Specially read what he says about the army being subject to the elected executive of the country. I want you to take a look at the UK constitution and US constitution among others. Also is interesting to read about Jinnah's advice to Col. Akbar Khan of Kashmir War fame about military, "Never forget that you are the servants of the state. You do not make policy. It is we, the peoples representative, who decide how the country is to be run. Your job is to only obey the decisions of civilian masters."

Specially read what he says about the army being subject to the elected executive of the country. I want you to take a look at the UK constitution and US constitution among others. Also is interesting to read about Jinnah's advice to Col. Akbar Khan of Kashmir War fame about military, "Never forget that you are the servants of the state. You do not make policy. It is we, the peoples representative, who decide how the country is to be run. Your job is to only obey the decisions of civilian masters."

I agree after 9/11 he handeled the international situation very well and wisdomly BUT today in 2010 we Pakistani Nation have not get any reward for that friendship from USA rather than drawn attacks and daily wastage of valuable lives of innocent Pakistanis in its tribal areas which indicates that becoming of a alliance country of USA after 9/11 was USELESS.

|I am not sure what you mean but let's agree that we should follow a constitution with laws to make the vision of a modern democratic Pakistan a reality. It may take some time but we shouldn't look for shortcuts to hard work. We need to believe in vision of Quaid to see the nation function like it should with stable governance. Some people focus on Musharraf's bad uneducated English but the real issue is how he destabilized the nation with 9 years of dictatorship. He undermined the institutions of state and introduced the greatest terrorism and criminality. He showed others that laws don't matter but the rule of the gun. By his example he encouraged other criminals to take over illegaly like Taleban. How can Taleban be bad to take over illegaly when Mush did the same thing. It's the principle of constitution and law.

No the point is to follow the constitution and laws of a nation and not commit treason. When an army officer swears an oath to uphold the constitution and breaks it, this forms the basis of treason. Musharraf destabilized the nation by undermining its governance and ruined what little institutions the nation had. Ultimately, Musharraf proved a bad dictator is worse than any bad politician. You see the spectre of terrorism, instability and a bad international name- all given by Musharraf.
