Beautiful man, I want that same color fully loaded 7 to join my mystic dream 6. One question, did the D-Sonic come arranged that way? In my 6 the bar is towards the neck, I noticed yours is towards the bridge. I wonder how different it sounds.
Thanks man (: The D-Sonic's come arranged that way. I'm not to sure why it is, it may be to do with coping with the lower ends of the low B? dunno lol Sorry for the late reply btw...
As with the 6-string D Sonic, the character of the sound can be altered by reversing the installation direction. This can be particularly important because of the effect it will have on the low B string. With the solid bar polepiece towards the neck, the low B will be fat and heavy. With the bar towards the bridge, the sound will be tighter with more attack
Btw while I'm here.....how would you rate the JP7, as I am interested in buying one in the future. In particular, what do you think of the Dimarzio D-Sonic, and the JP7's neck profile? Other noteworthy comments???
well the brand new JP7s now have new pickups, i forget what theyre called now. you should go on the ernieball forums and read up about the differences in those new JP pickus
I think the JP7 is a fantastic guitar. When playing through my mesa it sounds huge with those D-Sonics! The neck profile is surprisingly comfortable, I've went hours playing and had no strain in my hands, plus it feels really good. But tbh the only way u will know is to try and get your hands on one and give it a shot (:
The silhouette Special has 22 frets compared to the the silhouette's 24. This giving the Silo special more of a vintage strat tone.
The difference's between the two now is not much, I think it was back in the 80's there were noticeable difference's like a floyd trem on the silo. I think the only other difference now is that the silo has solid saddles and the silo special has vintage bent saldles.
There could be more to it, I am sure someone will correct me if am wrong! lol
To add to what you said, the Silhouette comes in a H/S/H pickup configuration, and the Silhouette Special comes in either a H/S/S config. or S/S/S config.
I will make a vid someday of me playing it. If you love Mesa then the V-Twin pedal will blow you away, it's a powerhouse. When the valves are cooking it's awesome!!!
Should that not be your "Ernie Ball MusicMen"? :-)
Have an Albert Lee - fantastic guitar!
