  • nice video thanks for sharing very interesting .. god bless

  • I love Shorttrack!!!♥♥ I'm 11 and i do it. I love it becouse i love the speed and just the sport. This time i was 3th off Europa!!!! And i just love it;)

  • Apolo Ohno, yet again showing what bad sportsmanship is. Very exciting race no less.

  • i did this today in oakland on my start

  • 2:50 jordan's like omg

  • Did the same guy win each time?

  • Can someone explain to me a few things...

    1. Why did they restart the first time but not the second, when the same amount of people fell in both?

    2. What is "dirty" about how Apolo raced? Within the context of the race, how does one cheat?

I want to understand short track more and would appreciate a non-biased explanation of the race. Thanks!

  • @armvamg

    1. There is rule where if more than 50% of skaters fall, it's essentially "not a race" anymore. The judges can then call the race. They did not restart the second time because Travis Jayner had already crossed the line before Ohno and Malone slammed into the wall. Once a skater crosses the line, the race is over. It cannot be restarted and the results stand.

    2. Some claim he purposely grabbed Jayner to cause the fall. Some people say it wasn't intentional. You decide.

  • @Zclyh3 interesting. Thanks! So, in the case of Steven Bradbury from the 2002 Olympics, he hadn't cross the line yet when all the skaters fell, yet they didn't redo the race. They just kept it going. Why is that?

  • @armvamg That's exactly what the skaters asked . But in the end, it's the judges that decide if a race is stopped or not. In Bradbury's case, no one was seriously injured, so they kept the race going.

In this race, a lot of skaters felt that since because Apolo fell, they stopped the raced only for this reason. Was it because of favoritism? Who knows. Remember it's the refs that stop the race. The ref that stopped it even admitted it was the wrong call. Jordan should have won this race.

  • @armvamg I am and still am a fan of Apolo but if you look at 1:02, you can see Apolo grabbing the skater in front/ahead of him and pulling on his arm.

  • Huh. Well it was a very VERY smart tactical decision, since that's technically legal, I believe, in short track (because he was in front of them) and with three people down a re-start would be necessary, and give him a chance of winning. It's playing VERY dirty, and it's obviously really dangerous, but it's not cheating. Obnoxious as fuck, though. Lol.

  • @mygreenheaven That's actually why they restarted the race. There is apparently a rule where if over 50% of the skaters fall, they can restart the race.

  • His entire career tells how cheater he is.

    World class cheater for sure.

  • March 21, 2010 ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championship, Bulgaria, Sofia 2010 March 20, 2010 Dream team South Korea = 7 Gold 6 Silver 3 Bronze (16 total medals out of 26) Team World= 3 Gold 4 Silver 7 Bronze Dream team South Korea Wins vs. Team World by 16 : 12 (two medals wont count cuz of Team Relay) Team World: China: 3 gold Canada: 3 silver 2 bronze USA: 1 silver 4 bronze Germany: 1 bronze Short Track Speed Skating was and is owned by the Korean!!!
  • haha I have a picture of this race as my wallpaper. I didin't even know which race it was till I saw this! At least I confirmed my guess at who was in the shot!

  • Omg at 2:30. Apolo could've sliced his cheek open

  • oh no you may be the hero of the us, but what goes around comes around..plz~~ go play with sportsmanship. see? you get finally DQ at 500m final in 2010.

You could still have been the hero of short track. you dishonor us.

  • @tobylove822 Ok let's not take this too personal. It's just short track.

  • 0:52 First attack with right hand. not working...Second attack 0: 57 trying to grab the skate blade..not working Finally

transformed into the suicide bomb. yay~~~it works~~!!

  • Look closer at 1:02 Oh no grab other player's arm...He could have just passed but Oh no says " Oh no~~I cannot die alone" puahhah

  • puahhahaha nicely done Oh no~~

Now you became the "Human Anti-tank Rocket Launcher" killing two tanks there

    puahhahah

  • HAHAHAHAA ;D

  • who won?

  • Travis Jayner? haha

  • Sad day! Apolo falls TWO times! But he still got silver and bronze at the REAL olympics, so its all good :-)

  • poor Apolo falls 2 times!:-$ but still gd

  • In my opinion, THE SLOW MOTION PART IS FUNNY(:

  • haha yeah that's why I edited it like that.

  • Are they trained at how to fall correctly??

  • @Havixus there's not like special training, you kinda fall how you fall. Basically, you just learn not to mess up your blades or fracture your shins by spinning to face away from the boards before you hit /:

  • apolo and JR were tho ones that fell both times right? they are both very very good!!

  • Apolo is an ass...big mouth

cheating means just another way to win.

If he get caught he would just laugh about it.. he didn't have to grab that skater,, clearly shows he intentional went down with him.. Cheater he was and still is. . .

Look at way he left that mustach..

  • @chewchewg Yeah Jordan was definitely robbed in this 500m. But it's ok. He still made it to the World Cup team that season.

  • @chewchewg

i really dont like your comment, and i dont like you either. Sorry i disagree with your comment and way of expressing it.

  • @chewchewg

also, when your going at that type of speed. You have no control of what your doing, how you fall and who gets knocked down with you. Trust me, i have had expreince myself with it, atleast they all got a redo. Right?

  • @miamisoccerlover12 that's right. I also have experience with falling :S and really, the only thing you have control of is trying to spin so you don't mess up the blades on the boards. I don't like how Apolo skates, but it's really not like he fell to take down other skaters

  • Is Celski 21?

  • no he's 19.

  • no i mean his number in this race?

  • @nickjaddicted no his number is 43 apolo's is 21

  • o ya i knew apolo's was 21 after i saw him wearing it in other races but now i see J.R with 57 and not 43..o wat evr there both realy good

  • GO JORDAN!!!

  • cheater Apolo

  • Cheater? For not wanting to go head on with a blade?

  • It's just a defensive reaction . He dosen't want his leg or face slit open by a blade I imagine.

  • i know ohno is good. but it does kinda look fishy at 1:02. pause it and see for yourself.

  • I have more videos coming up from the World Cups.

  • He clearly doesn't want to go face first into a skate.

  • therefore making them fall as well, the restart wasn't a bad call, they wanted an even race.....it was just an unlucky form of events, so keep your opinions for your own Amateur minds, REPRESENT PATTISONS WEST, FEDERAL WAY WASHINGTON....

  • This is jayson williams from pattison's west skating team, and i know who JR celski is, and i know of apolo's career as a speed skater, NOTHING, would be intentional to make others fail at winning a race, he's lost plenty of races in his day, but has also won a lot more than he has been defeated, he does not and WILL not make attempts to hold others from victory, his skate clearly hit the ice and made him lose balance, obviously makin him fall....then the others behind him had nowhere else to go

  • If you dont speed skate I think your reading to much into it.

  • Those who believe Ohno's action was not intentional is being way too naive. Remember that Ohno is a well seasoned world class skater. He literally knows every finger movement of every player. Sure he is extremely good, but is also notorious for numerous foul plays throughout his career.

  • Where are you getting your facts from?

  • why did they restart? it was on the last lap

  • Because since more than 50% of the skaters fell, technically it's not a race anymore. However, ALL the skaters got up in a heartbeat and even the head referee admitted it was a bad call.

  • watch closely to the last falls slow- mo

Apolo fingers jordan malone with white glove...

  • That wasn't intentional. At 0:32-0:33, you can see his right skate blade come up, then come down, with the tip of the blade jabbing into the ice, ultimately tripping him.

  • That is some great camera work considering the rig you're using, great job!

  • Thanks. I've recorded on the unit I've had so much that I've pretty much mastered the motion.

  • Thanks for this! **

  • did you see ohno grab him??!! cheat..

  • I don't think it was intentional. But it's up to you to decide.

  • I don't know? It looked intentional to me. Apolo was stable on his knees and he didn't touch the other skater, he grab him. Is this another Tonya Harding in the making?

  • At first I thought it was intentional, but after watching it for a few times, I think he did that to get out of his way. It's hard to decide because everything happens so fast. In the end though, the judges didn't think it was intentional.

  • ya thats definitely jordan malone who was the last man standing not jayner

  • ah you mean in the restart.. haha never got that far :P.. thats embarrasing

  • Great stuff -great camerawork- i sent you an e-mail today (just incase it gets spam filtered)

  • WATCH IN HD!
