won the respect of many and are still well known figures today.

  • Do you know why was Richard nicknamed so? He had enormous heart in biological way of meaning. After his death they opened his body and realised it.

  • @Halliwheell What nonsense!

He was granted the title of "Lionheart" because of his fearlessness and ferociousness on the battlefield!

  • Best movies of this time

  • What is that opening instrument called?

  • I think it might be a Duduk.

  • VIVA EL REINO DE CRISTO!! CRISTO REY

  • Baldwin ....

  • KEN BALDWIN! =D

  • If you like the character, you should read the history behind this King, he was a truly great leader, and was so brave and had so much courage to deal with his disease and the troubles he faced. He was so awesome even his enemies respected and loved him. Great movie, but to know it really happened, makes it even more amazing!

  • Now, if only Balian of Ibelin had been anything like he was portrayed in the movies! :P

  • I doubt there was anyone as Kingdom of Heaven's Balian in those dark times...

  • Richard the Lion Heart?

  • @truetrini019 his name was Baldwin II. who ruled very short but was rememberd.

  • @EarthNacionalist is Baldwin IV...

  • @EarthNacionalist He wasent baldwin the II he was baldwin IV

  • Love the armenian Duduk in this at 3:00 perfect for movies like this It is also in gladiator music

  • @truetrini019 Thanks sister xx

  • Amazing! Entrancing indeed!

  • is this hans zimmer or what ?

    xx

  • Ooh..stupid me, it's harry gregson williams . Sorry :$

  • I think so

  • @HULLOHULLO15 no even he was a criminal and he double crossed his ideals

  • beautiful...just speechless.

    x

  • This is the best song in the soundtrack. King Baldwin was the best character too, for me.

  • who was he played by?

  • Edward Norton

  • Ed Norton

  • Edward Norton is so great in the role of the King! He is amazing actor, I love to watch every movie with him.

  • @Youkawi that was fucking ed norton? damn i didnt realise that

  • @Youkawi everyone even press says that edward norton has a great performance in the movie. am i too idiot? he wore mask in the entire movie. you can put anyone inside that costume; why edward norton and how people can asses his performance

    can you please enlighten me

  • @djkobay So if you would wear this mask and played in the movie would do it as good as him? - I sincerely doubt it. A good actor in the game uses not only his face, but also posture, gestures, voice. And Edward Norton in this movie was playing with all himself - tormented, sick but very noble and wise king.

  • best soundtrack of ever

  • OST Lady u are fantastic, thanks for musics

  • the good part starts at 2.50

    great song

    kingdom of heaven rulezzzz

  • Brilliant soundtrack...

  • a instrument, and amazing.all the soundtrack is amazing...

  • Is that a singer or an insturment at the beginning??

  • "What man is a man who does not make the world better."

  • tell salahudin jerusalem has come...

  • do u have the last scene music? when they climb up the hill??

  • thatsa part from battle of kerak or crusaders

  • The duduk has such a beautiful sound! I'm actually glad it isn't used more, because it makes it a little bit more haunting and special.

  • What's a duduk?

  • A woodwind instrument from Armenia. It's the warm sounding instrument in the very beginning of the track.

  • That instrument doesn't come from armenia, Caucas region to be clear.

  • hey what is the soundtrack when the king died?

  • king's fall

  • thank you ^_^

  • i noticed some distinct similarities that I know from the Narnia Soundtrack, then I noticed the director's the same, which really explains why the Narnia soundtrack sounds so Easter.... it's interesting, and thanks for posting these, they're very lovely

  • yeah i noticed it too, lol

  • best track from Kingdom of Heaven !

vocal part is totally awesome but the best moment is from 2:51 to 4:20

Sounds a little bit like 'A Narnian Lullaby'. But both soundtracks are very good and there are some differences between them. ;)
