Your videos have been extremely helpful. It's all a matter of taste, but when it comes down to it, my ears tend to gravitate toward Zildjian and Wuhan ride cymbals. That's just me. Also, no matter how great you think your cymbal may sound, most any audio engineer will puss it out in the end.

(death/heavy metal drummer) Meinl being the brightest sounding one. IMO also depends on your style of drumming, so for death/heavy metal drummers out there i think meinl/paiste is the way to go.

I play professionally with the paiste ride. It sits among some great higher end cymbals, and doesn't miss a beat. I also recorded with it, and it worked fantastically. Especially after I broke it in a little, some of the clangy overtones that every mid level cymbal has started to tone down a bit.

I noticed the meinl as well had a good lack- of-clang, but it was just a bit too powerful for me.

I own a Sabian B8 ride and i would say its great the only problem is the long decay but not as bad as zildjian lol, meinl is not my type of sound, and paiste just sounds awesome overall

ZBT ZXT ZHT - Sheet Bronze line

A, A Custom,K Kcustom, FX - cast bronze

Z3 - top of the line

zbt zxt and zht cymbals are one part and zildjian even said that ZHT's are their mid level cymbals. zbt's are for entry level drummers.

a, a customs are for lighter sounds and k, k customs are for darker sounds these cost more than zbt's zxt's and zht's because they are made of cast bronze not sheet bronze
