  • Worm valve magnet tape! picture. ;)

    btw, studio version was shorter!

  • camel came about during the same era as genesis and nektar, they were slightly a few years behind pink floyd, yes and elp, but were well on the same path, and alot would argue that they were much muscians, because of richard sinclair they are part of the "cantbury tree list of great interconnecting muscian, i saw them perform twice in the 90s and consider myself fortunate to have been able to

  • This band is so good. Fuck Floyd. This is where the real progressive rock is at!

  • This is the beauty of Youtube.I remember Camel when I was a kid in the 70s,never knowing much of their music, but with the aid of Spotify and Youtube I have rediscovered and expanded upon the skill, majesty and magic of this awesome band.

  • Absolutely exquisite.Genius.

  • Must. Practice. Bass. Learn. To. Play. Camel.

What? It's a really great band.

  • I wish I could see a show like this today.

  • Indeed one of the most talented bands of any genre. Opeth just as good but in a different way, in fact Opeth admits being influenced by Camel.

  • This Video is available on the DVD "Moondances", get it from Camels website!

...ahem without the hicups in the tape! LOL! :)

  • everybody stand tall, the greatests band of all times is here

  • Is that minimoog Pete is playing?

  • @Jorsalfar Yes it is.

  • VHS Baby !! Yeahhhh !!

  • Opeth is not really the same type of music, and I always though they were a band with screamy vocals. After checking them out, though, it appears that I was mistaken. They do seem very talented.

  • Sinclair's bass tone and playing is so unique! that's why i believe Rain Dances is such a great album!!! he gave something different to the band.

  • Great song. Talent that could not be matched by any group today.

  • indeed .. they are awesome .. but i can compaire ( their talent ) with Opeth.. what a great band

  • sounds like somethings from markmeloney's nightmare !!! and it's great !!!

  • sounds like somethin from the ghost busters

  • ha ha ... very stupid comment

  • long live Camel!

  • Im just barely getting into camel, they are terrific. But i had a question, did they name it camel cuz the guitarist looks like one?

  • You ridiculous little piece of shit.

  • lol

  • No, its cos they all can go days without water!

  • what kind of effect is set up on bas? you know?

  • I know that Richard Sinclair is a carpenter and makes his own Bass Guitars. He prefers fretless - sounds like WAL.

  • maybe. but here he play on Fender Jazz Bass + (i think so) phaser. it sounds like that :)

  • its a phaser... im pretty sure!

i use the dunlop mxr 90 pedal and it sounds the same.

  • yeah correctly. i also use mxr 90. and fender precision.

  • me to. ;) i think richard in this video also uses a fender precision bass.

  • Cefax/teletext music off nightime tv

but pete bardens is sadly missed

  • Que excelentes rolas arriba camel mis favoritos

-hay que apoyar a Andy Latimer que anda malito aunque sea mandandole buena vibra!!!!!

  • What a great track! Richard Sinclair's bass is awesome. Check out the version on "Live record"

  • My only problem with that is that Peter isn't using his Fender Rhodes on it.

  • whom ever don't like this band go to hell

this is fantastic shit when there was real music not the crapola of nowdays that rap junkshit

  • this sounds so much like Modern Prog its awesome!

  • Man, I don't think there is one song I do not like in any of their albums up to Rain Dances. What a solid band.

  • agreed solid band.. the 1980's period of this band was pretty forgettable though

  • fuck all the rap motherfuckers they dont know what is music.fucking cunts...

  • This song alone makes we want to purchase a USB turntable so I can import my Vinyl copy of Raindances onto my IPod.

Put on the headphones and smoke up cause this is great shit.

  • This was an era when ppl cared about songwriting, melody, synchopations, counterpoint and arrangements as a whole. They took music to new places but of course done with great levels of skill!

  • Oh, there are still many many artists who still write the same complex and well arranged harmonies and music these days, you just have to know where to find it. It sure isnt on the radio or commercially known

  • Although i love Camel and Caravan I agree with this comment. Check out a band called Porcupine Tree try a track called "Arriving Somewhere but not Here" from the album "Deadwood".

  • Yes, Porcupine Tree are one of many bands that still write intricate and creative music, harmonies and melodies. The genre is still thriving, you just have to know where to look (and NOT On any commercial radio station)

  • Porcupine Tree are fantastic! I picked up Fear of a Blank Planet just after it was released and couldnt stop playing it. Is it possible to wear out a C/D??? LOL

  • Porcupine Tree album is called Deadwing

  • I totally agree with you. Forget he mainstream music shit you hear every day.

Years ago here in Philly they played this stuff on a Radio station broadcast from one of the local universities. Might even still be on the air?

  • Despite the nasty tracking problem... AWESOME!!!

The Rain Dances line-up is my favourite, each one of them were at their prime here.

  • mine too...youre so right

  • Amazing , thanks for posting it .

  • Smoke 'em if you get 'em dude! J/K.

  • the sound quality is bad but camel is my fav band

  • really love this song. although in this case i prefer the studion version.

  • What r u talking about... The song is great, the band is excellent, the genre is the best and the musicians are matchless...

  • old fashioned and boring?

    Old Fashioned and Boring??

    OLD FASHIONED AND BORING???

    Yeah, for an HombresG fan

  • whaT THE FUCK!!! hOMBRESG is a gay sissy band

  • Comment removed

  • @snowgoose92 i know that rap is boring.........but trance is good if you listen ambient trance or psytrance........

  • WOW! This is one of my favourite songs on bass. How can anyone play that tricky bass part with such speed and half of the time not even looking what he's playing?!!!? Richard's the MAN!!!

  • Richard Sinclair from Caravan on bass excellent

  • Pity the bass is not loud enhoug here. The thing I like most of this song is the bass at the beginning.

I also always liked these old synts much better than the digital ones.

  • Long live camel!

  • Another great performance from a truly talented band With the great late peter bardens on keyboards.

recorded live at the hippodrome 1977.

  • and there is an audio file of the live video of rain dances tour ( i mean the videos that say the 1st, 2nd,3rd video of camel etc.....)and it is just great quality!!!

  • A great prog band.Nice song and good musicians (R.I.P)P.Bardens

  • one of the coolest band on earth? why couldn't be that famous? they play live even better than in the studio!
