Actually, I didn't know that the statue was a part of the original Don Juan legend, but turns out that way (wikipedia helped). So my remark above is indeed very stupid (except for the thanky ou part) :)
A little background story for the non-russians. The story is based on a well-known russian folk tale about a 'bogatir" -- russian knight, who encounters a stone at the crossroads which warns him about his fate if he takes a particular rout. It also plays with an idea of a "lazy russian".
