  • what a beautiful message....imagine if our evolution will be that we will become telepathic...so that we cannot be blind to the suffering anymore.....through meditation and openmindedness.....that is when I believe a global peace will ensue.....when many cannot be represented by a few...when every voice and thought can be heard around the world....we will care because we have to....I truly believe peace is possible..global peace..forget our ego, forget our pride

peace and light to you all :)

  • Humans and peace.. ha!

  • The teachings of the Buddha are so relevant and profound!!! Humanity need to learn and contemplate such teachings sincerely in order to promote peace and nonviolence!!!

Thank you for posting this video!!! Na Mo Amitofo!!!

  • I LOVE this video! Great music and imagery. If only more people would follow the teachings of the Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh.

  • "Monks, this holy life is lived, not for the sake of deceiving people, not for the sake of inveigling people, not for the sake of the rewards of gain, offerings, & tribute, nor with the thought, 'Thus may people know me.' This holy life is lived for the sake of restraint & abandoning." (Itivuttaka)(Duk. I,8) (It. 28)

  • Thich Quang Duc, The Burning Monk that was his name

  • Thich Quang Duc did not burn himself in protest of the Vietnam War, he was protesting the persecution of Buddhism by South Vietnam's Diem regime.

  • Great video

    5 stars

  • are the sayings in the video quotes of Thich Nhat Hanh? great song btw, i love the synthetic part near the end.

  • Hi EnderLePage, Yes they are quotes from Thich Nhat Hanh from the 14 precepts.

  • great vid. very very deep and moving.

  • duc immolated because buddhists were being victimized by biast government in a country that was almost all buddhist.

  • I love this shit! I eat meat but probably shouldnt, there are to many options now and if you think about it man in space may one day dream of other animals that no longer exist. in the future maybe one fly would be precious to us. we needed meat for growth, like all omnivores, but if we want to be godlike we should have compassion.

  • Hi ronny2471. we do not need to eat meat or dairy to live as many healthy vegans can attest. In fact in the UK, the Department of Environment is going to be encouraging people to become vegan for the environment.

  • could you send me the file to edit and make a translation of the text to portuguese? thanks

  • I think you should post this as a video response to alot of the war-news and religious argument videos. But please take the flaming monk out! I've lent Buddhist materials to people, and exactly stories like that lead people to say, "but this is impossible for a human being to practice."

  • Ven Thich Nhat Hanh wrote in his book Living Buddha Living Christ that before Ven Thich Quang Duc self immolated in protest of the Vietnam war, he wrote a compassionate letter to many people explaining his actions. This action was done out of compassion, not out of anger or hate. Of course, Ven Thich Quang Duc was obviously a very advanced practitioner to say the least. We would not recommend self immolation as a means of protest, however his protest is in keeping with the message.

  • Very useful positive reminder, until the end. I'd take the self-immolating monk at the end out;people already are confused into hurting themselves, it does harm to hold this up as an example.

  • hey do you even know the "Self-immolating monk"'s name? what he did was noble he was a great man, please remember his name Thich Quang Duc dont see it as a suicide see it as his way of saying be kind rewind...
